First Immortal of the Sword - Chapter 2164 - Flies

Chapter 2164 – Flies
Bang!
Yang Shuang’er blocked Yue Man’s palm, and her beautiful face frosted over. “Senior Apprentice Brother, what are you doing?”
Yue Man had actually tried to hit her little sister right in front of her. It was simply over the line.
Yue Man frowned, and his eyes surged with murderous intent. “She spoke out of turn. I’m helping you discipline her. What’s wrong with that?”
“She’s my little sister. I don’t need others’ help disciplining her!” Yang Shuang’er said icily. “Senior Apprentice Brother, disregard me like this any further, and don’t blame me for reporting this to my master when we return to the sect!”
A hint of dread appeared on Yue Man’s face. He snorted coldly, “Forget it. I can’t be bothered with a lowly human from the sticks anyway!”
It might have sounded like he was insulting A’Ling, but he was poking fun at Yang Shuang’er, too! Yang Shuang’er naturally realized it, too; she had to take a deep breath to suppress her fury.
“Enough. We’re sectmates. How can we fight amongst ourselves?” The golden-robed man shook his head.
Su Yi calmly took all of his in. He didn’t say a word.
“Xiao Jian, it’s time you made your decision,” Yue Man said without the slightest friendliness. He looked ready and eager to go.
But before Su Yi could respond, something unexpected happened——
Kaboom!
A sound reminiscent of the low rumbling of thunder emanated from over the horizon.
Immediately afterward, hundreds of treasure ships appeared in the distance, forging their way through the clouds!
“Are these the experts of the eight great orthodoxies of the southern border?” The golden-robed man frowned. “Talk about spoiling the mood.”
The ships were like mountains hurtling through the sky, and there were so many of them that they blotted out the sun. It was an incomparably grand spectacle.
Every ship was packed with people, including monstrous yao immortals and terrifyingly fierce demon immortals!
There were so many of them that it was impossible to count. This lineup was truly terrifying!
But Yang Shuang’er and her companions were perfectly calm. They weren’t overly concerned.
They were from the Celestial Yao Mountains. Their status alone was enough to instill dread in the hearts of the eight great orthodoxies of the southern border. None would dare act recklessly!
Su Yi was calm too.
“Come with us, and I guarantee that the eight great orthodoxies of the southern border won’t dare to stand in our way,” Yang Shuang’er said suddenly.
Su Yi chuckled. “If I want to leave, no one can stop me. If I want to stay, no one can force me to go.”
Yang Shuang’er’s expression darkened.
However, Yue Man and the golden-robed man found this amusing. Even crippled, Xiao Jian is still shockingly arrogant!
But that only increased their reservations. They suspected that Su Yi had cards hidden up his sleeves!
They most certainly hadn’t forgotten that this cripple had been involved in the destruction of the Sky Fire Yao Sect.
“Junior Apprentice Sister Shuang’er, don’t bother trying to persuade him any further. Let’s just stand back and watch for now,” said the golden-robed man. “Let’s see how he handles the experts of the eight great orthodoxies of the southern border!”
Yue Man’s eyes lit up, and he laughed. “A wonderful idea!”
Yang Shuang’er sighed but didn’t argue any further. It would naturally be wonderful if they could seize this opportunity to borrow the eight great orthodoxies’ hands to probe Xiao Jian’s limits.
The three of them took to the skies and hid nearby, taking A’Ling and Li Changqing with them.
Practically simultaneously, the hundreds of treasure ships arrived in the sky over Grassy Creek Village.
Even sufficiently dense clouds seemed threatening, let alone such a dense army of yao and demons.
They’d sealed the area off completely!
Dark clouds churned beneath the dome of heaven, and the skies were full of thick, dense murderous intent.
“That’s Xiao Jian. There’s no mistake!”
A black-robed old man suddenly walked off one of the treasure ships. He carried a portrait of their target. It looked just like Su Yi!
“I’m shocked he didn’t run away.”
“Run away? Where in the southern border could a cripple like him possibly flee to?”
“True enough.”
One after another, Saint Realm Immortal Lords emerged from the ranks of the eight great orthodoxies’ forces.
There were eight of them in total, and their auras filled the space between heaven and earth, extending in all directions. Their pressure was so intense that even the surrounding skies quivered.
Each of them led an army. Added together, there were over a thousand people here!
Most were yao and demon immortals, but there were quite a few Transcendents in the mix.
“Xiao Jian, our terms haven’t changed. Teach us the secret method, and we’ll leave immediately!” shouted the old man in black, his voice booming like thunder throughout the skies over Grassy Creek Village.
The villagers were all scared out of their wits. They quivered from head to toe, too afraid to leave their homes.
Terror was written all over their faces. They’d never seen anything remotely like this before. Even just gazing upon it from afar was enough to fill their hearts with despair.
Yang Shuang’er and her senior apprentice brothers watched Su Yi from their hiding spot, all of them perfectly calm. They were eager to see just how the crippled Xiao Jian planned to resolve this crisis!
A’Ling was visibly fraught with worry, while Li Changqing slumped his head in dejection, his eyes wooden.
No matter how much confidence the village headman had in Su Yi, the sheer scope of it all left him feeling helplessness and despair.
Dark clouds churned overhead. The ships were as numerous as the trees in a forest, and they were like a grand army descending upon their borders.
The eight Immortal Lords leading the army seethed with murderous intent!
Su Yi was still sprawled out in his wheelchair in the courtyard. He sighed. Then, beneath the crowd’s shocked gazes, he slowly raised his right hand.
Yang Shuang’er and her senior apprentice brothers frowned. Wait, didn’t the reports say that this cripple couldn’t even lift a finger?
“Big Brother Xiao…. Has recovered some of his strength…” A’Ling was stunned. She’d been looking after Su Yi this entire time, and she couldn’t have been any more familiar with his condition.
Not even she could have anticipated that Su Yi would suddenly move!
Then, everyone watched as purple light emanated from Su Yi’s palm, and a tripod furnace floated into the air.
The furnace was plain, old-fashioned, and about the size of a fist. Its surface was carved with all manner of ancient and mysterious Dao Markings. Startling purple light billowed from its mouth.
“What a treasure!! Could… could that be an Epoch Treasure?” Yue Man exclaimed, his eyes bulging.
The golden-robed man’s gaze heated up. “Is that what Xiao Jian’s been hiding? But he’s a cripple. How could he possibly use such a treasure?”
Yang Shuang’er found this hard to believe. “A divine treasure? How could a cripple like him possibly have such a treasure!?”
The eight Immortal Lords were stunned, too. What level of treasure is that!?
Despite the immense distance between them, they felt intense pressure bearing down on them and assailing them right in the face!!
“Attack together! Capture him and seize that treasure!” one of the Immortal Lords said gravely.
An army of over a hundred yao and demons took action, shooting through the air and attacking from on high. They unleashed all manner of secret arts and treasures.
Kaboom!
The heavens shook, the earth swayed, and the sky split.
From a distance, it seemed that the secret arts and treasures combined to form a flood of power. It was like the river of stars bursting through a dam and pouring explosively onto the world below.
The sheer destructive power made even the distant Demon Crow Mountains sway violently.
If their attacks landed, they’d wipe Grassy Creek Village from the face of the earth. None of the villagers would survive!
But it was then that a streak of purple light spurted from the furnace hovering over Su Yi’s palm.
Boom!
Purple light arced through the air, brilliant and translucent. As it swept past, it destroyed every last one of the enemies’ secret arts and treasures.
The hundred-plus yao and demon experts were cut down like grass, their souls scattered to the wind.
Not even a fragment of armor remained!
Even the dark clouds hovering beneath the firmament were ripped open. The light of heaven poured through the rift, creating ten thousand miles of clear skies.
Su Yi’s eyes silently narrowed in contentment. That familiar sunlight had returned, but…
He no longer needed it.
Deathly silence descended over the crowd. Everyone was overcome with astonishment.
A single treasure had, in just one casual strike, annihilated over one hundred experts!!! Who wouldn’t have been astonished after witnessing this terrifying spectacle?
Yang Shuang’er, Yue Man, and the man in golden robes gasped. All of them looked stricken. There’s no doubt about it. That really is a divine treasure!
“This…” Li Changqing had given in to despair earlier, but seeing this left him wide-eyed and tongue-tied.
A’Ling was stunned too. “Big Brother Xiao…”
The experts of the eight great orthodoxies, both the eight Immortal Lords leading the group and their subordinates, all looked stricken.
“Little Monkey, I know it’s beneath you, but I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you to kill these people,” Su Yi said softly.
A general’s sword was not for killing flies, but there was nothing for it. He had no choice but to send the little monkey to swat these troublesome pests.
“As you command, Master!”
A figure suddenly shot out of the Divine Replenishment Furnace.
In the blink of an eye, it expanded into a roughly ten-foot-tall monkey with fiery golden eyes. Its fur coursed with chaotic energy.
The additional heads and limbs were mere illusions, not quite tangible, but the monkey looked as if he had three heads and six arms.
Boom!
When the little monkey appeared, the dome of heaven quivered, the earth swayed, and the skies trembled on all sides. An all-encompassing destructive power swept outward.
The beasts of the wilderness of the Demon Crow Mountains prostrated themselves in terror, wailing repeatedly. They didn’t even dare to struggle.
“This… this…” The experts of the eight great orthodoxies of the southern border were completely dumbstruck. Is that a yao god!?
If not, how could it possibly have such a terrifying aura?
“Retreat!!” someone shrieked.
The Immortal Lords fled into the distance like mad.
This was a run-down village in the middle of nowhere, and Xiao Jian was a cripple, yet he had both a suspected divine treasure and a suspected yao god accompanying him. None of them could have dared to even imagine this!
A god!
Here in the Billowing Blue Realm, gods were unparalleled, ruler-like existences!!
“You’re right, Master. They really are like a swarm of flies,” the monkey said with disdain.
He stretched out one of his hands, then pressed down on the air.
Boom!
The hundreds of treasure ships filling the sky exploded, and the experts on board, no matter their cultivation, popped like soap bubbles.
The entire stretch of sky shattered, forming a massive chasm, with rifts spreading in all directions like a spiderweb.
Not one person survived!!
That’s right. Just one palm strike, and the armies of the eight great orthodoxies of the southern border were swatted like flies!
This bloody, tyrannical scene startled Yang Shuang’er and her companions out of their wits. Chills coursed through their entire bodies, as if they’d been plunged into an icy abyss.
A yao god!! Xiao Jian actually had a god accompanying him!!
It’s no wonder he’s seemed so fearless this entire time, and it’s no wonder he didn’t take us at all seriously even though we’re disciples of the Celestial Yao Mountains.
We’ve really gone and kicked an iron board this time!
Su Yi couldn’t even be bothered to watch. A few flies, that’s all, and they’d died in a single strike. They were in no way worthy of his attention.
