First Demonic Dragon - Chapter 1269: Patron Saint of Good Deeds

Chapter 1269: Patron Saint of Good Deeds
Thea watched with bated breath as Gilbert the snake swallowed up every statue in the backyard.
Once they had all settled within his stomach, he performed some sort of strange wiggle that looked a lot like stretching.
When it was seemingly satisfied, the serpent unhinged it’s jaw again and vomited all of the bodies inside of it onto the lawn. Only now, they were no longer statues.
They were people, some of them humanoid and others a kind of alien.
But all of them were covered in the stomach acids of a magical white snake the size of a lamp post.
“Eww…”
Gilbert the snake stared at Thea rather hard.
“…Sorry. I meant to say thank you.”
The serpent passed it’s forked tongue through the air before disappearing in a puff of white smoke.
“Ugh…”
“How…”
“I’m sticky in places that I should not be sticky in…”
With bated breath, Thea watched as the disoriented beings slowly crawled off of each other and fell onto the lawn. Their bodies were missing the black crystals from before. And other than the green intestinal fluid of Gilbert, there was no trace of any goo either.
Swallowing, Thea realized that she should probably say something sooner rather than later. Clearing her throat to get their attention, she resumed her holy mother-goddess act once again.
“Ahem. Be at ease, wayward souls. You will find nothing here but friends.”
The strangers slowly rose to their knees and stared up at her with eyes filled with wonder.
Thea waved her hand over the group and cleansed them of the viscous fluid wetting their bodies.
“My name is Thea Tathamet. I am the first princess of the abyssal dragons and Divine Matriarch of High Humanity.”
With the way Thea introduced herself, she made several individuals wildly uncomfortable.
“Be at ease. My intent is not to bring you under my wing, nor convert you into my faith. I simply saw that you were in need of aid, and I acted. You need not concern yourself with what I want from you, because there is nothing that you can give me.”
“As if I would believe that…”
Thea felt her breath get caught in her throat.
Shakily, her master got to her feet and stared at her.
She was much shorter than Thea remembered. Then, she realized that she had grown just that much.
Her master used to tower over her as a six-foot warrior of divine power.
But now, Thea was more than seven feet tall. In comparison, her master just seemed rather adorable.
Evidently, the small smirk that spread along her lips was not the right way to convey that message.
“You dare laugh at me as if I am something amusing, you foul witch!?”
Thea stopped smiling when she saw her old master reach for a sword that wasn’t on her hip.
“Quell yourself, I meant no disrespect. I simply thought just now that you reminded me of someone I knew from a very long time ago.”
To keep up her ruse, Thea turned to address everyone who stood there rather than just her master.
“I am aware that it might be strange, but I truly desire nothing from you. After vanquishing the creature that took hold of you, I could not in good conscience leave you out in the wilderness. So I brought you here.”
Thea held out her hands and created an illusion from her palms.
She showed the people the city and everything inside it.
“This is our home. If you’d like, I can arrange for accommodations to be made for you, and you can stay somewhere clean and safe without fear of being attacked. Though if you wish to leave this place, that is your choice to make as well, and I will respect it.”
An alien suddenly stood up. He was a powerful sort, from what Thea could tell. His deep purple skin was stretched until taught over rolling muscles of iron. A set of tentacles sat on the back of his head, mimicking hair.
His eyes were bright, and his face was strong. Beyond his lips lie a row of sharpened teeth as white as snow.
“The blight that you speak of… Has it truly been vanquished? Every trace of it??”
“I believe so, yes.” Thea nodded.
For some reason, that answer made the alien man feel a bit downtrodden.
“Then… Are we truly all that you were able to save…?”
Thea understood the underlying meaning of his question rather quickly.
She floated towards the man and placed her hand on his shoulder.
“…I said that it was my belief that we had, but there could always be a chance that I am wrong. If that happens, we will fight to save your civilization just as we did to rescue you. And when we return them to how they were before the infection, I hope that you-”
“Sissyyyyy!!!”
Yemaja suddenly ran outside with a dress on a hanger. “Hey, can I borrow this!? I wanna wear it to-”
The princess’ words trailed off for some reason that Thea couldn’t decipher.
Out of the blue, the ocean queen appeared beside her sister and dragged her away. Once they were clear of the others, Yemaja began whispering in hushed breaths.
“WOAH! Who’s the hottie!?”
Thea looked like she had gotten whiplash. “My old master, the one who originally gave me the-”
“I’m not talking about the red-headed butch. I meant Mister tall, purple, and handsome.”
No words could have described just how uncomfortable Thea felt in that moment. Her very overactive imagination tainted all mental images she had of her adorable younger sister.
“I-I don’t know him, he’s a refugee that Bashenga and I saved, but-”
“So he’s likely traumatized and needs a shoulder to cry on?? Sweet, this is totally in my bag.”
Yemaja chucked Thea’s dress over her shoulder and tuned to the crowd with a prize-winning smile.
“Good day, everyone. I’ll be resuming your tour from here on out. Feel free to ask any questions you might have and… Do try not to fall in love with me, okay?” She winked.
All of the men, and even some of the women, blushed uncontrollably.
Thea had no idea how she was supposed to feel about her tour being hijacked like this, but maybe it was for the best. As she walked back to the house, she could only shake her head at her sister’s bold personality.
’Seriously, that girl… She’s even faster than I was.’

Out in the newly built city, things were somewhat peaceful on the surface.
With soldiers making up all of the dragon population, most were currently away on deployment. A small force of around 100,000 men was scattered around the territory.
They served as guards, reserve troops, and emergency aid should one of the higher-ups suddenly need them. But with these troops acting in reserves, that meant they naturally had downtime.
Ordinarily, this wouldn’t have been much of an issue… until one remembered that the territory was now also populated by humans.
Humans who, due twenty-first-century internet anonymity, were used to behaving in certain ways without any real fear of consequences.
So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise to anyone that it didn’t take long at all for blowups to start occurring.
This was how a simple restaurant ended up getting turned upside down as a member of the Black Legion held four human males against a wall with nothing but his mind.
“Go on… It seems like you roaches had something of an issue. I want to hear you say it with your chest. That way it will be all the more satisfying when I punch a hole in it.”
