Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress - Chapter 415: Third Eye

Chapter 415: Third Eye
Under the incredulous gazes of the people around her, a third eye emerged in Liora’s forehead, right above the space between her eyebrows.
An indifferent golden pupil appeared at its very center and stared straight at the location where Liora was also looking.
Before anyone could react to this sudden phenomenon, a flicker of golden lightning flashed across the pupil.
The next moment, a powerful light shot out.
Its speed was astonishing, while its mere aura caused the space around it to tremble violently.
Instantly, the light arrived at the space where Liora had previously sensed the earlier movement.
Once it entered a certain range, a thunderous crash echoed.
As if the veil put up by someone to conceal the truth had been unveiled, the entire scene shattered like broken glass.
Beneath the previous empty space, a fleeing figure appeared.
It was a beautiful woman with long dark hair and a pale yet captivating face.
Her aura was fluctuating violently, making it obvious that she had suffered severe injuries.
Despite this, her speed was outstanding, not much slower than the speed with which the Commander had broken out before.
Liora could only see the woman’s back, but she immediately recognized her.
It was the Zerg Queen.
Clearly, her previous act of surrendering had been just that—a mere act.
Taking advantage of the time that the Commander had kept Liora busy and her subsequent momentary pause, the Zerg Queen had taken the opportunity to try to escape.
Sure enough, the moment Liora’s eyes landed on the escaping figure, the “Zerg Queen” kneeling in front of her collapsed to the ground.
Only a carapace-covered skin remained rolled over like a blanket, as if she were a cicada that had left its empty shell behind.
“If it had been any other Greater Devil, or even a somewhat weak Archdevil, they would have been fooled by your act.”
“Unfortunately for you, you happened to meet me…”, Liora couldn’t help but shake her head and muttered.
She didn’t take action to stop the Zerg Queen.
Instead, she remained completely motionless, as if she were planning to let the opponent go.
However, that was obviously impossible.
Though Liora did not move, the golden light that had just shot out of her third eye and shattered the previous illusion continued unabated.
Although the Zerg Queen was extremely fast, the light was even faster.
Before she could go very far, the golden light had arrived before her and struck her.
The moment it touched her body, the expected impact did not occur.
Instead, the golden light quickly vanished and seeped into her, while the Zerg Queen resumed her escape.
Liora’s activation of her ability seemed to have failed.
Or at least, this was what the surrounding Greater Devils were thinking.
Only Assira seemed to have discovered something. For the first time since Liora met her, her mouth opened slightly in astonishment.
Even though she quickly hid it and her expression returned to normal, her reaction still fell into Liora’s eyes.
Before she could think this through, though, a shrill scream woke her up.
The fleeing Zerg Queen in the distance suddenly paused abruptly, and her momentum halted.
After she let out an earth-shattering scream, her body collapsed to the ground, just like her shell had done before.
In the eyes of the Greater Devils in the clearing, her soul was ejected from her body and appeared in the outside world.
Judging from her confusion and lack of any intelligence in her eyes, it was obvious that she had died.
No one understood how this had happened.
Maybe Assira had some suspicions, but the only person who could truly know was Liora herself.
After collecting the Zerg Queen’s soul, Liora waved her hand and collected her corpse too, placing it in her Space Orb for future use.
Then, she calmly raised her hand and gently traced it on her forehead, smoothening the gap across it in the process.
In the blink of an eye, the golden eye had retreated into her body.
From start to finish, it had appeared for only a split second.
If it were not for everyone here being extraordinary, no one would have even noticed its emergence.
Still, despite such a short time, a trace of exhaustion could be seen in Liora’s eyes.
Activating the golden eye had taken a heavy toll on her soul.
However, she wasn’t saddened by this at all.
If anything, she was inwardly quite excited.
“Indeed. The power of the soul is quite mysterious.”
“Although my soul has just transformed and I haven’t walked very far in this path, this power is quite overwhelming.”
“Moreover, no one seems to know how to defend against it. Even a Zerg Queen, who is famous for her illusions, is completely defenseless.”, Liora thought.
Secretly, she operated the unknown technique she had just obtained to help her soul recover from the consumption.
Unbeknownst to everyone, part of her vitality and physical strength were converted into soul power, flowing into her soul space and her soul body and helping them recover.
This was the main function of the technique that Liora had obtained from the three trials.
By using her physical strength as fuel, she could choose to feed back into her soul, allowing it not only to recover from consumption but also to strengthen it.
Similarly, the opposite was also true.
If Liora wished to, she could consume her soul power to reinforce her physical body, making its power even greater.
Of course, this was of no benefit to Liora at the moment.
Her physical strength was far stronger than her soul due to the practice of the Crimson Annihilation Technique.
Before the two reached an equilibrium, it would be better to work to strengthen her soul.
“Moreover, I can feel that once this happens, I will undergo another massive transformation.”, Liora judged.
Soon, she shook her head.
Having recovered from the previous consumption and regained most of her strength, Liora didn’t think for any longer and shifted her focus back to reality.
Her gaze instantly fell onto the Greater Devils who had gathered here, all of whom were subordinates of the Commander and the Universe Chamber of Commerce.
Because of the short time it had taken her to deal with their leader and the Zerg Queen, these people had not even tried to escape.
Thus, Liora didn’t have to go through difficulty to locate them in the maze.
Without waiting for these people to plead for mercy, she calmly waved her hand.

My schedule should return to normal from today on and I will do my best to resume the normal uploading schedule.
Also, since someone requested it of me, I will add an auxiliary Chapter with more information regarding the book. Possibly later today or tomorrow.
