First Demonic Dragon - Chapter 1124 - Capítulo 1124: Existential Nemesis Magic

Capítulo 1124: Existential Nemesis Magic
– Yggdrasil
The base of a world tree is about as sacred and mythical of a domain as the immortal lands can conceptualize.
With the trees’ roots being one of the single hardest materials in creation, no one is ever really very keen to set foot in such a domain, lest they risk falling into a prison few can come out of.
And with the temperament of certain sentient trees, it’s a very high possibility that one could end up trapped as a source of entertainment for the viscous foliage.
Yggdrasil has turned her roots into a luscious green and watery oasis that is no different from her own personal paradise.
Since having the idea, her sense of vanity had only become worse.
She reclined back in a lawn chair, sipping water from a coconut as she basked in the infinitely beautiful rays of the sprawling cosmos.
*Sigh* “I am awesome…”
Yggdrasil was so old that she was already stuck in her ways. No one other than perhaps Asherah would have had any hope for her.
“Hmm….?”
Yggdrasil pulled down her sunglasses, believing her vision had betrayed her.
It hadn’t. She really did see a very large dragon approaching with five pissant angels right on it’s heels.
Her response, of course, was totally normal and measured.
“NOOOOO!!! Stay away, stay away, stay away!!!”
The roots of the great tree suddenly ripped themselves from their place and shot towards the incoming party like spears.
In response, the dragon opened it’s multiple maws and unleashed calamitous volleys of flaming lightning.
“Yggdrasil, stop attacking, we have an emergency!”
“Eat shit, pussy breath!”
Yggdrasil proceeded to try her attack again, only this time her roots were strengthened by magic and rotated like drills.
‘Unbelievable… she really doesn’t like me.’ Abaddon couldn’t figure out what he had done to warrant this kind of treatment from the small tree spirit.
“Little help here…!”
Suddenly, two figures crawled into view atop two of Abaddon’s heads.
The tree roots instantly came to a halt.
‘The favoritism is unbelievable…’ Abaddon wanted to complain, but he didn’t have the time at that point.
He landed inside of Yggdrasil’s oasis as the little girl was already rushing towards him.
“Eri-Poohhh! I missed you!!”
Yggdrasil tackled Eris warmly and buried her face in her chest.
“You came to see me! And you brought Asherah-mommy.”
‘Such favoritism…’ Everyone else on Abaddon’s back had to pretend they were not bothered by the fact that they were being blatantly ignored.
Valerie and Lillian were also visibly annoyed by the way that Yggdrasil had placed her head between Eris’ breasts as if she owned them.
“Yggy, sweetie, I’m sorry, but this isn’t just a social visit. We need access to your pools.”
Eris showed Yggdrasil the man lying down behind her. Yesh waved at her weakly, his eyes and his mind barely cognizant.
“Hello, dear… It’s wonderful to see you again, I just wish that I were… in better condition to greet you.”
Yggdrasil was visibly shaken.
“G-Get him inside!”
Asherah lifted Yesh up with her mind and flew down towards the oasis.
There were numerous crystal blue pools dotting the surface. Asherah simply picked the largest one and placed Yesh inside of it.
Sure enough, once Yesh was inside the water, the black sludge clogging up his body’s functions seemed to ooze out from the wound on his stomach.
The roots of Yggdrasil slithered towards the pool and began secreting a minimal amount of healing sap.
Yesh finally seemed to stop deteriorating after giving the party the scare of their lives. Uriel was particularly beside herself with worry.
“Why wouldn’t you just let us land!? We could have run out of time!” She snapped.
“Pipe down, pigeon… I didn’t know it was something this serious.” Yggdrasil scratched the back of her head awkwardly.
Azrael wisely decided to stand in between his sister and the tree, for fear that she would do something to needlessly compromise their relationship.
“We are just grateful that you made the decision to aid us, gentle tree. You were our first thought for aid.”
“I would assume so. Considering your mother has been washing his wounds with my sap for the better part of his incapacitation…”
Yggdrasil looked towards Asherah for answers. “How did he get like this..?”
“H-He was… better suddenly… and then he was not. I can only surmise that he was too excitable and exacerbated his condition.”
Yggdrasil looked Yesh over a few times and picked up his hand to touch.
Her brow furrowed.
“…He should probably stay here for the time being. Less jeopardy that way.”
“I won’t object to that.” Asherah agreed.
Yesh looked embarrassed.
“So much fussing over one old man… I’m quite ashamed of the amount of work you are all being subjected to on my behalf.”
“Please, stop it with the humility.” Abaddon’s scaly form went up in smoke, and he floated down to the surface of the lake.
“We’re all just grateful that you’re even still around to be old and needy. But complaining about being old and needy is where we draw the line.”
“What a terribly crass line…” Yesh murmured to himself.
Abaddon ignored him but walked to his side and sat down.
“Now, if we could ever get you better and out of this fish bowl, we can get you a wheelchair to roll around in like a proper old man.”
“You aren’t far from needing one yourself. After what I’ve told you, is it still not clicking that you aren’t that much younger than me?”
“You will take that back or I will hold you under.”
Yesh laughed with as much strength as he could muster, seemingly impervious to the reality of his very vulnerable state.
Uriel and her siblings watched Abaddon and Yesh chat as if no time had passed between the two of them.
Abaddon wasn’t necessarily doing anything out of character, and he wasn’t thinking about much more than chatting with an old friend.
However, even if unintentional, his actions did a great deal to help Yesh’s wife and children.
It was nice to see someone in such a sick state show shades of their former self.
And for once, the conversation had no tension. There was no talk of world-destroying powers or how things in the multiverse were gradually becoming more and more uncertain.
Things were completely normal.
Until, of course, they weren’t.
It started out so simple. Yesh was asking about family, and with everyone present, that naturally included a very special case.
“And Bekka… Did you ever find your mother again?”
Bekka nodded with traces of applesauce on her lips.
“Yup, questioning that decision every day, but she’s good for a laugh and a roadmap of what not to do.”
Yesh laughed again. “I’m glad to hear she’s still as lively as ever. I hope she is quite happy in your home.”
Bekka’s lip trembled awkwardly. In the back of her mind, she thought she should have said ‘she’s fine’ and continued the conversation, but Yesh was an easy-to-talk-to individual.
“She’s… a little pissy with me, or I guess Ayaana at the moment.” Bekka finally admitted.
“We’re keeping her at home for the time being while the rest of the family’s out adventuring, and she’s not really taking it all that well… plus she finally laid her eyes on Nyx’s youngest son, so she’s been like a dog in heat the past few days, but I digress.”
“I see… well, your mother is an adult, capable woman. I’m sure that being told to stay home as if she were Odessa’s age is quite a struggle for her…Why *cough* did you make that request?”
Bekka swallowed hard. Everyone underneath the shade of Yggdrasil’s tree felt her mood change subtly.
Even Yesh, as debilitated as he was.
“…If I have asked an uncomfortable question, then-”
“No, no.” Bekka shook her head. “It’s just… we’re pretty sure that it is the goal of Lucifer and his new army to capture my mother.”
Asherah had been relatively silent so far, but something about the conversation seemed to disturb her deeply. “What? Why would you believe that??”
Abaddon and his wives looked at each other awkwardly. The time had come for them to have a conversation they’d been avoiding.
“…During all of that madness with Percival, he got into our house by possessing Ziz. So, he saw all of his memories and gained knowledge on the secret interworkings of our family.”
All of Asherah’s eyes widened in horror. “Don’t tell me… does this include your mother’s-”
“Yeah.” Bekka lowered her head.
“Why are you only saying something about this now, Bekka?!”
“Because I knew what you would ask me to do, and I can’t do that to my mother!”
“Timeout.” Raphael made an X with his hands. “What’s Bekka’s mother have aside from an overactive libido?”
Yggdrasil was the one to answer. “Existential Nemesis Magic.”
“Okay, now I feel like you all are just making stuff up.” Raphael folded his arms.
“It’s very real.” Yesh sat up within the water. “And she’s the last person who has it.”
“How can that be possible?”
Yesh sighed and looked toward Asherah.
The blue-skinned goddess was clearly bothered, but she offered clarity nonetheless.
“Tehom has always been made out of the flesh that was discarded when Abaddon and Yresh had their first battle eons ago.
Abaddon is essentially a clone of Azathoth placed into a different mold, but at the height of his powers, his body and blood have much the same properties.
So much so that you could almost say he’s his biological child.”
‘That makes me uncomfortable…’
“Azathoth had a rather dangerous ability to destroy anything that Yesh created by using nothing more than his own resentment.
It is the reason why the fight took so long, and why your father made the decision that Azathoth had to be sealed.
Now, back to Abaddon. As Azathoth’s genetic duplicate, there is a shared heritage between the two.
With Abaddon’s discarded flesh looming over the abyss for so long, the lingering magic created an entirely new race of individuals called abyss walkers.
Karliah is a part of the first generation who has Azathoth’s powers before they were sterilized. She and roughly sixty-five-”
“Sixty-two.” Yesh corrected.
“Sixty-two others were capable of using magic reminiscent of Azathoth’s power.
And with the rise of the first Abyss King, some of them started leaving the dark to destroy and upheave whatever they could, through whatever means they were able.
They believed they were working to spread the power and influence of their new lord and eventual savior.
Their destruction is what inspired your father and I to create the Maker bloodline.
Before that, Yesh and I descended into the dark once more to euthanize the magic at it’s source.
Using a tremendous amount of power, we were able to not only strip the dark power from those who were born with it, but we were also able to cleanse the infected land so that the creatures born going forward would only be mindless beasts.”
Raphael scratched the back of his head. “Sounds like an unusual amount of work for you two… why go through all that? I mean, there are a lot of destructive powers already, right? Why’s that one such a big deal?”
“You’re missing the point. It’s not just destruction, it’s upheaval. And without an equally strong creative force, there’s nothing that can be done to fix what has been broken.
That means, if Karliah decides she wants the world to be upside down, or two-dimensional, or devoid of color, she can do it just by being angry enough.
In addition, the power is easily transferable, but difficult to take. We only gained notice of it when demons in Hell began to destroy the cages that kept them inside.”
“Okay… so then why did you let her keep the power? No, why is she even still alive?!”
“HEY!” Bekka snapped.
“I say that respectfully.”
Yesh and Asherah looked to each other, as if to ask who between them was more deserving of blame…
I fucked up again. I been trying to do big boy shit and watch horror stuff because I’m grown now and I should be able to handle it. I watched that new It show and i need new underwear. I’m stealing my daughter nightlight when i go home.
