First Demonic Dragon - Chapter 1216: The Long Lost

Chapter 1216: The Long Lost
Days pass and leave behind a strange new normal.
Early in the morning, Abaddon stared out his bedroom window and stared across his lawn.
There was a second house on his property now. A simple, one-story home with a cobblestone pathway woven between the two.
As for why… he couldn’t say.
Eternity was an odd character. In some moments, he was serious, and in others, he was just plain hard to understand.
Abaddon thought that, since he wanted to experience mortal life so badly, he would travel everywhere else but here and they could have him out of their hair.
But in the same way that Oblivion is always at the end of one’s path, time was all-encompassing from conception to the end of the universe.
Eternity was technically seeing and experiencing many things from the comfort of the rocking chair on his porch.
It was still early now. But at exactly 6:30, Eternity would come sit on his porch and stare at the house.
He would do so in such a blatant manner that Abaddon would be completely unable to ignore him.
Then, at the moment anyone stepped outside of the house, he would yell ’Morning, Neighbor!’ Loud enough that he could be heard all the way from his seat. He was polite enough that he goaded people into inviting him inside.
Abaddon’s mothers were the easiest targets for entry.
Eternity also chatted abundantly with the delivery drivers, mailmen, and sanitation workers who came by the house.
He disturbed them by knowing most everything about them before they even opened their mouths. Similarly, since this was the South, they were unsure what to make of him since, when he wore a robe, it was impossible to tell if he was a man or a flat-chested woman.
Abaddon was beside himself. His perfect little corner of the world was being encroached upon by Father Time and his unceasing waves of antics.
Could a man truly not have anything for himself?
Abaddon starts to go in for another sip of the coffee in his thermos.
However, it doesn’t get very close to his lips before it is stolen away by a pretty face.
“Look at you… staring out the window all menacingly.” Erica giggles with a hushed whisper.
Abaddon immediately feels he is being made fun of. “I’m making sure he’s not poking his gaze in here to spy on us.”
“The wards are still active. He can find us; he just can’t see what we’re doing in here. You know that.”
“…Mira helped him buy a pair of binoculars at the grocery store yesterday. I would bet any amount of money that he is going to enchant them and try to peer at us while we’re unaware.”
This was another of Abaddon’s current predicaments. Eternity had become unnecessarily close with his daughter.
Their friendship is a completely unexpected and hard-to-understand dynamic. It seems to consist of Mira coming up with a hare-brained scheme to cure their boredom.
Or… more like Mira’s boredom. Eternity found everything somewhat interesting and agreed to the bulk of Mira’s requests.
On Sunday, they raced to the moon. A strange endeavor that should have never produced a clear victor, since Mira can travel to her place of power at any time she felt like it, and Eternity could move anywhere instantly.
Eternity beat her six different times. Her pets had to console her as she wept from the shame of defeat.
But then, Mira thought of a way to get even by seeing who could finish a bowl of ice cream the fastest. Eternity, who was living in his first semi-human body, was bested by the all-powerful brain freeze.
Erica leans forward and places her hand on her husband’s chest. “Do you fancy giving him a good show then?”
“Funny.” He flicks her nose. “Mock me while I am concerned for our family’s privacy.”
“Is it not the job of a significant other to mock their partner when they are being silly?”
“It is not.”
“I can only surmise no one has thought of it then. Should I not be applauded for my ingenuity?”
“…You have a great many assets, my love. Though I am not sure I can co-sign this particular one.”
Erica sighs contentedly. She briefly grabs Abaddon’s hands and places them on her body as she finishes the rest of his coffee. “Oh, I do love a bit of flattery in the morning. Go on. Tell me of my many assets.”
Abaddon notices the temperature of his face building.
Erica is as beautiful as she is sharp. He has almost forgotten everything that plagued his mind just moments ago.
“…You’re beautiful.”
Erica sipped her coffee with a smirk. “I know. Anything else?”
“You’re very opinionated. I like that.”
“Of course you do. You’d get bored of me in two seconds if all I did was lie underneath you and smile.” Erica shrugged cockily. “Anything else? Really give me something to brag about on Facebook.”
Abaddon is silent for a moment, but then he leans forward and buries his head in his wife’s neck.”You are… a wonderful wife and mother. But an even better friend. I would be a shell of myself without you.”
Erica’s face is hidden from Abaddon at present. With her moment of anonymity, her expression goes from being as cool as ice to positively orgasmic.
“…How did I do?”
Erica bites her hip. “…You pass for now.”
“Same time tomorrow?”
“I’ll have to check my schedule and move some things around… I could be persuaded if we changed the meeting place from here to the shower.”
“That does seem to be the place for us, doesn’t it?”
“Why change a good thing?”
Their eyes briefly meet, and there is a clear anticipation between them.
But before it can build too far, Erica points to the bed.
Curled up in the grip of a large white serpent, Gabbrielle was sleeping peacefully amongst a sea of her mothers.
Her chest rose and fell steadily, showing that she was in fact still asleep.
“Eden..?” zAbaddon asked expectantly.
Erica’s face became flushed. Her skin almost returned to her natural grey color.
“I think…”
Suddenly, the door to their room is slowly opened and Apophis pokes his head inside, his eyes covered and ears hidden by headphones.
He holds up a whiteboard with black letters scribbled on it.
Is it safe to look or nah?
Abaddon was tempted to chuck the sofa at his son.
Erica, on the other hand, was thrilled to see her son on almost every occasion.
She pulled away from her husband and stepped toward her son.
Pulling off the blindfold covering his eyes, she waved at him with a subtle smile and pointed to her cheek.
“Morning, ma..” Apophis whispered as he kissed his mother’s cheek. Though his eyes soon went to the thermos in her hand.”Ooh, coffee, sweet.”
Apophis immediately pilfered his mother’s beverage as he stepped inside the room.
Erica couldn’t even find it within herself to object.
“Hey, pops.” Apophis quietly fist-bumped his father. “You guys got a minu-”
“No-” Erica elbows Abaddon and smiles at Apophis.
“Anything you need, son. What’s going on?”
Apophis sat on the edge of his bed and held out his hands. “Wanted to show you guys something.”
A golden mirror with a flaming design appeared over the dragon’s hands.
Inside the reflective surface, Abaddon and Erica could see an image of outer space. Specifically, their current solar system.
“What’s this?” Abaddon tilted his head.
Apophis zoomed in to an area near Pluto.
There, the three of them could see a single figure near the outskirts of their solar system.
The recording lasted only a moment, and it was difficult to describe what they saw, but they knew for sure that it wasn’t human.
“Where did you get this…?” Erica asked. “What is that?”
Apophis could only answer one of those questions. “It was an offering made to me. I brought it straight to you as soon as I watched it.”
Abaddon furrowed his brow. “Wait, you didn’t take this?”
“No. Tyson did.”
At the mention of that name, Erica’s face lights up as bright as the morning sun.
“Really?? Did he say anything else??”
“I think you know he didn’t, Ma.” Apophis smiled wryly. “He still-”
Erica started nudging Apophis towards the door. “Tell Tyson I demand to see him, and if he doesn’t answer, he loses his wings. Also, go wake Claire and Jazmine, tell them their brother’s coming.”
“If we actually have to take his wings then can I fry them?”
“No.”
“Just checking.”
Erica shuts the door behind her and turns back to face Abaddon.
Her beautiful face is excited and giddy. She is almost like a schoolgirl.
Abaddon can only smile at her and shake his head.
–
In the hallway, Apophis is floating on his back when he passes by his youngest brother, K’ael.
“Morning, nii-san.”
“Sup, scrub.”
“You are out of bed early. Are you hungry again?”
“Nah, nah… well, a little bit.” Apophis yawns as he floats away from K’ael. “I’m helping mom prepare for our brother who’s not our brother to come over.”
K’ael stops in his tracks in the middle of the hallway.
“…Our what?”
