Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 235: Easy Kill

Chapter 235: Easy Kill
Although Devils liked to invade other worlds and could wander in the Origin Sea, it was a fact that the Demon World was still their hometown.
In this place, their strength would be significantly enhanced as if assisted by the whole world, while a sense of closeness would constantly assault their senses.
Unfortunately, Liora did not have the time to immerse herself in those feelings.
The moment she exited the folding space and stepped into the Demon World, a powerful force rose from the side.
Demonic energy raged while the temperature around her soared at an incredible rate as if she had fallen into a volcano.
Forced by the situation, Liora had to regain her composure whether willing or not.
She raised her head and inspected the source of these changes, only to discover that a familiar palm was falling towards her from the sky, shrouding herself in its dark shadow.
It was purely made out of fire elements, and many colorful flames lit up in it as it fell down, vowing to wipe her out.
“The True Devil Fire Elemental!”, Liora whispered, understanding that her previous guesses had been true.
This creature had indeed not left this place. Rather, it had been waiting for her to return from her journey.
Immediately, Liora moved.
Ignoring the suppression that the palm had on the space around her, she raised her foot and took a step forward.
The space in front of her folded, and it swallowed her whole.
When it “spat her out”, Liora had appeared hundreds of meters away, exiting the cave and arriving on the ground.
The next moment, the colorful palm passed through the gap in the earth and struck the place where she had just stood.
A familiar scene soon occurred.
A deep imprint was left in the underground cave, while colorful flames remained behind and devoured the earth itself.
“Huh?”, a faint exclamation sounded, evidence of its owner’s inner surprise.
When Liora turned to look at the source of the sound, she saw that it was none other than the True Devil Fire Elemental that had once hunted her down and forced her to leave the Demon World.
Its aura was as powerful as ever, while its oppressive appearance was still as terrifying.
Liora’s eyes did not stay on it for long, though. Her gaze scanned through her surroundings, checking for any potential enemies.
When her consciousness spread and failed to find any hidden enemies, however, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
“Fortunately, the worst-case scenario did not happen. Although the enemy has been waiting for me to return, they didn’t call for reinforcements.”, she whispered.
If that had been the case, Liora would have immediately turned around and fled.
After all, though she was confident in her own strength, she wasn’t planning to be besieged for no reason and no benefit.
Thankfully, the Fire Elemental was all alone.
Perhaps because it had underestimated a Lesser Devil like Liora, it didn’t ask for help from any of its companions.
“Have you become a True Devil? Impossible! You were just an ordinary Lesser Devil not long ago.”, a disbelieving voice came out of the Fire Elemental.
Its voice was full of surprise and shock.
But soon, these emotions turned into unabashed greed.
“It seems that the thing you carry is more valuable than I thought. Is it some kind of powerful weapon, or an inheritance of some powerful being?”, the Fire Elemental spoke, voicing its doubts out loud.
Liora heard its words.
Unfortunately, she was not prepared to give the answer it was seeking.
She understood that this was the hometown of the Fire Elemental, and she did not have much time.
If she didn’t act quickly, and other Fire Elementals caught wind of what happened and gathered here, her life would be in danger.
Hence, Liora did not hesitate.
Ignoring the doubts in the Fire Elemental’s eyes, she chose to take the initiative.
Instantly, the now-familiar power of Nothingness descended and bound around the Fire Elemental, while a sphere gathered above her head.
Having decided to kill her opponent and continue on with her initial plans, Liora did not hold back.
Both Nothingness Manipulation and Eclipse were activated from the very start.
Before the Fire Elemental could react, the Nothingness had transformed into a field and bound it, while the black hole-like sphere fell down like a crushing mountain.
Soon, the Elemental was drowned in the attacks.
The flames making up its body were extinguished and became food for the sphere, while its body cracked several times before shattering into dust.
In the blink of an eye, the Fire Elemental had vanished, as if it had died completely.
However, Liora did not believe this.
She knew that every Fire Elemental possessed a certain characteristic that could very well save their lives.
Sure enough, just a moment later, the thing she had been searching for appeared.
A large orb floated at the place where the Fire Elemental had just stood.
Faint cracks covered its surface, but the fire elements in the valley gathered and attempted to repair it.
This orb was the Fire Elemental’s most prominent characteristic—their core, which acted as their heart.
As long as their core was not shattered and their soul was not wiped out, a Fire Elemental could live forever!
The moment the core showed up, it showed no willingness to fight with Liora.
Without any hesitation, it soared into the sky and attempted to flee.
Clearly, the Fire Elemental had already realized the gap between it and Liora and was preparing to escape.
But, of course, Liora was not planning to let it leave. With a move of her mind, a spear appeared in her hand, and she fired it in the enemy’s direction.
Though it was merely a weapon, the Spear of Divine Punishment was not simple at all.
It instantly locked the space around the core and suppressed it, slowing down its speed and preventing it from escaping.
Although the core was ultimately able to escape its influence, it was ultimately too late.
The boundless Nothingness had gathered around the orb under Liora’s command and washed over it like a waterfall smashing onto a rock.
On the surface, the core did not suffer much damage.
Yet, in Liora’s eyes, the Fire Elemental’s consciousness was quickly being wiped out.
Only a few seconds later, its consciousness completely dissipated.
The core’s struggle ceased, and it fell to the ground, no longer possessing the intelligence to move.
“The first step is done.”, Liora thought as she flashed beside the core and picked it up.
Feeling the boundless fire elements stored in it that could be used to strengthen herself, she had the urge to devour its energy.
But she stopped in time.
She understood that this thing was going to be very useful for her next plans.
Thinking of this, Liora held onto the core of the True Devil Fire Elemental with her right hand.
Then, her mind moved, and her new ability was activated.
The core began to melt into orange liquid under its power before it merged into her body.
As it did, Liora’s skin glowed softly and began transforming.
