First Immortal of the Sword - Chapter 2260 - Repeated Good Luck

Chapter 2260 – Repeated Good Luck
I cheated?
Before Su Yi could respond, the ox-like Mountain Guardian Beast, Cang Ji, appeared.
It said gravely, “Esteemed Patrolling Spirit, when this man passed through the gates, I sensed another presence on his person, but I couldn’t confirm it.”
Cang Ji looked at Su Yi, an unfriendly expression on its face.
Su Yi furrowed his brow.
The yellow finch said, “Those who break the rules will be punished by them in turn. He wasn’t punished, so you cannot consider him a rulebreaker.”
Cang Ji froze, stunned.
Suddenly, a wisp of chaos light fell like rain, condensing into a five-colored talisman in front of Su Yi.
“That’s a Five Aggregates Talisman. Carry it with you, and you can go where you please on Red Pine Mountain,” explained the yellow finch. “You can also use it to sense the location of the Five Elements Altar.”
Su Yi accepted the talisman. “Thank you.”
“I don’t think highly of your chances, but I have high hopes for the unexpected developments you’ll set into motion,” said the finch. It took one last deep look at Su Yi before beating its wings and vanishing in a flash.
Cang Ji glared coldly at Su Yi. “Don’t let me catch you cheating! Or else…”
“Or else what?” Su Yi interrupted. “Why not just fight me here and now?”
Cang Ji fell silent. In the end, it just snorted coldly. “I will not break the rules of Red Pine Mountain, but I can say with certainty that if someone like you tries to participate in the Battle for Order, you’ll die beyond a fraction of a doubt!”
With that, it turned to leave.
Su Yi just laughed.
Chaos mist permeated the air, and the slopes of Red Pine Mountain were steep and grand. The sky was dotted with stars flashing with the colors of the five elements.
Red Pine Mountain seemed utterly mysterious, full of the air of the unknown.
Su Yi stood in place and pondered briefly before beginning his climb.
He understood Red Pine Mountain as a place covered with all manner of unbelievable good fortune unheard of in the outside world. These included mysterious chaos medicines, Grand Dao source energies, naturally formed treasures, and opportunities to enter Eternity… among others.
This was what most of the cultivators who’d come here were after. Only a handful really wanted to participate in the Battle for Order.
Most were just here in search of treasure, but… even that was perilous!
Red Pine Mountain wasn’t just home to the Mountain Guardian Beasts. Its slopes were infested with vicious spirits born of chaos.
These spirits were known as Chaos Beasts. Rumor had it that they were manifested from concentrated, turbid chaos energy, and they were innately malevolent, impure, and wicked.
Su Yi wasn’t interested in any of that, nor did he have any intention of hunting for treasure. He had just three goals: proving his Dao, fighting in the Battle for Order, and killing his enemies. That was all.
He looked around, his brow furrowed in thought. Isn’t the chaos energy here a bit too dense? And its full of Grand Dao source energy. Setting aside the good fortune, if any ordinary expert simply cultivated here for a bit, their cultivation would advance by leaps and bounds.
As Su Yi pondered, he sensed his surroundings and sighed.
Red Pine Mountain really was the source of the myriad Daos of the God Domain. It was like their nest, the place they’d first arisen. Pick any spot on its slopes, and it’d be a rare, first-rate blessed ground by the standards of the outside world.
Mere moments later, Su Yi silently came to a halt. A steep cliff stood before him, a bright red tree about as thick as his arm rooted in the rock. Its branches were bare, red as blood, and glowing with resplendent light.
A single fruit shaped like a dragon’s claw hung from its tallest branch, scattering an eye-catching rain of bright red light.
Su Yi could tell at a glance that this was a mysterious chaos medicine. It was full of shocking Eternal power!
It’s true what they say. In the God Domain, chaos lifeforms can only grow here on Red Pine Mountain. It’s no wonder that in ancient times, anyone who entered Red Pine Mountain and escaped alive managed to achieve Eternity… Su Yi sighed to himself.
It seemed unbelievable. The God Domain wasn’t on the River of Destiny, yet mysterious chaos medicines imbued with Eternal power grew on Red Pine Mountain. Who could have imagined such a thing?
Whoosh!
Su Yi stepped into the air and reached for the little red tree rooted in the cliffside.
The moment he did so, a streak of black light exploded into being, its claws headed directly for his forehead.
Good fortune and danger went hand-in-hand. Su Yi was accustomed to such things, so he simply pressed his fingers into a makeshift sword and sliced the air.
This attack might have looked light and airy, but in truth, it was mighty enough to decapitate a False Eternal in a single blow.
But something strange happened. The sword qi cleaved into that black light like a knife through water. It cleaved open a gash, but the halved light continued forward!
Even more unbelievably, in the face of that black light, Su Yi’s defensive powers might as well not have existed. It couldn’t block the black light in the slightest.
It instantly pierced his forehead!
Boom!
Su Yi’s sea of consciousness boiled as the black light bore its way into his soul, transforming into an incomparably enormous black dragon. Its mountainously vast body erupted with turbid, malevolent light and tried to envelop Su Yi’s soul.
But it was then that Su Yi’s soul lit up, and unparalleled, unstoppable sword force swept outward.
The turbid light filling his sea of consciousness receded with a bang.
The black dragon sensed the danger, turned, and fled, but it was one step too late. The endless light enveloped its enormous.
In the blink of an eye, it had been burnt to ash!
Everything returned to stillness.
Su Yi could clearly sense that, as the black dragon died, pure soul power fell like rain, nourishing the “soil” of his soul.
Su Yi’s cultivation base had already reached the pinnacle of his three stages of the Undying Realm, but this power didn’t go to waste. His soul gathered it up and hid it for later. It would strengthen his foundations when it came time to prove his Dao and enter Eternity.
I’m afraid even a False Eternal most likely would have died beneath that attack, thought Su Yi.
Red Pine Mountain was indeed home to endless good fortune, but it was also home to endless dangers. Anyone foolish enough to get complacent would inevitably perish on its slopes.
Without any further delays, Su Yi flashed through the air, drew near that steep cliff, and pulled the little red tree out by the roots.
He nodded approvingly. This really isn’t bad. The whole plant, from its fruit to its root hairs, is full of Eternal power. Such treasures are rare indeed.
Su Yi was quite pleased. The way he saw it, this mysterious chaos medicine was at least as valuable as a Fragment of Heaven’s Will.
These were exactly the sort of treasures he’d need when he proved his Dao and entered Eternity, and he’d encountered one such stroke of good fortune not long after stepping onto Red Pine Mountain.
Su Yi couldn’t help but feel increasingly eager for the rest of this expedition.
He put the secret chaos medicine away, took out the Five Aggregates Talisman, and continued on his way.
The Five Aggregates Talisman was unique. When he examined it with his divine sense, it functioned just like a compass.
Except it pointed toward the Five Elements Altar, not north.
Shortly after, Su Yi passed an enormous lake and plucked the golden lotus growing at its center.
The lotus had long since withered, but not before growing a golden seedpod.
The pod only contained a single seed, and it shone like molten gold. Its surface was covered in countless Eternal Markings, all of them incomparably mystical.
This mysterious chaos medicine wasn’t any weaker than the fiery little tree!
As Su Yi plucked the golden lotus, he cut down a Chaos Beast. It looked almost like a Ba Serpent, but it had a single white horn. It was a thousand feet long, and it breathed baleful golden mist. It was terrifying, at least as dangerous as a False Eternal.
But against Su Yi, it died beneath a single slash.
Its massive body fell apart, leaving only its horn behind. The horn brimmed with Eternal charm. It, too, was a rare, Eternal-level divine material.
Su Yi went on to encounter one treasure born of heaven and earth after another.
For instance, he saw a single verdant wheat plant growing in a stretch of scorched earth. Its kernels were full, resplendent, and ready to harvest. They glowed five different colors, and emanated a startling air of chaos.
Then, there was an ink-black vine growing in an ancient forest. It was incomparably firm; Su Yi couldn’t slice or damage it even with the Sword of Proximity.
He had to borrow a wisp of the Sword of the Nine Hells’ power to cut a section for future use.
Even then, he only managed to take a section. Once cut, it was as if he’d kicked a hornet’s nest; the entire forest caught ablaze. Countless malevolent, turbid flames surged forth, almost trapping and killing Su Yi.
He ran into several other mysterious chaos medicines, too. All of them were impossible to find in the outside world.
Without exception, potentially lethal danger lurked nearby!
Fortunately, as terrifying as the danger was, Su Yi could handle it.
He just walked along on foot, stopping only to gather treasure. In less than two hours, he’d gathered nine types of mysterious chaos medicine.
That aside, after killing the Chaos Beasts protecting them, he acquired divine materials. Some could be used to make pills or treasures, and all of them were imbued with an air of Eternity.
Even though Su Yi had seen plenty of heavenly materials and earthly treasures over the years, the sheer enormity of this harvest left him unwittingly fazed.
Red Pine Mountain’s good fortune was more than just abundant. All of it was top quality and incomparably rare!
Su Yi couldn’t help but suspect that even Unfettered Realm Eternals would have drooled at the sight of this good fortune!
I wonder how much good fortune I’ll acquire by the time I reach the Five Elements Altar, thought Su Yi. He was increasingly eager.
Although he didn’t know it, the other experts who’d passed the trial of the gates and made it onto Red Pine Mountain had also received Five Aggregates Talismans. They too were rushing toward the Five Elements Altar.
But all of them were traveling completely different paths!
Simply put, everyone who stepped onto the mountain appeared in a different place, with a completely different path to the Five Elements Altar.
Su Yi also didn’t know it, but he was the only one who’d run into so much extraordinary good fortune in rapid succession.
The others either hadn’t run into any good fortune, or they’d only run into it once or twice. None had gathered such an abundance in just two short hours.
“Patrolling Spirit, did you perhaps arrange all of this good fortune for him?” Cang Ji couldn’t help but ask.
As a Mountain Guardian Beast, it could sense everything Su Yi had done and acquired along his journey. His harvest was so incredible that even the Mountain Guardian Beast was left dumbstruck. Isn’t this guy… a bit too lucky?
“No! I can’t break the rules, either!” said the yellow finch. Its eyes flashed with undisguisable confusion.
