First Immortal of the Sword - Chapter 1932: Hard to Accept

Chapter 1932: Hard to Accept
Heaven and earth were in turmoil. Thunderclouds churned overhead.
Su Yi gripped his sword and stood in the air, sweeping his gaze across his gathered enemies. His majestic bearing bore down on the entire area.
When his voice echoed through the air, the Demon Sovereigns’ hearts quivered with fright.
Su Yi had attacked just five times, but each strike contained unstoppable force. It was as if he were cleaving through rotten wood!
All of their arrangements broke like paper window paneling. Who wouldn’t have been shocked?
There was no doubt about it. They’d severely underestimated Su Yi right from the start.
“Su Yi, you’re far too brazen. Do you really think we’re just here for decoration?” A golden-robed man said icily.
He then let out a long roar and charged with the other seventeen Profound Demon Sovereigns.
“Activate!”
Eighteen Profound Demon Sovereigns joined forces and attacked together, activating the Imprisoned Skies Painting with all their might. The hundred-thousand-foot scroll painting erupted with a flood of divine power and descended directly upon Su Yi.
Boom!!
The sky collapsed as the painting enveloped Su Yi and everything around him. That terrifying power shattered the air, and before it even drew near, it made Su Yi stagger on his feet.
The power of this Epoch Treasure was terrifying beyond imagination.
When the other Demon Sovereigns saw this, their spirits soared.
“Die!!” The eighteen Profound Demon Sovereigns bellowed as the Imprisoned Skies Painting descended with a bang.
Clang!
The Sword of the Human Realm took to the sky, pointing its tip at the firmament.
Endless, tyrannical sword intent erupted from the blade, like an azure dragon emerging from the abyss. It forcefully blocked the suppressive power of the Imprisoned Skies Diagram.
When the two of them clashed, the collision produced a wave of destructive power.
The sky collapsed and broke, producing countless rifts.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Imprisoned Skies Diagram was incomparably tyrannical. It ground away the Sword of the Human Realm’s sword qi and relentlessly descended upon Su Yi. The pressure on Su Yi rapidly increased.
His vital energy rumbled and boomed, and the light of the Dao erupted from his skin. When he drew on the full power of his cultivation base, he threw the surrounding sky into complete disarray.
Even the Sword of the Human Realm quivered.
“Die!”
Meanwhile, the eighteen Profound Demon Sovereigns unleashed the full extent of their power, pouring it into the Imprisoned Skies Painting like mad. The pressure on Su Yi continuously increased.
The Sword of the Human Realm’s sword qi was on the verge of shattering.
The Demon Sovereigns watched nervously. No matter how unwilling they were, they had to admit that if not for the Imprisoned Skies Diagram, the experts and formations they’d prepared would have been useless against Su Yi!
“Fortunately, it seems that he won’t last much longer!” someone whispered, his eyes full of eagerness.
“Let’s take advantage of his moment of weakness to destroy him! Tell me, if we shake him mentally and catch off guard, can we make him die an even more brutal death?” someone said eagerly.
“Let’s try it!” A red-haired man stepped forth, shot through the air, took out an ancient seal, and swung it at Su Yi.
Bang!!
The ancient seal shattered.
From beginning to end, Su Yi paid him no heed. It was the aftershock of the Sword of the Human Realm’s clash with the Imprisoned Skies Painting that destroyed the seal.
In other words, the aftermath alone was enough to destroy a powerful ancient treasure with ease.
Splurt!
The red-haired man coughed up blood, and his face paled.
When the treasure was shattered, he suffered the backlash. He now understood on a visceral level just how terrifying this clash was. Demon Sovereigns of his level could in no way participate!
“Don’t try anything reckless. He’s already certain to lose. The moment the Imprisoned Skies Diagram traps him is the moment he dies!” an old man said gravely.
The crowd was certain that Su Yi’s defeat was imminent. The painting was almost upon him. It was just three feet from his head!
“The gods really are watching us from above!” A man laughed and clapped.
His words seemed apt indeed; the Imprisoned Skies Painting, a treasure bequeathed to them by a god, was quite literally over their heads. It represented divine power!
Suddenly, Su Yi laughed and said softly, “If a god blocked my path, I’d cut him down too, but this is only a treasure.”
As Su Yi’s calm voice rang out, a six-inch sword coffin appeared above his head. The Sword of Proximity whooshed through the air and slashed with a clear hum.
Bang!!
Where it pointed, an enormous tear ripped open in the hundred-thousand-foot Imprisoned Skies Diagram. The entire Epoch Treasure undulated.
It then broke free of the eighteen Profound Demon Sovereigns’ control, blurred into a beam of light, and fled, seemingly startled.
“???” The demons didn’t even know what to think. Their smiles froze in place. What’s going on?
“Consider that my seventh strike,” whispered Su Yi.
Then, he swept his gaze across the area, his eyes glinted with cold murderous intent. “And this will be my eighth strike!”
Boom!
The Sword of Proximity erupted with chaotic sword qi. It blanketed heaven and earth and shot into the cloudy dome of heaven, connecting heaven and earth.
The area was so full of chaos power that no one could have determined whether it was night or day. Every facet of creation was indistinct and distorted.
The hundred-plus Demon Sovereigns’ hair stood on end. All of them sensed an impending lethal threat.
“Run!! Hurry up and run!” someone cried out.
The Demon Sovereigns scampered off, scattering in all directions. They simply couldn’t take it anymore.
“I have a sword to pull down galaxies, overturning heaven and earth and shaking the mortal world!” Su Yi raised his right hand into the air and slashed.
In this slash, he sought to be as joyous as the wind. He wanted to wipe out every last one of these bungling little clowns!
Boom——!
Heaven and earth swayed. The all-encompassing, chaotic sword qi swept through the sky, transforming into an endless torrent of sword qi that swept outward. Wherever it passed, it crushed heaven and earth.
The hundred-plus Demon Sovereigns fleeing in panic were enveloped the moment they tried to scamper off in panic!
“No!” someone shrieked in terror and fought back with all his might.
But in a flash, his body was ripped to shreds. Even his soul was destroyed.
“Break!” A Profound Demon Sovereign roared in fury, his eyes bulging as he fought with all his might.
But in the face of this boundless, chaotic sword qi, all of their struggles seemed pathetically weak, like ants trying to shake a tree. They were instantly ground away completely.
Boom!
Heaven and earth were thrown into upheaval. Everything was in chaos.
Desperate cries, terrified roars, and wails of despair rang out, rising and falling amidst the boundless chaotic sword light.
But in the blink of an eye, the cries came to an abrupt halt.
All the while, the power of divine misfortune poured down from the heavens, crashing onto Su Yi, only for him to neutralize it with a swing of his sleeves.
Everything was a barren, desolate vision of devastation. The ground was strewn with newly formed chasms, and smoke filled the air. There was no longer any sign of the Demon Sovereigns.
Even the towering, wall-like Nightslayer Ridge had collapsed, reduced to leveled ground!
When Su Yi looked around, he saw nothing but silence and stillness on all sides!
He stood alone in midair, the only light amidst the destruction!
Clang!
The Sword of Proximity returned to the six-inch sword coffin, and the Sword of the Human Realm slipped back into Su Yi’s sleeves.
Su Yi took out a jug of wine, threw back his head, and drank. However, after his first sip, even though the wine’s flavor hadn’t changed, Su Yi found it rather tasteless.
The wine wasn’t the problem. The problem was that the battle was already over, and the Nine Great Demon Races’ performance had been far too lacking.
Just eight strikes, and he’d destroyed every last one of them. He’d even wiped Nightslayer Ridge from the face of the planet!
It really was disappointing. In that moment, Su Yi suddenly understood his fifth incarnation’s solitary, aloof disposition.
With power far beyond the Three Stages of the Great Realm, there was no one beneath the heavens capable of fighting him, and everything seemed tedious.
Li Fuyou had slain gods at the peak of the Great Profound Stage! It was inevitable that both the Immortal Realm and the Spirit Domain would seem dull to someone so strong.
It’s not that my enemies got weaker, but that I’ve far surpassed my past self. How… could they possibly have fought me? Especially since I’ve got a Mystery of Chaos like the Sword of Proximity.
As Su Yi pondered, the Divine Replenishment Furnace got to work, gleefully scouring the battlefield for trophies. Alas, the furnace had grown picky. It couldn’t be bothered with ordinary treasures; it only gathered those that were particularly precious.
When it finished, Su Yi put it away, then set off on the Sky-Covering Boat.
……
The Ancestral Demon Grounds.
The entrance to this hidden realm stood above a lake of chaos. An ancient ritual ground had been built near the entrance. The ancient experts who’d stood guard over this place throughout the years had all long since gathered here.
Some were seated cross-legged. Others read classics and scriptures, while others still played chess or drank.
Li Changsheng was there too.
Two days prior, he and forty other old-timers of the Nine Great Demon Races received a decree from Divine Emissary Star Dragon. They were told to stand guard outside the Ancestral Demon Grounds.
Furthermore, the divine emissary commanded that they couldn’t allow anyone inside, no matter what.
“Doing the math, it seems that at Su Yi’s speed, he ought to have reached Nightslayer Ridge by now, right?” someone said softly. “I’m really rather looking forward to receiving word of the Tyrant’s death.”
Many others chuckled in response.
But then, someone shot out of the Ancestral Demon Grounds in a tizzy.
This was none other than Divine Emissary Zuo Mu!
The crowd abruptly stopped what they were doing and rose in greeting.
“Do you perhaps have orders for us, Your Excellency?” Li Changsheng asked.
Zuo Mu’s expression was dark and unsightly. He pointed at Li Changsheng and shouted, “Worthless! A pack of worthless fools! Your forces weren’t just defeated at Nightslayer Ridge. They even let him damage the Imprisoned Skies Painting! Who will take responsibility for this?”
His words were like thunder on a clear day. Every ancient expert present was stunned. Astonishment was written all over their faces.
We sent over a hundred of our experts to Nightslayer Ridge. They actually lost?
And even the Imprisoned Skies Painting was damaged?
Li Changsheng had lived a long, long time, experiencing too many ups and downs to count, but this ill tiding nonetheless left him dazed. He couldn’t accept it!
