Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 395: Assira’s Ambush

Chapter 395: Assira’s Ambush
Liora’s actions sounded complicated and lengthy.
Yet, from the moment she merged with Alpha to the moment Eclipse was cast, only a split second had gone by.
The attack of the Plague Devil had yet to arrive, while the sword fragment in his hand was still shining brightly.
But the next second, that brilliance vanished completely.
As the black hole approached the sword, a large devouring force erupted and swallowed everything around it.
Not only was the power of the attack invalidated, but concepts such as light were also devoured and disappeared.
The already fragmented sword let out a shrill wail, and its power diminished significantly.
As its master, the Plague Devil also suffered backlash. A drop of green blood dripped down his lips.
It was unknown if this was a good or a bad thing, but he didn’t have the time to feel any pain or fear.
After Eclipse bypassed the sword, it arrived right in front of him.
The revolving sphere did not need to land directly on his body.
While it was still a few meters away, its overwhelming devouring force stunned him.
The next moment, his soul was directly pulled out of his body and merged with the black hole.
Within a moment of entering, his consciousness was wiped out, and his soul turned into nourishment.
A loud crashing sound echoed. His lifeless body collapsed to the ground with a bang.
The Plague Devil was dead!
This True Spirit Greater Devil, who had a very high chance of becoming an Archdevil, had died unwillingly!
His plans of controlling this maze, obtaining all the treasures, and becoming a Ruler of the Demon World had stopped before they even began!
The projection hovering above Liora’s head vanished.
At the same time, Alpha’s mechanical core emerged from her body and landed beside her before it took form.
Seeing that Alpha was still fine, she couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
She wiped at the nonexistent sweat on her forehead and glanced at the Plague Devil’s corpse with a complicated gaze.
“No Greater Devil can be underestimated. Everyone who has reached this point is extremely talented and has had various opportunities.”
“Especially after these guys arrived at this place, their trump cards have been significantly strengthened. Even I have to be careful.”, she thought silently.
For her, the Plague Devil was nothing. If they were to fight one-on-one, she could easily suppress him just like she had suppressed the Devil at the Universe Chamber of Commerce.
Yet, after this Devil had entered this place, controlled the undead, and obtained the sword fragment, even she had to be cautious.
If the Plague Devil was like this, the other True Spirit Greater Devils were bound not to be any easier to deal with.
“My Lord! My Lord! Thank you! Thank you for killing this villain!”
“You don’t know, but this person has betrayed the Universe Chamber of Commerce!”
“If it were not for your timely help, the mission would have failed!”
“Don’t worry! Once we leave this place, I will request that the organization reward you handsomely!”
Just when Liora was thinking, the Earth Devil on the side stumbled forward and spoke excitedly.
Funnily, before this person could remain someone else’s servant for long, his master had already perished.
From start to finish, he had been enslaved for barely more than a couple of minutes before he regained his freedom.
Some might have called him lucky. However, Liora looked at him with a strange gaze.
Soon, she discovered something, causing her eyes to light up.
“No wonder. How could there be such a coincidence in the world?”
“It seems that you coming out of the formation was not random. Do you wish to have me confront the Plague Devil?”, she whispered in a low voice.
A confused expression appeared on the Earth Devil’s face, and he couldn’t understand what she was saying.
His confusion was not faked. It was his real, undisguised emotions.
He shook his head repeatedly.
“I don’t understand what Your Excellency is talking about. If you wish to get the Archdevil Technique, I’m willing to hand it over to you.”
“All I ask is that you follow your agreement with the Universe Chamber of Commerce and help us deal with the Zerg Queen.”, he stated and made a move to give her the technique.
Liora, however, didn’t reach out to grab it.
Instead, her eyes became deeper, and she stared at the Earth Devil for a few more seconds before her demonic energy wrapped around him and pulled him in front of her.
Before the opponent could react, his head was held tightly by Liora’s hand. He had no way to resist.
His gaze soon grew blank, as her consciousness entered his body and investigated it from within.
It didn’t take her long to find what she was searching for. Only a few seconds later, Liora’s consciousness located his soul space and dug inside of it.
The first thing she saw upon entering was the curse mark that the Plague Devil had previously planted on him.
This was a powerful enslavement ability, but its brilliance had dimmed significantly as a result of its caster’s death.
Liora didn’t focus on this for long.
Her consciousness continued sweeping through the dark soul space, seemingly looking for something else.
In the end, she succeeded. It was a cluster of pink mist, swirling around the soul space as if out of control.
The moment Liora’s consciousness touched it, she felt a flame rise within her body.
A seductive female voice echoed in her mind, followed by an innocent chuckle that tugged on her heartstrings.
Liora did not require an explanation. Even though it was only a remnant power, a voice left behind, she instantly recognized its owner.
It was Assira, the Succubus working for the Astral Pavilion, and the only Greater Devil she had met before the mission.
As soon as this realization struck, Liora seemed to have realized something and wanted to take her consciousness back.
But it was already too late.
The pink mist within the soul space suddenly squirmed. It transformed into a rune and landed on her.
The eyes of Liora outside lost their vitality for a brief second.
But by the time she regained her consciousness, a gentle, soft touch had reached her back.
