First Demonic Dragon - Chapter 1156: Interrupted

Chapter 1156: Interrupted
Abaddon and his wives angrily cleaned themselves up and changed the sheets.
All except for Lillian and Lisa, who got dressed with pep in their step and skipped to the door while holding hands.
After checking to make sure that the room was decent and you couldn’t smell what they had been doing, the girls opened the door with uncannily large smiles.
“Well, hello there, Zheng.” Lisa cheesed. “What seems to be the-”
Sif threw a pillow so fast and hard that she broke the sound barrier.
Zheng was knocked flat on his back, much to the horror of Lisa and Lillian.
“”Sif!!””
Abaddon, Bekka, and Izanami put down the pillows they were gearing up to throw as well.
Lillian kneeled down and helped a stunned Zheng get to his feet.
“Are you alright, my son-in-law?”
Zheng looked like he had been hit by a trailer.
His eyes were barely lucid, and even his hair was awkwardly strewn all over the place.
“I-It’s Nubia, she…”
“”Congratulations!”” Lillian and Lisa threw their hands up jovially.
Confetti and miniature fireworks fluttered out of their sleeves and danced atop Zheng’s head.
“… I haven’t even said what happened yet.”
Lillian and Lisa put their hands down slowly.
“W-We were just guessing it was something good.”
“Y-Yes, a simple hypothesis.” Lisa nodded furiously.
Zheng slowly intruded into the room like a member of the walking dead. “Please excuse me…”
Lailah flipped him off drunkenly. “Not excus-”
Eris quickly placed her hand over her wife’s mouth.
Zheng trudged over to the sofa and flopped face down into the leather.
His voice was muffled, but everyone could still hear him just fine.
“It’s Nubia… she and Yemaya found a way to revive Yggdrasil, and now she wants to raise her.”
Everyone in the room quickly forgot their anger and became pleasantly surprised by the news. Zheng was suddenly swarmed.
“Oh, that’s wonderful!” Eris clapped.
Seras patted him on the back so hard that she left handprints. “I’m so happy for all three of you!”
Bekka shook him fervently. “Have you thought of a name? Or are you sticking with Yggdrasil??”
“I have to say, I’m really surprised by how long it’s taken our kids to make us grandparents. Our husband tried to get me pregnant on the first night.” Valerie rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
“That’s just because he has a breeding kink.” Tatiana shrugged.
Abaddon opened his mouth to protest, but slowly closed it as he remembered his first night with each of his wives.
“…Oh my god.” Abaddon held his head in his hands.
All Valerie could do was pat him on the back consolingly.
In the face of so much jubilation, Zheng didn’t actually look any closer to feeling better. “I know nothing about being a father. I have never even gazed upon the man and woman who conceived me.”
“Well, you’re not going to abandon your child, Zheng.” Audrina said pointedly.
“Because Nubby would break your legs if you tried!” Seras smiled.
Zheng didn’t have any plans of abandoning his child anyway. But the mention of his wife’s fierce nature caused his skin to turn even paler than before.
“I don’t suppose you all have any advice for me..?”
Suddenly, Zheng heard the sound of what sounded like scratching.
The only difference was, these scratches were coming at over a thousand miles per second.
Zheng looked up and found Abaddon frantically writing inside a large binder that had seemingly been pulled from thin air.
After scribbling down a full list of precise, detailed text on each page, Abaddon started to chuck the book at Zheng.
However, when he saw the looks he was receiving from Lillian and Lisa, he wisely decided to just hand it over to the desperate dragon instead.
“Great!” Lisa clapped her hands together. “Now, while you look over that, we’re going to get a peek at our newest little grandbaby!”
“But we-” Valerie began.
“We. Are. Going. To. See. The. Baby.” Lisa repeated with a smile that wasn’t a smile.
Defeated, the remaining ten slowly trudged out of the room.
They took a small break to flip Zheng off as they left the room.
This resulted in a flurry of lightning bolts being hurled at their heads.
’…I hope I didn’t interrupt anything…’ Zheng cracked open his 500-page binder and got to reading.
–
Abaddon had to admit it to himself. He was actually quite glad that Lillian and Lisa had talked them all into coming out of the room.
It was always nice to have new members of the family around, and baby Yggdrasil was very cute.
Abaddon almost couldn’t believe this was the same small fry who had called him a great big pussy a few years ago.
“…We should probably institute a swear jar around here while you’re getting big.” Abaddon thought.
In response, baby Yggdrasil cooed happily and reached for her grandfather’s finger.
“…I don’t know if you can understand me yet, but I would quite literally die for you.”
Yggdrasil indeed did not understand him.
“When am I getting grandchildren from the rest of you?” Abaddon looked up at several of his daughters-in-law.
Monica blushed at the question. “W-Well, right now, Straga and I are still enjoying each other every day, and I don’t quite think either of us is really ready for a baby to change that, you know?”
Tiamat leaned back and pulled up her shirt. “And ruin this waistline? Done it before, not in a rush for it to happen again.”
Stheno lay on the floor with her feet swinging as she thumbed through a manga. “I do not know if I am quite the motherly type. I find it difficult to be properly affectionate.”
“Aww, that’s not true.” Melanie rubbed her back. “You’re the sweetest in the world, my darling.”
Stheno’s cheeks darkened as she buried her face deeper into her manga. “Not in front of everyone else, pookie-bear… it is most embarrassing.”
“Well, you need not worry about me, father-in-law. It is my ultimate dream to have a child with Thrudd whose power is thus far unseen and causes the dregs beneath them to tuck their heads in fear and run like the fodder they are.” Behemoth stuck her chest out with pride.
Abaddon was completely unsure as to how he was supposed to take that.
“Ummm… okay then. As long as the three of you can be happy together.”
Apophis came back into the living room, eating an abomination that appeared to be a churro in between French toast.
“Would you stop trying to rush all of us? Not everyone is in a hurry to just pop out kids like you and mom were.”
Abaddon raised his brow. “You’re over 10,000 years old now. How much more time do you need?”
“M-More than you think! Don’t try and spoil our youth!” Apophis pointed.
Most of the daughters-in-law nodded in agreement. Abaddon decided he didn’t feel like opening up this can of worms today.
“Hey, Peter-Pan. I need you to run an errand for me.”
“Nobody else you can ask?”
“Of course there is, but you just so happen to be right in front of me.”
Apophis’ face soured.
“Don’t worry, it’s not much. I just need you to go around the heavenly domains and warn them to bolster their defenses as much as they can and start putting more thought into their evacuation routes.”
“…Any particular reason?”
“Your mother had another vision. Something’s coming, and apparently it’s a real threat. She wants people prepared.”
“Isn’t this the kind of thing that falls under Zheng’s responsibility now?”
Abaddon pointed across the room.
Zheng, Adeline, and Nubia had their noses buried in the notebook Abaddon had written.
They weren’t aware of anything that had taken place in the past fifteen minutes. Studying had consumed them.
“…I see.”
“Uh-huh.” Abaddon put his hand down. “Take Gandora, she hasn’t been out in a while, and I think it’s making her antsy.”
As if responding to having her name called, a large rottweiler rushed into the room with her tongue and tail wagging in unison.
The collar around her neck glowed brilliantly and engulfed her body.
When the glow died down, Apophis was staring at a very excited and very large grey lizard.
He scratched underneath her chin affectionately, but paused when he thought of something else he’d placed on the to-do list.
“Can I take the young ones?”
Abaddon paused and looked up at his son. “…You’re certainly welcome to try. But Odie has never ridden on Gandora before, so she might get a little queasy. And K’ael might be a bit obstinate when it comes to riding with his sister.”
“Leave all that to me. I’ll have them getting along better than ever by the time we get back.” Apophis said assuredly.
He ran off with Gandora before his father could say anything else.
Abaddon turned his head towards his youngest grandchild and brushed a bit of her hair out of her face.
’Everything will probably be fine… right?’
