First Demonic Dragon - Chapter 1030: Motive for A Crime

Chapter 1030: Motive for A Crime
The doorbell rang shortly after Steven saw his father get out of the car.
Loki, who was still aware of everything going on, yelled from the sofa again.
“DoorDash? It better be Wing Stop! I know you’ve got the money, damn it, so none of that cheap shit!”
“Shut it, god!”
“Fuck you, I want my own ranches!”
Steven rushed back into the living room and hissed at the ancient deity. “Would you be quiet…! Make yourself invisible, my bitch dad is here!”
Loki was both intrigued and disappointed by that knowledge. He really had his heart set on Wing Stop.
He sighed as he leaned back into his seat casually.
“Powers aren’t exactly working inside this hamster ball you’ve caged me in.”
“Bull. The barrier just prevents you from doing anything to get out, it doesn’t stop you from messing with your own body while you’re in there. Or don’t you know that already!?”
“Are my nightly audible masturbation sessions bothering you?”
“YES!”
“Huh. Funny. It’s almost like men should have their own spaces to live how they want.”
The doorbell rang again, and Steven began to form beads of sweat around his brow.
“Just turn yourself into a pillow cushion or something…! You stay quiet, then you can eat all the damned chicken you want!”
Loki was apparently enticed enough by the offer to cooperate.
When Steven blinked again, he could no longer see the god lingering around on his sofa in his underwear.
Huffing, Steven moved to the door after the third ring.
He went to the door and opened it only to glare and put on a hateful expression.
“What do you want, loser?”
Steven’s father was a painfully ordinary man. No one had ever really said a bad word about him, and he was well respected by his wife, daughters, and coworkers.
He had a kind face, with a head of black hair that had started to turn grey with age.
A pair of circular silver glasses sat on the bridge of his nose- giving him a wise but slightly comical appearance.
“Is that really any way to speak to the father you haven’t seen in two years…?”
“How’d you find me?” Steven ignored him.
“I never lost track of you. I hired a private investigator to keep tabs when you left home.”
Steven’s mood worsened even further. He had been putting so much time and effort into hiding from gods and monsters that he hadn’t even begun to pay attention to the humans.
“So you can’t even respect my attempts to get away from you, even when I’m multiple states away! God, that is so like you!”
His father stepped inside of the house despite his son’s obstinacy.
“Your grandmother says you’re in trouble. Some people came to the house looking for you yesterday.”
Steven’s already pale expression lost even more color. “What… What kind of people..?”
“The kind who aren’t exactly ’people’.” His father answered.
He continued to look around the house as if he were searching for something. He didn’t seem to notice, or care about his son’s sudden loss of color.
“I’m here now, so we can help you figure this out. First, we need to let go of whoever you’ve got here, and…”
Steven’s father finally reached the living room, where a circle of sulfur spanned roughly ten or twelve feet in diameter.
“I’m not l-letting go of anyone just yet.” Steven suddenly said. “Not until it’s over.”
There were many questions Steven’s father wanted to ask at that moment. But one took priority over the others.
“What is that?” He pointed to the circle of sulfur on the floor.
“…None of your business, human.
“Now, gosh darn it, Steven, I’ve had enough of this malarkey! I’ve been married to your mother for a long time, young man, and I know what sulfur smells like! I also know it’s a binding agent for trapping beings who don’t want to be trapped!”
“Wow… he’s good.”
“Jimminy cricket!”
Steven’s father nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw a man suddenly appear on the sofa.
The only saving grace to this situation was that Loki wasn’t in his underwear anymore.
Although the prison jumpsuit he was wearing didn’t exactly give this whole thing a better outlook.
“Is it chow time yet, Warden..?” Loki made sure to rattle his handcuffs to elicit even more pity.
Steven was mad enough to spit.
“Sweet sassafras, who is this?!”
Steven’s father easily walked through the barrier and tried to help Loki.
“W-Whoever you are, let me be the first to apologize for my son’s behavior! H-He’s a sweet boy, he just has some behavioral issues when he’s not been taking his medication, and-”
“S-Stop talking to him about my medication!” Steven snapped. “And stop touching him!”
“He’s right…” Loke sighed pathetically. “You probably shouldn’t touch me…”
“Oh poppycock, I’m getting you out of here.”
“It’s not what you think… your son gave me aids…!”
“WHAT!?”
Steven’s father was horrified by so many parts of that statement that he couldn’t pick just one if he tried.
“Steven… how could you..? After all of the books I read to you about safe sexual intercourse!”
“W-What?! Would you-”
“And I highly doubt that this man was in a position to give proper consent if you have him chained up in your living room!”
Loki sniffled and wiped a tear from his eye. “H-He said… that I needed a prison colonoscopy…!”
“Oh my god…” Steven’s father began to get woozy.
Finally, the boy natched his father out of the barrier.
“Stop being an idiot, old man! You apparently know so much, but not enough to be able to tell when you’re being lied to by a trickster god!”
Steven’s father blinked slowly. “Trickster… god..?”
Loki dropped the act and went back to sitting on the couch and watching TV. “That was fun. Almost made being kidnapped worth it.”
“K-Kidnapped..?”
“Yeah, your son’s holding me and three other deities hostage. I’m getting the better end of the stick though, since he’s not using my powers in a half-baked plot to end the world and all the humans in it.”
Horrified, Steven’s father slowly turned around to stare at the son he no longer seemed to recognize.
“My boy… tell me that’s not true.”
The child would not grant his father’s wish this time.
Steven slowly backed away from his father while wearing a hard-to-read expression.
“It… it has to be done. I’m sick of everyone judging me. Keeping secrets from me, treating me like I’m less than a man..! I want all of you to disappear! Since no one in this world is going to act like they give a shit about me, I might as well end the entire fucking world early!”
Before Steven’s father could talk him down, his son brandished a knife and pointed it at his father.
“S-Steven!? What is the meaning of thi-”
“You shut up, old man! You’re the worst one! If you had’ve stood up for me more, i-if you had acted like a fucking man, then none of those bitches in that house would have run all over me!”
For the very first time, Steven’s father showed him a scowl that he didn’t recognize.
“I know you and your sisters had some issues. But that’s no excuse for you to call them such a foul term. Especially not after everything you’ve done to them.”
“Them, them, them, it’s always them! They’re the special ones, they’re the only ones granny wants to teach magic to, right!? Well, the joke is on them because I figured it all out without her! So how’s that for being fucking special!?”
Loki desperately wished that he had prepared a bit of popcorn ahead of time. Things were simply getting far too interesting for him to be without it.
And when he noticed movement in the corner of the room, he knew that things were about to get far more interesting.
“Your quarrel is with me, Stephen. Leave the rest of our family out of it…”
Slowly, both men turned towards the doorway where Baba Yaga stood just out of sight.
Immediately, Steven’s mood went from bad to explosive.
“Why are you here!? WHY THE FUCK IS SHE HERE!?”
Stephen pointed the blade at his father again.
“It was you, wasn’t it!? You brought her here!”
“W-What..?” Stephen’s father held up his hands. “No, I didn’t-”
“Stop lying! You’re always fucking lying!”
Loki began to get a bad feeling. “H-Hey kid, I don’t care about patricide, but maybe now we shouldn’t be-”
“ALL OF YOU SHUT UP!”
Everything happened so fast.
Steven rushed forward with the knife.
He stabbed his father in the neck without hesitating.
With his anger driving him, he removed the blade and stabbed his father three times over in the neck and chest before Baba Yaga could pull him away.
As Steven’s father dropped to the floor, Loki brought his hands to his head and began to panic fervently.
“Holy shit, holy shit…. WHAT DID YOU DO, KID!?”
Baba Yaga seemed to be the only other person who knew why he was so afraid. But it was too late to do anything.
An earthquake assailed the house.
It knocked over everything that wasn’t nailed down and broke glass with dreadful ease.
Steven, even in his great anger, seemed to notice something was wrong when his grandmother and Loki began wearing the same pitiful expressions.
“W-What is that..?”
Baba Yaga didn’t answer. She didn’t even lift her head up from the floor.
Loki- dejected and holding his head, was the only one who bothered to answer.
“Death.”
At that moment, the entire roof collapsed.
