Chapter 323: Confrontation between Divine Clans
Under “her father’s” suggestion, Liora spent the next few days fighting against both humans and Evil Spirits.
In the Clan Head’s words, she had to prepare herself for the journey to the Demon God’s Cemetery, where she was bound to face several threats.
Due to the short period of time, Liora had no way to improve her Demon Weapon much.
Since that was the case, it was better to make up for her lack of strength with extraordinary combat experience.
Although Liora felt speechless as she was forced to spend day after day fighting with a bunch of weaklings, she had no way of arguing back.
All she could do was reveal a more powerful combat power step by step, as if her combat talent was extraordinary and she was improving at a rapid speed.
Under such circumstances, time quickly passed.
Soon, the day when the Demon God’s Cemetery was ready to open arrived.
—
As soon as Liora appeared in the giant plaza, she couldn’t help but feel surprised.
Besides her, many people had already gathered here.
Although a few people were missing, Liora could see that most of the participants were already here.
What surprised Liora, though, was that many of the people she saw in the plaza were completely unfamiliar to her. She had neither seen them over the past few days nor had any of them appeared in Ophis’ memories.
Yet, since these people had been chosen to participate in the Demon God’s Cemetery, it was obvious that they were members of the Ouroboros Clan.
“Had these people been in seclusion before, waiting for the Demon God’s Cemetery to open? Or were they hidden somewhere and only just now let out?”, Liora couldn’t help but wonder as she found a relatively remote place in the plaza and took her seat.
After her arrival, several other people came and mixed among the participants.
Before long, the final person arrived, making the total number of people in the plaza exactly one hundred.
At that moment, seemingly having waited for everyone to gather, several figures appeared in the sky above.
When she raised her head, Liora saw that the Clan Head was standing at the very front, accompanied by several other people.
Although she had never met most of them, when her eyes landed on an old man standing behind the Clan Head, she realized their identities.
They were the Priests of the Ouroboros Clan, tasked with safekeeping the Clan’s most precious treasure.
The moment they appeared, the people below immediately stopped talking.
They all lifted their heads and stared at the Demon Saints in the sky, with admiration and yearning flashing in their eyes.
The one to break the silence was none other than Ophis’ father, the Clan Head.
Looking at the one hundred Weapon Masters below, he nodded his head and opened his mouth:
“Since everyone has chosen to participate, I believe that you already know the basic information regarding the Demon God’s Cemetery.”
“While inside, you’re bound to face the threats of the cemetery itself, as well as the people sent by the other Divine Clans.”
Saying this, the Clan Head paused, and after a brief pause, he continued:
“While inside the cemetery, I don’t ask you to cooperate.”
“However, I hope that none of you take the initiative to attack the members of the same Clan. No matter your relationship, you should resolve your differences outside!”
Hearing his words, most of the people nodded their heads while a few chose to remain silent.
Only the Third Elder snorted coldly and stared at Liora below, his eyes flashing with faint murderous intent.
However, he didn’t speak.
It was unknown whether the Clan Head did not notice his movements or if he simply did not care.
After giving a few more instructions to the participants, he suddenly waved his hand.
Immediately, a giant black serpent, more than one hundred meters in length and several meters in width, flew out of his body and landed beside him, while an invisible hand picked up the participants and gently placed them on top of it.
With a flicker, the Clan Head and the Priest landed on the serpent’s head and sat down.
Then, the black serpent roared. Following a flick of its tail, it soared into the sky, soon disappearing into the horizon.
—
The Central Area was huge, larger than the other four major regions combined.
The Demon God’s Cemetery was located near the center of this region, while the Ouroboros Clan was at its northern end, close to the Northern Lands.
Still, with the colossal serpent leading the way, this long journey ended up taking only a few hours.
Before long, the black serpent abruptly came to a stop, pausing mid-air and floating in the sky.
It was only then that the one hundred participants, including Liora, realized that they had reached their destination.
With a sweep of her consciousness, Liora realized that the Ouroboros Clan was not alone.
Several colossal beings had gathered in a circular shape, unsurprisingly numbering to a total of nine.
Just like the black serpent, these beings also carried the participants of the other Clans.
Their shapes and forms were different.
Some beings appeared to be animals like the Ouroboros Clan’s serpent, others were giant weapons like swords, while there were even some that looked like demons.
Upon the Ouroboros Clan’s arrival, a muscular man standing on top of a demon surrounded by darkness turned his head and stared at the serpent.
Or to be more accurate, he looked at the Clan Head standing on its head.
“The Ouroboros Clan is getting weaker and weaker. I heard that not long ago, a team of several powerful descendants was lost in the Northern Lands.”, the man clicked his tongue and shook his head.
“Mayven, why don’t you step down from your position as the Clan Head? You’re no longer who you were a few decades ago. Maybe it’s time to give up…”
“Otherwise, the Ouroboros Clan will be ruined sooner or later under your leadership.”
The man’s voice was plain and not particularly loud, but despite this, it reached everyone’s ears.
Everyone, including the Ouroboros Clan’s team, heard his words clearly.
In response, Ophis’ father, Mayven, did not get angry. He merely glanced at the muscular man and replied:
“Leord, the Ouroboros Clan’s business should be none of your concern.”
“However, I heard that a powerful genius has emerged from your Dark Demon Clan.”
“It’s said that they were able to escape from a Demon Saint despite being only a Weapon Master. This time in the Demon God’s Cemetery, I’m afraid that your Dark Demon Clan will be the biggest winner with such a person in charge.”
Originally, none of the other seven Divine Clans paid any heed to the confrontation between the Ouroboros and the Dark Demon Clans.
After all, the nine Divine Clans had been established several thousand years ago.
During this time, there were bound to be conflicts among them.
Not only these two Clans, but every Divine Clan had its own enemies and allies.
However, when the Demon Saints heard the Ouroboros Clan’s Head’s words, their eyes couldn’t help but wander around the shadowy demon.
Soon, their eyes landed on a young man sitting at the very back, as if he were hiding himself. His aura looked weak, as if he had just broken through the Weapon Master realm.
But when these Demon Saints paid closer attention, they saw the truth. The young man’s power was overwhelming, almost reaching the Demon Saint realm.
Immediately, their eyes flickered and they couldn’t help but secretly remind their descendants to be wary of this young man.
