First Demonic Dragon - Chapter 1231: The Apocalypse V

Chapter 1231: The Apocalypse V
“You animals!”
Lucifer turns on Tehom’s rulers with his eyes a furious red.
The tables seemed to have turned rather quickly, as now it is Abaddon who sits in his chair with a look of feigned innocence.
“Oh? Whatever do you mean?” Abaddon blinks while making is eyes as large and glassy as possible.
“You dare try to play games in this hall!? In front of the eyes of all of the heavens!?”
“I haven’t done anything, though? Everyone here could see that.” Abaddon holds up his hands.
“Everyone here saw you send Karliah away before she could join my legion!”
Abaddon glanced above his head.
A portal formed out of thin air, swirling with an ominous red light far different from the one that had just appeared.
“My magic is… rather distinct, as you can see.”
A vein bulges in Lucifer’s forehead as he turns his gaze to Abaddon’s wives next.
However, he barely glimpses them for a second before Abaddon is in front of him with his eyes glowing like mad.
“Correct yourself.”
“Do you find me to be like these other weaklings who are easily intimidated..?”
“I find you to be an eyesore I am capable of removing whenever the mood strikes me. Whether you believe in my ability to do it or not doesn’t change it’s certainty.”
“Careful. Arrogance is often the reason why the hero dies tragically at the end of their story.”
“Enough.” Asherah finally stepped in. “Abaddon has made the offer, but the other party has fled. Seemingly if her own volition.”
Lucifer looked past the dragons to the demon queens.
“Then I request back my-”
Lilith and her sisters also fell through holes in the floor.
When the portal closed, Lucifer’s expression was nearly a solid red.
“Wow…” Abaddon gasped as he shook his head. “Tough break. Really tough break. You know, I’m pretty sure spontaneous portal openings had something to do with global warming or something. Not sure where I read it though, so don’t take my word for it.”
It was rare to see Abaddon crack jokes in public ventures.
Almost all of the gods had to cover their faces to prevent laughter.
Lucifer took notice of every single one of them. As did his demons.
“…You win the day, Abaddon. But if I should ever see Karliah again, she is mine by right! And if I see my brides again, I will see them returned.”
“If.” Abaddon says the word as if he is reminding Lucifer of it’s importance.
“Enough. Both of you return to your seats.” Asherah demanded.
Abaddon had to stop himself from skipping back to his throne. Lucifer had to make an effort not to smash his to pieces.
“…Let’s continue.”
The following proceedings were used to discuss things like starting positions, the role of the horsemen, and the waves of the apocalypse that would seize the newly transformed earth.
Abaddon would have liked to say that he was paying attention, but that would have been a lie.
His mind was in three different places.
He was listening to Bekka yell at her mother from outside the realm. He was also trying to console Odie and ensure that she knew Karliah was fine and she didn’t just fall through a random hole never to be seen again.
Lastly, he kept some of his focus on Nyx.
Her decision to help him not once but twice had moved him greatly. The value of their friendship could not be overstated.
’Oh, stop making such a big deal out of it. Not like I did it for you anyway.’
’Then why did you?’
’For adorable little Bekka, obviously. The poor thing was about to fall into pieces without her mother. How can I stand to witness something like that when I’m used to seeing her jovial little cheeks full of joy and fried foods?’
Abaddon does not look in Nyx’s direction so as not to give any signs that they are communicating.
He covers his mouth with his hand and looks downward so that he doesn’t smile.
’…You have both of our thanks.’
’I don’t want them. We’re supposed to be enemies now, don’t you know?’
’More than the world ending will need to occur before I consider you my enemy, Nyx. And as long as your daughter is married to mine, we are forever linked.’
Nyx allows herself to glance in Aubrey’s direction.
The young girl sits beside Thea, holding her hand with their sons in their laps.
She looks away before their eyes have a chance to meet.
’Family is a gift, wouldn’t you say?’
’…I would.’
“Is there anyone else who had a point of order they would like to address?”
Asherah’s open question caused the gods in attendance to look around at each other.
For a moment, Abaddon believed that they were done.
But then, two individuals stood up in the Shintō pantheon.
“My wife and I would like to declare ourselves for the Nevi’im.” Omodaru said respectfully.
There was an immediate outpour of murmuring from the crowd.
Izanagi stood up to protest their decision. “Father, mother, this is not the time for jests! How could you even consider turning your back on our foundations?!”
“We would turn our back on nothing.” Kashiko-ne said. “However, we would see our debts paid.”
Omodaru met the gaze of his daughter.
“Your sister saved us from being forgotten, even though she was not obligated to do so. We would repay her efforts however we were able. Even in servitude.”
“Preposterous!”
“The matter is not up for your interference. Do not forget who the child is here.”
Izanagi was the current most powerful member of the Shinto pantheon. Yet, despite outranking his parents, in terms of the pantheon’s strict family hierarchy, he did not.
Abaddon couldn’t help but crane his neck to look at his own parents.
’…Maybe Tehom and Takamagahara aren’t so different.’
Asherah turned his gaze towards Tehom’s rulers. “What say you?”
Izanami made an X with her hands. “I don’t believe it’s necessary.”
The silence in the room was absolutely deafening.
However, it inevitably gave way to more arguing.
“Izanami, how could you spit in the face of your father’s sincere request in such a manner?! In front of all of these people!”
“Is the idea of our fealty something for you to sneeze at?! Are we common fledglings to you!?”
Izanami sighed as she tapped her finger on her throne.
“You’re overcomplicating things… I helped you to fulfill my responsibilities as a daughter, it was never my intention to request subservience from either of you.”
“Of course we know that!”
“But we still made the other out of the kindness of our hearts!”
“”So you have to accept it!””
Izanami had a very big reason why she didn’t want to accept her parents.
She knew they would try to move in with them.
The family she had now could be very outgoing and chaotic. The last thing she wanted was to see them show up at her house and start nitpicking the way they lived.
“Ah… still no.” Izanami made another x.
“”IZANAMIIII!!””
Suddenly, Izanami felt a small nudge at her side.
She looked over to find Sif’s big beautiful face giving her a small smile.
’Why don’t you let them join. I think it might be good for K’ael if they were around more. They seem like they may be more his speed than everyone else.’
Izanami’s brow furrowed as she thought of their son.
It was true that K’ael was a bit more introverted than even Belloc. And she would like it if he had more people to talk to who shared common interests… She and Amaterasu couldn’t be around to keep him company all the time.
Perhaps she could see how things went later and decide from there?
“…Upon further consideration, my family and I would like to accept on a trial basis.”
“”TRIAL BASIS?!?””
Izanami snapped her fingers and her parents went from the stands of the Shinto Pantheon to standing beside the Nevi’im.
Darius worked his way between the ancient couple and wrapped his arms around their necks.
“Welcome! We fuck in the butt over here!”
“Darius!” Lailah snapped.
“I joke, I joke! They were just so stiff I couldn’t resist!” Darius cackled.
Omodaru and Kashiko-ne looked like they were already regretting their decision. But it was too late to change their minds by this point.
Asherah shook her head at Darius’ nature. “Now, if there will be no more side switching, then-”
Abaddon and his wives abruptly stood up. Lucifer and Nyx as well.
Everyone in the hall soon heard the sound that brought them such alarm.
Horns.
It was a gallant, rising fanfare, not unlike the kind they had just heard from the beginning of the apocalypse.
Only this time, the sound was completely foreign.
The entire room heard a sound like cracking glass.
The veil over the sky was shattered.
Beyond it’s borders swirled the single largest, most unimaginable army the gods had ever laid eyes upon.
And at their head, there floated a female-presenting figure who spoke in a language that none but thirteen could understand.
“Well now…. A party? And me, with no invitation. Such a travesty.”
