Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 347: Betrayal

Chapter 347: Betrayal
The three Clan Heads who were enveloped by Liora’s aura were forced to stay here.
Retribution “returned” the damage they had previously lashed out, rendering them unable to break free.
Before they could recover, a gray blade formed in front of Liora and shot towards one of her opponents.
It teleported in front of his head and swung horizontally, only barely missing their head and slicing through their neck instead.
Though a golden light flickered and helped the head and the body reattach, the Clan Head who had been targeted was shocked.
Not only because of Liora’s unexpected involvement in the fight, but also because of the power he sensed raging inside his body.
The power was of an extremely high level.
It seemed to devour everything along its path, including his physical body, his vitality, and even his Divine Aura.
“What is this?”, the Demon Sovereign couldn’t help but exclaim in horror as he urged his Divine Aura to suppress the impact.
Though he succeeded, the consumption was shocking.
More than five percent of his Divine Aura had been depleted in an instant.
This amount didn’t seem like much. However, it basically meant that Liora only had to injure him twenty times for him to die.
For beings of their level, such a situation was terrifying.
“Be careful! Her Divine Weapon is weird!”
“Don’t let her power reach your body, otherwise you’ll be in trouble!”, the shocked Demon Sovereign yelled to remind his companions, afraid that they would make the same mistake as him.
In fact, his worries were unnecessary.
These people had already discovered the Clan Head’s state and witnessed the bizarreness of Liora’s blow.
Thus, they immediately stared at the silver umbrella hovering above her head with fear and apprehension.
Liora faced their gazes calmly.
She didn’t rush to launch another attack, but merely floated in front of the three Clan Heads, blocking their path and making them unable to leave.
Her agreement with the Demon God was not for her to kill these people.
As long as she held them back for a while, her part of the deal would be completed.
She had no reason to risk her life and push these people to the brink of death.
Who knew if they suddenly turned crazy and exploded like Mayven?
This was also why Liora decided to showcase the power of Nothingness from the very beginning.
She believed that these people would never dare to act rashly if they knew that she could threaten them.
And her guess was proved correct.
Feeling that Liora might be weaker than the Demon God, but was perhaps even more troublesome, the momentum of the three Clan Heads receded.
Although they brandished their Demon Weapons and tried to pass through her, their attacks had grown less threatening and more wary.
–
On the other side of the battlefield, the Demon God looked at Liora’s situation and frowned subconsciously.
He had long known that Liora was very strong, and, having obtained a Demon Sovereign Weapon, her power was bound to increase even further.
However, he hadn’t expected that Liora would be able to fight against three Demon Sovereigns with ease.
Her combat power might not be any weaker than his.
“Moreover… is this the full extent of her power?”
The Demon God was quite doubtful.
But soon, he shook his head.
He didn’t care how powerful Liora was. In fact, the more powerful she was, the better it was for him.
After all, he understood that his future plans did not clash with Liora’s. If anything, he was going to need her help in the future.
Though many thoughts raced through the Demon God’s mind, not much time passed in reality.
Seeing that there were only three Demon Sovereigns besieging him, he directly took action.
His figure blurred once again and arrived in front of Mayven, who was still stunned by the sudden changes.
His right hand stretched out and clasped the curved blade he was holding, while his other hand struck at his abdomen.
A mouthful of blood flowed out of Mayven’s mouth. He wanted to retreat, but the Demon God pressed him further.
He ignored the attacks coming from behind and didn’t put up any defense, as if he was planning to exchange his own life for Mayven’s.
The Demon God had ample combat experience and was used to being ruthless.
He understood that Mayven was the strongest on the battlefield besides him and Liora. As long as he was killed, the outcome would be sealed.
Even if he had to pay a certain price to achieve this, he was willing!
–
Liora was perhaps the most relaxed person on the entire battlefield.
While fending off the attacks of the three Clan Heads, she even had the time to pay attention to her surroundings.
She was not surprised by the Demon God’s decision. It was fairly obvious that Mayven was the biggest threat among these people.
However, she had a hunch that the Demon God would fail to achieve his purpose.
“Mayven must know my identity.”
“No! He must have guessed my identity the very moment I entered the Ouroboros Clan.”
“My disguise was not effective against Demon Sovereigns before. It was only after the umbrella became a Demon Sovereign Weapon that I was able to better conceal myself and hide my aura.”
“It could be said that my coming to the Demon God’s Cemetery and meeting the Demon God was Mayven’s plan.”
“Does he want me to revive the Demon God?”
“If that’s the case, what’s his source of confidence?”
Liora’s eyes narrowed.
Countless thoughts raced through her as she tried to analyze the situation.
She attempted to think of ways in which Mayven could tilt the scale of balance.
The next moment, she suddenly guessed something.
Her head turned towards another part of the battlefield, a part that almost everyone had forgotten about.
That between the three Hall Masters and Clan Heads.
It was perhaps the most ordinary part of the battlefield, with the six Demon Sovereigns holding each other back without anyone suffering any injuries.
However, as if Liora’s gaze had become a catalyst for the change, something strange soon occurred.
Receiving the attack of one of the Clan Heads, the female one among the Hall Masters was sent flying. Her trajectory coincided with her companion’s location.
No one suspected anything.
But these familiar movements couldn’t help but make Liora speechless.
How similar were this woman’s actions to those of Liora’s before she sneak-attacked the Demon Sovereign?
Guessing something, her mouth opened, and she was about to remind her allies. However, she ultimately shut her mouth and remained silent.
The next moment, the thing she had been waiting for finally happened.
Just as the Hall Master regained her balance, she didn’t turn to fight against the Clan Head, but instead launched an attack at her own companion!
A beast that resembled a scaled lizard emerged above her head before it swallowed the Hall Masters whole.
