Chapter 321: Demon God’s Cemetery
For the next few days, nothing out of the ordinary took place in the Ouroboros Clan.
Unlike what everyone would have expected, the death of the group sent to the Northern Lands did not cause much reaction.
Even the Priest, whose son was nowhere to be found, didn’t cause any trouble to Liora, seemingly having forgotten about what had happened.
Liora did not remain idle.
She spent most of her time collecting information regarding this world and the Divine Clans, while using the rest of her time to get familiar with her Demon Weapon.
Just when Liora believed that this would continue on for a while, she received an unexpected invitation.
—
“It seems that you’ve already grown closer to your Divine Weapon. That’s good.”
“Besides lacking some combat experience, you can be considered a true Weapon Master.”, the Clan Head observed Liora and praised, nodding his head in satisfaction.
Seeing that Liora was about to ask something, the Clan Head took the initiative to speak up:
“The Clan has already investigated what happened in the Northern Lands and discovered the traces of the Dark Demon Clan on the battlefield.”
Saying this, the Clan Head’s tone grew a little confused as he wondered whether his previous guess had been wrong. Still, he continued:
“The group sent to investigate was also attacked by the Dark Demon Clan. You don’t have to worry. The Third Priest will no longer have any reason to trouble you.”
Liora seemed relieved on the surface, but inwardly, she remained utterly calm.
She had gone to great lengths to hide her involvement in the death of the Ouroboros Clan’s members, going as far as creating a “battlefield” scene behind.
Thus, the findings of the Clan were not surprising to her.
Still, Liora was a little doubtful when she heard the latter part of the Clan Head’s words.
Had the Dark Demon Clan attacked the investigation team?
Though this made perfect sense considering that the two Divine Clans were mortal enemies, Liora strongly doubted whether this was true.
Many thoughts raced through her mind, and she couldn’t help but take a deeper look at her “father”.
The Clan Head did not notice the change in her gaze.
After talking about the Third Priest for a little while, he switched the topic of conversation.
“The reason I summoned you is that the Demon God’s Cemetery is about to open again. The Clan is preparing to select the one hundred participants.”
“Originally, this had nothing to do with you. However, since you’ve become a Weapon Master, the Demon God’s Cemetery might be an opportunity.”
“Of course, if you’re unwilling to go, I will never force you.”
After he said this, the Clan Head remained silent, giving “his daughter” the time to think.
Liora would have been confused if she had heard his proposal when she first arrived at the Ouroboros Clan. After all, she had only received some fragmented memories and was not the real Ophis.
But after spending a few days in the Clan, and specifically in the Clan’s library, she was now familiar with this world.
As such, information regarding the so-called Demon God’s Cemetery resurfaced in her mind.
It was called “cemetery”, but in fact, the Demon God’s Cemetery was an ancient battlefield involving tens of Demon Saints and several Demon Sovereigns.
It existed in a different dimension, and because of its chaotic environment, it suppressed stronger beings, allowing only Weapon Masters to enter.
The Demon God’s Cemetery was extremely dangerous.
However, since the Nine Divine Clans had chosen it as a common training ground, it was quite obvious that the danger was accompanied by many great opportunities.
Recalling the cemetery’s information, which overlapped with her goals, Liora pretended to think for a few seconds before she nodded her head.
“The Demon God’s Cemetery opens only once every ten years.”
“I’m afraid that if I miss this chance, I will be unable to enter the next time. Moreover, I’ve only just become a Weapon Master.”
“If I wish to catch up with the Priest’s descendants, I should take every opportunity that I come across.” Liora looked at the Clan Head and said with a stern expression, giving a reason for her choice.
The Clan Head had already expected this result.
Though he doubted whether his previous guess, that his daughter had wiped out the Ouroboros Clan’s team, was true, it was apparent that she was very ambitious.
Although entering the Demon God’s Cemetery was bound to be dangerous, every Divine Race member longed to enter it.
Looking at his daughter’s expression, which reminded him of his younger self, the Clan Head was satisfied.
Still, he knew that he should give her a few lessons.
“The Demon God’s Cemetery is quite dangerous. Besides the dangers of the cemetery itself, you will also have to face the danger coming from other people.”
“While inside, you shouldn’t trust anyone. This includes the members of the Ouroboros Clan. Particularly those of the four Priests…”
—
After giving Liora instructions, the Clan Head let her return to her room.
Shortly after, Serathiel arrived. He didn’t stay for long, only visiting her to leave some things under the Clan Head’s orders.
Soon, only Liora was left in the room, standing among a pile of demon corpses. No blood dripped out of their bodies, and the corpses were relatively intact, with few injuries.
“To be able to kill Lesser Devil-level demons with ease means that at least a Demon Saint took action.”
“The Clan Head truly values his daughter. Not only did he deal with the trouble that ’I’ caused, but he also provided resources for my improvement.”
So far, Liora had not met any Demon Sovereign in the Ouroboros Clan. The Clan’s strongest members, including the Clan Head and the Priest, were all Demon Saints, equivalent to True Devils.
Thus, it could be seen that the Clan Head truly valued Ophis to give her these demon corpses.
Shaking her head, Liora did not think about it for long. No matter how great a family Ophis’ was, it didn’t matter to her.
Her gaze landed on the several demon corpses, and her mind moved, as a black umbrella shot out of her soul and appeared in her hand.
Holding its handle, Liora pushed its sharp tip into the closest demon corpse.
Surprisingly, this ordinary weapon easily cut through the demon’s tough defenses.
The umbrella’s tip drilled into the corpse as the serpent patterns on its surface squirmed, and the Demon Weapon began to absorb its blood and flesh.
A crimson, bloodthirsty glint ran across the umbrella.
Because of the link between them, Liora could sense it growing stronger.
Similarly, a torrent of energy followed their connection and poured into her own body.
Whether it was her physical body or even her demonic energy, they grew stronger under the torrent’s assistance.
