Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 262: Provocation

Chapter 262: Provocation
As one of the main attractions and sources of wealth of Bloodflower City, countless people wished that the Demon Colosseum would fall into their hands.
Unfortunately, without enough strength to protect it, taking control of such a place was simply a dream.
Thus, it was only natural that the Owner of the Demon Colosseum was powerful.
Not only was he not a weakling, but he was actually a True Devil, being one of the six Lords in Bloodflower City.
The audience in the stands had never seen him before, and it was also impossible for them to take a closer look at him now.
Yet, the moment their eyes landed on the towering figure floating above the arena, they recognized his identity.
On the other hand, Liora did not face the issues that these people did.
The moment the Owner of the Demon Colosseum emerged, her gaze shifted towards him, and she accurately captured his appearance.
A giant—this was the first term that popped up in Liora’s mind.
Throughout her journey, Liora had met several Devils and other creatures who were tens of meters tall.
Yet compared to this person, they all looked tiny.
This was not because of his height, but because of a deeper, more inexplicable reason.
Covered in powerful muscles, the Owner of the Demon Colosseum looked less like a person and more like a test subject that had escaped from a research facility.
Unknowingly, the figure of a certain green man couldn’t help but appear in Liora’s mind as she compared them.
The True Devil opposite her did not know her inner thoughts; otherwise, a fight would have immediately broken out.
The moment the Owner of the Demon Colosseum appeared, he cast a glance at the semi-destroyed colosseum below before shifting his gaze towards Liora.
’A True Devil!’, he realized, and coupled with the rumors that had been floating earlier, he understood that his opponent was the True Devil who had come to the city a few days ago.
The Owner of the Demon Colosseum frowned.
He didn’t rush to speak to her, instead pulling the injured announcer closer.
Then, without caring about his severe injuries that were about to flare up, he asked in a hoarse but cold voice:
“Speak! What happened here?”, he questioned.
The announcer’s face grew even more pale.
But hearing a Lord’s order, he could only hide his thoughts and comply.
It was unknown what method he used, but his soul fluctuated, and he began conveying what had happened earlier.
As he listened, the frown on the face of the Owner of the Demon Colosseum grew deeper.
After the announcer finished speaking, he tossed him casually to the side before turning his gaze back to Liora, who had remained silent all this time.
“I’ve already heard about Your Excellency’s visit to Bloodflower City.”
“I’ve long wished to meet you, but I didn’t expect that it would happen under such circumstances.”, the True Devil paused for a brief moment and continued:
“It’s all because of my lax control over my subordinates that they offended you.”, he sighed.
Saying this, the Owner of the Demon Colosseum didn’t wait for Liora to respond.
Turning his head to the side, he looked towards the stands where the Graveplate Devils previously stood.
His mind moved, and with a mere thought, continuous banging sounds echoed.
In an instant, several Lesser Devils, who had been tasked with keeping the order of the colosseum, exploded.
Under the control of his powerful demonic energy, they transformed into pure droplets of essence, which he let fly towards Liora.
“This can be considered an apology. Don’t worry. These people deserve it for making such a grave mistake.”
These words reached Liora’s ears as she was inspecting the drops of essence floating in front of her.
After she found nothing wrong and became certain that there were no traps left behind, she waved her hand casually and let them drop on Alpha, further speeding up her advancement.
Then, she took a closer look at the Owner of the Demon Colosseum.
Inwardly, Liora was quite surprised.
She didn’t expect that this person would be so ruthless and decisive, easily slaughtering his own subordinates to “calm down” her anger before she could even say anything.
“Perhaps he has realized something…”, she thought.
Secretly, she couldn’t help but curse.
Weren’t people with such an appearance supposed to be stupid, easily angered, and irrational?
How am I supposed to make trouble if you don’t cooperate and just give in?
Of course, Liora was merely joking.
Since she had come here today, no matter what the Owner of the Demon Colosseum thought, she would keep asking for trouble.
Thinking of this, Liora glanced at the True Devil opposite her and opened her mouth to speak:
“I’ve long heard of the Violence Lord’s name. Your Excellency is truly the idol of all Devils in the Demon World.”, she said with a polite smile.
However, before the Violence Lord could reply, her tune suddenly changed.
“Unfortunately, even though I’m unwilling to clash with Your Excellency, I’m also forced by the situation.”
“I’m sure that everyone knows in the city that the Demon Colosseum is under your control. Since they dared to attack the arena despite this, it must mean that there is an insider helping them.”
“They might be targeting me, or they might be targeting my subordinate. Either way, I can’t rest as long as these people are still alive.”, she spoke.
Although her voice was plain, her resolve was clear.
Unless those responsible were brought to justice, she would not leave today. It was as if she couldn’t sleep without taking care of these hidden threats.
Hearing her words, the eyes of the Violence Devil couldn’t help but twitch.
Still, he forced himself to calm down and smiled.
“I wonder how Your Excellency is planning to find those responsible? I’m afraid that the culprits have taken precautions against this. Why don’t we go inside and search for them together?”
Unfortunately, Liora shook her head.
“Finding them is pretty simple.”
“As long as I devour their souls and comb through their memories, it will only be a matter of time before I find the true mastermind behind the scenes.”
Though the pair was in the sky, they didn’t try to keep their conversation a secret.
Thus, everyone in the audience heard Liora’s words.
Instantly, silence shrouded the colosseum.
Even the bravest among them no longer dared to speak up, afraid that they would be involved.
The smartest among them had already made a move to leave the colosseum, knowing that there would soon be a fight.
