Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 340: Life Level Difference

Chapter 340: Life Level Difference
The gap between a Demon Sovereign and a Demon Saint was massive, similar to the gap between True Devils and Greater Devils.
Don’t be mistaken by Liora’s situation and her past achievements. Even among Devils, Liora was truly a freak.
No other True Devil besides her could possibly contend against Greater Devils.
Similarly, Demon Saints could not fight against Demon Sovereigns.
As such, the moment “Retribution” was activated, the Demon Saints all suffered a great deal of harm.
Not only did they have to suffer their respective attacks, but the power of their blows had also significantly increased.
The first to collapse was none other than Darian.
He was the strongest among the Demon Saints besieging Liora, and exactly because of that, the damage he suffered was the most serious.
Instantly, his body shattered like glass.
Just as a golden light flickered and wished to reconstruct his body, Liora’s Manifestation appeared.
His essence was devoured by the crimson saber, spelling out his total annihilation.
Before everyone could be shocked, the world trembled.
The blue sky above their heads parted, and bloody droplets started to rain down, as if the world itself was mourning for Darian’s death.
But just when everyone was affected by the sorrowful atmosphere, the vision disappeared. The bloody rain was wiped away at once and was replaced with a colorful rainbow.
One moment, the world was mourning for the Demon Saint’s death, and the next one it looked to be celebrating.
This contradictory behavior confused everyone, and they could not comprehend what was happening.
However, they soon didn’t have the will to pay attention to this phenomenon.
Not long after Darian died, another Demon Saint, this time from the Swordgod Clan, fell.
Then another, and another…
Within mere seconds, the previous alternating vision occurred several times.
Bloody rain fell and was subsequently wiped out, as if the world itself had a split personality.
Once, twice, thrice…
The Weapon Masters counted silently in their heads and were starting to doubt their lives.
It was only when the counter had reached nine that the visions finally stopped.
But no one was happy. They knew what this meant.
The future Clan Heads of the Divine Clans, the nine Demon Saints who had just broken through, had all met their demise!
They were all dead!
Raising their head, the ordinary Divine Race members couldn’t help but stare at the culprit with fear.
From the moment she was attacked till now, Liora had not moved from her position.
She remained motionless and stood calmly with the umbrella shielding her head from the rain, as if the death of everyone was none of her business.
However, everyone understood: this seemingly unassuming woman was different than what her appearance would suggest.
In their eyes, she was simply a demon!
Without so much as doing anything, she had caused the death of nine Demon Saints.
Just when they were wondering about their future, Liora shifted her attention to them.
She didn’t attack on her own. Instead, she lightly tossed the umbrella forward and let it transform.
The umbrella’s body squirmed. It elongated and grew many times larger in size, while its texture also gradually changed.
Before long, the silver umbrella was nowhere to be seen.
A colossal dragon had unknowingly replaced it.
A fierce yet aloof look flashed in the dragon’s eyes before it opened its mouth and let out an earthshattering roar.
Then, ignoring the terrified gazes of the people below, it raised its front limbs and brought them down like claws.
The sound of flesh being torn apart reverberated, followed by loud screams and pleas for mercy.
Unfortunately, the silver dragon didn’t seem to have heard their pleadings. Like a beast that had been unleashed, it rampaged through the battlefield.
—
It didn’t take long for the battle to be over.
With the death of the Demon Saints, none of the remaining Weapon Masters were able to compete with Liora.
She didn’t even need to take action.
Just by letting the silver dragon, the transformation of her Demon Weapon, take action, she wiped out all the Weapon Masters.
As the silver dragon returned and reluctantly transformed into an umbrella again, Liora ignored the ruins and blood around her and took her seat on the ground.
“That guy is indeed my savior. Could it be that Darian is a spy sent by other worlds?”
“I would have never been able to kill so many Weapon Masters if it weren’t for him. Considering the vastness of the continent and the fact that they can choose to hide, I would at most be able to locate half of these people.”
“Moreover, killing nine Demon Saints is an unexpected harvest.”
Liora couldn’t help but observe her current state.
Although the golden light had long disappeared, she could sense that even more Indestructible Matter had been integrated with her physical body.
By now, more than fifty percent of it had been fully integrated with Indestructible Matter.
The advantages of this were apparent.
Liora’s recovery abilities had been massively improved, while even her physical strength had been enhanced somewhat.
However, perhaps the most significant change was something else.
Suddenly, Liora made a surprising move.
Her right hand slashed at her left shoulder, and like cutting through paper, sliced her left arm off.
Ignoring the pain and blood dripping, she clutched the arm and threw it to the ground beside her.
The arm squirmed.
The flesh, bones, and blood shook violently before they merged together. Just like the silver dragon had done before, her left arm also transformed.
When the transformation was completed, a second person had appeared amidst the ruins.
With crimson hair, shining red eyes, and a beautiful face, she looked exactly the same as Liora. Or rather, she was Liora.
Feeling that her consciousness had been divided into two and she was now able to control both bodies, Liora had to admit that this was a novel experience.
Thankfully, her consciousness was very powerful, and she quickly got used to this feeling.
Her gaze turned her second self, and she inspected ’her’ state.
“’I’ should have the strength of a Lesser Devil. Coupled with my abilities and experience, ’I’ should be able to deal with an ordinary True Devil.”, she made a rough judgment.
This level of strength was actually shocking. After all, this body was created merely from one of Liora’s arms.
If she were to cut her other limbs off, wouldn’t that mean that she would be able to get four more True Devil clones?
Once she recovered, would she be able to form an army on her own?
“Unfortunately, things are not that simple.”
“This thing can not be considered a clone, nor is it made from my flesh and blood.”
“In fact, it’s mostly made from Indestructible Matter. The flesh and blood merely serve as a vessel for it.”, Liora thought.
Looking at her own body, she discovered that almost half of her Indestructible Matter had been consumed. Similarly, one-fourth of the Indestructible Matter within her soul had also disappeared.
Seeing this, Liora immediately shook her head.
“No wonder I’ve never heard of any Greater Devil creating an army of clones. It’s simply not worth it.”
“For me, the existence of a True Devil-level clone is meaningless. The amount of help it can provide to me is minimal.”
“Losing so much Indestructible Matter far outweighs the benefits of having a weak clone.”
Understanding this, Liora stopped the experiment.
With a thought, her second self exploded and turned back into blood and flesh, which quickly blended into her left shoulder and helped her recover.
At the same time, the Indestructible Matter that Liora had consumed to create the clone also returned with it.
Although part of it had been lost due to the clone’s activity, the overall consumption was barely noticeable.
“Even if this ability itself is useless, it signifies a lot. The gap in the life level between Devil stages is becoming increasingly apparent.”
“I’m afraid that by the time one becomes an Ancient Devil, their every particle and cell can be considered a different individual.”
“It only requires a thought to create millions of clones.”
Combat power was combat power, while life level was life level. The two should not be confused.
Even if Liora could previously suppress or even kill a Greater Devil before, she didn’t possess such an ability.
But now that she had integrated with more Indestructible Matter, she could achieve something other True Devils could not.
In fact, Liora was no longer considered a real True Devil.
Although she had not advanced yet, her life level had already taken a leap forward. If one had to say, one could regard her as a pseudo-Greater Devil.
