First Immortal of the Sword - Chapter 2100 - The Celestial Venerates Arrive

Chapter 2100 – The Celestial Venerates Arrive
The dense, ink-black clouds hung in the air, an oppressive sight.
When the gods took action, they swept in from afar, like waters at high tide. Their sheer numbers were enough to make just about anyone give in to despair.
Su Yi had only just arrived at the peak of Heaven’s End Divine Mountain. When he saw this, he couldn’t help but gasp. There are so many of them! Don’t tell me every god in the Ancient God Domain is waiting here?
To an extent, it was just as Su Yi had expected. He’d guessed that he’d be targeted as soon as he arrived in the Ancient God Domain. Still, the sheer magnitude of this scene was far beyond his expectations!
But Su Yi quickly calmed down. He’d discovered something fishy.
Heaven’s End Divine Mountain was created specifically for outsiders. Here, they were under the protection of the Laws of the Ancient God Domain. The same was true of the Godless Plains; in fact, that was clear from the name. What did “godless plains” mean? It meant that here, there were no gods of the Ancient God Domain to be found!
In other words, throughout the ages, the local gods had never been able to enter these black plains.
Yet now, after countless years had passed, it seemed that the Ancient God Domain had transformed. Its gods could now safely enter the plains. And they were now rushing toward Heaven’s End Divine Mountain!
Su Yi narrowed his eyes. Just as I thought. The Laws of the Ancient God Domain are severely damaged. They’re completely different from before.
Before long, he noticed that the grand procession of gods came to a complete halt when it was still ten thousand feet from Heaven’s End.
Su Yi immediately reached a conclusion. Fortunately, the Laws of Heaven’s End remain. The gods dare not draw closer.
When he thought about it, it made sense. Were the gods capable of reaching Heaven’s End, they’d have gathered here before he even arrived. Why wait all this time?
“Are you the one who killed members of the Qin Family?” a voice suddenly rang out, booming like thunder. Heaven and earth shook.
A purple-robed, white-haired man took to the skies and stared Su Yi down murderously.
Su Yi said calmly, “No need to waste time talking. If you want revenge, come and fight me. If you’re too afraid, step aside.”
The gods were stunned. They wouldn’t have guessed that Su Yi would be this domineering even when thoroughly surrounded.
The purple-robed, white man’s face was ashen. He bellowed, “How dare you be so impudent? Let me tell you: today is the day you die!”
Su Yi completely ignored him. He couldn’t be bothered to pay the man any heed.
Instead, he swept his gaze across the thousands of gods waiting in the distance and said, “Let me just ask you this. Did all of you come here to kill me?”
“That’s right?”
“What do you think?”
“If you know what’s good for you, give us the Epoch Spark!”
A clamor of voices arose, all of them seething with murderous intent. They made no attempt to disguise their intentions.
All of them looked at Su Yi differently, but Su Yi didn’t recognize any of them. And these unfamiliar faces were full of greed, contempt, iciness, hatred, pity, and mockery, like they were staring down prey they were dead-set on killing.
Su Yi didn’t panic, nor did he give in to despair, and neither was he angry. He just chuckled, took out a jug of wine, and had a sip. “No matter what you’re hoping to acquire, come and attack me already. If you’re too scared, that makes you a coward.”
Silence fell. The gods exchanged glances, their expressions shifting and uncertain. If they could have charged onto Heaven’s End, why would they have wasted all that time talking? They’d have attacked Su Yi by now!
“You don’t dare, huh? You really are a pack of cowards.” Su Yi shook his head slightly.
The gods were enraged. Their murderous intent rose into the firmament, shaking heaven and earth. The dark clouds churned overhead.
But from beginning to end, none of them dared to draw any closer. They acted like Heaven’s End hid some sort of lethal, taboo power.
“But you can’t leave either, can you?” someone shouted.
Su Yi’s eyes glinted with derision. “As an outsider, when my year here is up, I’ll naturally be able to leave. What about you? Are you willing to just fritter the year away here with me?”
The gods’ expressions filled with uncertainty.
But then, a dignified, indifferent voice rang out, “Now that you’ve come, you cannot leave.”
Boom!
A searing red flame exploded into being in the distance, ripping through the sky as it drew near.
Upon closer inspection, it was a tall, powerfully built man in red robes. He flew in on a bloody spear, and wherever he passed, the sky caved in around him. His momentum was startling.
Every last god in the crowd was shaken.
Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss! One of the Seven Great Celestial Venerates of the Ancient God Domain, an expert comparable to a Master God!
When he appeared, an unsurpassed imposing majesty swept over the area. Numerous gods looked stricken, and they instinctively cleared a path. None dared stand in his way.
All of their faces filled with awe and dread.
Kaboom!
As soon as Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss arrived, heaven and earth blazed as if all of creation had transformed into a massive furnace. Firelight illuminated everything in all directions. None dared look at it directly!
Even Su Yi narrowed his eyes. This guy really is a Master God, and no avatar, either. He’s here in the flesh! That aura of his is no weaker than that of a present-day Master God!
When this mighty expert arrived, the wind and clouds shifted, and he was instantly the center of attention.
“Are you that swordsman’s descendant, disciple, or reincarnation?” asked Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss, his voice resounding like thunder throughout heaven and earth.
Many of the gods’ souls quivered, and the crowd looked on with even greater awe.
Su Yi didn’t answer. Instead, he looked Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss up and down and asked in confusion, “Why didn’t someone of your level perish beneath the suppressive power of reincarnation?”
He really didn’t get it. His first incarnation stood proudly over the River of Destiny. He was far, far beyond a mere Master God. Yet a Master God like Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss had survived despite being suppressed by the power of reincarnation for a long, long time. There was something strange going on here.
The gods were speechless. What the hell does he mean by that? Is he looking down on Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss?
Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss, meanwhile, furrowed his brow, his expression overcast.
“I’m the one asking questions here!” he said coldly.
“Fiery Abyss, it doesn’t matter whether he’s the swordsman’s inheritor or his reincarnation.”
A pleasant, female voice rang out. A dreamlike rain of silver light surged forth accompanying the voice, and an imposing, frigid current swept outward.
The gods in the audience shuddered, and their expressions shifted. They felt as if they’d been plunged into an icy abyss.
A woman silently appeared not far from Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss. She wore a long black dress, and her hair was as dark as ink. When she looked around, her gaze was utterly imposing.
She stood atop a crystalline, translucent ice lotus. Colorful light flowed around it, making her seem pure and ethereal.
Celestial Venerate Profound Frost!
She was yet another Master God-level expert of the Ancient God Domain, and she had countless experts under her command. The gods revered her as they did the heavens themselves!
When she appeared, the crowd’s hearts palpitated, and the atmosphere grew silent and still.
“It doesn’t matter?” repeated Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss. “What do you mean?”
“Can’t you tell? He doesn’t know anything about what happened back then,” Celestial Venerate Profound Frost said icily. Her bright eyes bore into Su Yi. “We can just take him for a little fellow yet to become a god.”
Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss let out a self-deprecating laugh. “I was overthinking this. And here I thought that terrifying swordsman had returned… It seems I was overly fearful.”
None of the gods in the audience could remain calm after hearing that. Who is this swordsman they’re talking about? Even someone like Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss seems terrified of him. Why?
“You’re right. If he really were that swordsman, he should have recognized us by now, and there’s no way he’d act like a caged beast, too afraid to even take a single step off Heaven’s End Divine Mountain,” Celestial Venerate Fiery Abyss said with cold disdain.
Su Yi laughed. “Perhaps it’s because you were too weak then, and I never really took you to heart. Maybe I just forgot you.”
The crowd was at a loss for words. This guy’s just talking nonsense. How dare he even suggest such a thing? How brazen is he?
But then, a burst of laughter resounded throughout heaven and earth.
“Hahaha, that’s true, too! Even Master Gods who presided over entire epoch civilizations were beneath that swordsman’s notice.”
An explosion rang out accompanying this voice, and a stick-thin, upright man in white robes appeared.
He looked young, and he carried a sword case on his back. He had wide sleeves and a glorious, unparalleled air about him. His imposing aura wasn’t at all weaker than Celestial Venerates Fiery Abyss and Profound Frost!
Celestial Venerate Cloud Tyrant!
Yet another Master God!
When his voice resounded throughout the surrounding area, the spectating gods were flabbergasted, but they weren’t the only ones. The two Celestial Venerates’ expressions darkened, too.
“What? You aren’t convinced?” The white-robed, upright Celestial Venerate Cloud Tyrant laughed. “There’s no shame in that. Who among the terrifying existences of the Ancient God Domain is ignorant of that swordsman’s strength? If he weren’t that strong, how could the power of reincarnation have suppressed the Ancient God Domain all these years?
“And those Primordial Ancestor Gods remained confined to the darkness to this day. Even now, they’ve yet to awaken. Compared to them, we Master Gods really are beneath that swordsman’s notice.”
The crowd stirred. All of them were astonished. Just who is that swordsman, for even someone as powerful as Celestial Venerate Cloud Tyrant to acknowledge his inferiority like this?
And the other two Celestial Venerates weren’t arguing, either. That just served as further confirmation that Celestial Venerate Cloud Tyrant was telling the truth!
The way many of the gods looked at Su Yi shifted inscrutably.
“Cloud Tyrant, all of that happened a long, long time ago. Why bring it up now?”
A hunched old woman appeared silently in their midst, her long hair silver and her eyes turbid. Her face was completely covered in wrinkles, and she gripped a purple cane shaped like a twisting serpent.
Celestial Venerate Jade Crane!
Now, four of the Celestial Venerates had arrived. Many of the gods’ hearts quivered in their chests, and all of them realized that they’d have no chance whatsoever to get involved in whatever happened here today.
“The Path of the Ancient Gods’ changes are due to the long disappearance of reincarnation. Everything is different from what it once was,” said the elderly Celestial Venerate Jade Crane.
Her turbid eyes turned toward Su Yi. “And the way this lofty one sees it, that boy cannot possibly be that swordsman’s reincarnation.”
“Why not?” asked Celestial Venerate Cloud Tyrant.
“He’s too weak. He isn’t even one ten-thousandth as strong as that swordsman,” sighed Celestial Venerate Jade Crane. “If not for his mastery of reincarnation and the Epoch Spark, I couldn’t even be bothered to come see him in person.
