Chapter 2693 – Blood-Red Plum Blossoms Fill Time and Space
Cultivators could achieve enlightenment and ascend overnight.
But this woman of mysterious origins had ascended instantaneously, her cultivation base shooting up like bamboo after spring rains.
She didn’t trigger any shocking or strange phenomena, and no one could tell just how many realms she broke through in a row.
But the four Heavenly Sovereigns and the dozen or so Heavenly Monarchs could tell that the mysterious woman in white was far more dangerous than before!
“Don’t tell me she’s like those two old-timers we met before?” The four Heavenly Sovereigns frowned.
Earlier, the River Lord and Gongye Futu had appeared side-by-side, charging into the endless void and the River of Destiny.
In the process, they destroyed Heavenly Sovereign Wen’s clone in a single slap.
Who could possibly have forgotten such a thing?
And now, a woman in white had shown up. She seemed even stronger and even more mysterious, to the point that these four long-established rulers of the Eternal Heavens Domain didn’t dare to lower their guard.
The atmosphere was stifled and oppressive.
After Su Wanjun arrived, she gazed intently at Xiao Jian, then said, “Now that I’m here, you can relax.”
She could tell that Xiao Jian’s life force had dried up. His essence, qi, and spirit had run dry, and his body was as brittle as rotten wood. It seemed a single gentle touch would be enough to shatter him.
Yet his back remained upright, like a sword piercing the cloudy dome of heaven!
An indescribable grief and guilty conscience flooded Su Wanjun’s heart. If I’d arrived a little earlier, perhaps… this wouldn’t have happened.
Xiao Jian’s gaze shifted slightly, and a faint, barely audible voice escaped his lips. “I’ll just have to trouble you, then.”
He looked relieved, relaxed, and at ease.
But there was no sign of sadness.
In the end, his straight-backed figure scattered into a rain of light, which dimmed and vanished.
The scholar who’d “bravely defended a pass against an invading army” had now vanished from this world.
Su Wanjun raised her hand, and a bloody, yellowed scroll landed in her palm.
This was the only thing Xiao Jian had left behind in this world.
Su Wanjun sighed softly. The grief vanished from her expression, replaced with steelly cold.
Heavenly Sovereign Ling said, “I don’t know your origins, but I’d like to urge you not to oppose us. It would be most unwise.”
“Unwise? How so?” Su Wanjun asked casually, gazing into the void, seemingly in thought.
To the Heavenly Sovereigns and Monarchs, this sheer disregard came across as wildly arrogant!
“Numerous changes have affected the River of Destiny,” said Heavenly Sovereign Ling, lightning crackling around him. He was utterly imposing. “How powerful were those two? Yet they had no choice but to proceed to the River of Destiny to do battle. If I’m not mistaken, they’ll perish beyond a shadow of a doubt.”
“Oh?” said Su Wanjun. “You’re saying that if I attack you, I’ll die, too?”
As she spoke, she retracted her gaze and looked at Heavenly Sovereign Ling.
Heavenly Sovereign Ling instantly felt intense pressure bearing down on him!
But his expression didn’t so much as waver. He just said, “I dare not speak with certainty regarding matters of life and death, but I can say with certainty that if you insist on sticking out your neck on Su Yi’s behalf, you’ll bring trouble upon yourself.”
Su Wanjun said coolly, “Killing you will be no ‘trouble’ at all.”
Heavenly Sovereign Changhen couldn’t help but laugh, while a mocking jeer tugged at Heavenly Sovereign E’s lips.
Heavenly Sovereign Yaoguang frowned. “I see you’re trying to buy time for Su Yi, but… do you really think your presence is enough to intimidate us to the point that we dare not attack?”
Su Wanjun shook her head. “I’m not trying to buy Su Yi time. I’m trying to buy myself time.”
With that, she raised her hand.
A streak of ethereal red sword qi appeared in the palm of her hand.
“This stretch of spacetime is too fragile. I had no choice but to adjust my cultivation base as much as possible,” said Su Wanjun, holding the red sword qi at eye level.
She examined it intently, then said, as if to herself, “But before long, I’ll figure out how to use enough power to kill you without destroying this place.”
The four Heavenly Sovereigns’ eyes flashed, and their frowns deepened.
“What an unfortunate coincidence. We old-timers’ clones represent the limit of power in this stretch of spacetime,” Heavenly Sovereign Ling said icily.
If this endless stretch of spacetime was a battlefield, then they were its rulers, its supreme experts.
If they wanted to, they could destroy the entire place at any time.
They’d just have to pay a bit of a price to do so.
Off in the distance, the young monk suddenly interjected, “It seems to this humble monk that we’d all better take a step back. Victory today is not to be found here, but on the River of Destiny.”
The four Heavenly Sovereigns were briefly stunned. They hadn’t anticipated that the young monk would say something so spineless.
“Are you the Dipankara Buddha? The Buddha of the Present? Or the Buddha of the Future?” Heavenly Sovereign Changhen said inquisitively. “No matter which one you are now, you’ve become far more craven than you were at your former peak.”
The young monk sighed and said no more.
Heavenly Sovereign E, meanwhile, turned his attention to the Heavenly Monarchs and commanded, “Since she wants to stall for time, we’ll play with her. You all head to Red Pine Mountain. Don’t worry about a thing. With us here, she cannot possibly interfere!”
Madam Purple Blue, Meng Tianya, and the others exchanged glances and were just about to take action when Su Wanjun suddenly said, “There we go.”
It was just one sentence, just three short words.
As her cold, clear voice rang out, Su Wanjun took a step forward. Her clothing fluttered around her, and blood-red plum blossom diagrams formed beneath her feet, blooming as if alive.
One step, and the entire stretch of endless void shook violently.
Indescribably terrifying sword force silently spread, extending and growing continuously.
It seemed that no matter how vast and distant the void, that sword force could blanket it all!
Meanwhile, Madam Purple Blue stiffened. Her revolving purple and blue swords suddenly froze as if locked in ice.
Meng Tianya of the Court of the Southern Heavens was just about to draw the longsword on his back when he froze in place, while the red-skinned gourd hanging from his waist quivered.
The blood-red ink flood dragon within Heavenly Monarch Ling Zhu of Limitless Palace’s inkstone popped like a soap bubble.
Heavenly Monarch Xun’s mind buzzed, and his eyes widened. He’d only just taken a step forward, only for his foot to freeze in place, unable to go any lower.
The other ten or so Heavenly Sovereigns froze in place, unable to move a muscle, like figures in a painting.
The four Heavenly Sovereigns and the young monk reacted the quickest, immediately unleashing their divine abilities to block the spreading sword force.
Boom!!
Sword force swept forth like a wave lapping the shore, enveloping the entire stretch of endless spacetime void.
But the four Heavenly Sovereigns and the young monk were like boulders in turbulent seas. Although the sword force slammed into them, they neutralized it all.
Even so, their expressions shifted.
Because the mysterious woman in white hadn’t really attacked. All she’d done was take a single step forward!
One step, and sword force filled heaven and earth, enveloping the entire endless spacetime void!
Most terrifying of all, the Heavenly Monarchs were completely suppressed, to the point that they couldn’t move a muscle.
Experts of the fifth realm of Eternity were now as helpless as ants, unable to move a muscle, ruthlessly suppressed!
“This way, the endless void won’t be destroyed. You’re welcome to attack now,” Su Wanjun said calmly.
It was just one light, airy sentence, but it was full of contemptuous pride.
“Go!” Heavenly Sovereign E bellowed, and a black spear appeared in his grip, instantly flying toward Su Wanjun’s forehead.
Su Wanjun just stood there, calmly watching the black spear’s approach.
It shattered, inch by inch, without ever reaching her.
“So, that’s all you’ve got,” said Su Wanjun. “I want to go to the River of Destiny. If you can stop me, you can live. If you can’t, you’ll die.”
With that, she proceeded, white clothing swaying around her.
With one step, space revolved around her, and the void boiled over. Endless sword force whooshed forth, blooming into countless scattered flower petals.
They were as red as blood, and searingly bright as flame.
Like plum blossoms riding a frigid gale.
When the petals flew, the trapped Heavenly Monarchs could only watch helplessly as the flowers engulfed them.
There was no pain and no dread. They didn’t feel anything at all.
Because the moment the petals enveloped them, their bodies, souls, hearts, essence, qi, and spirit were completely annihilated.
They didn’t even see their deaths coming!
The petals were as red as blood, like flowers scattered to the wind.
Ten Heavenly Monarchs of the Heavenly Fate Realm had died, destroyed in both body and soul. Even their Eternal Sources had been eradicated.
No trace of them remained.
Boom!!!
The four Heavenly Sovereigns and the young monk attacked without hesitation, giving it their all.
Calamitous power flooded around Heavenly Sovereign E, like the river of heaven bursting through a dam and sweeping out in all directions.
Heavenly Sovereign Ling rubbed his hands together, and a resplendent waterfall of lightning surged forth, like divine punishment. This grandmaster of the Dao of Lightning now displayed utterly terrifying, utterly tyrannical power.
Heavenly Sovereign Changhen bellowed, three chaos-like lotuses floating around his head like the character “品.” Each bloomed, breathing out endless flames of the Grand Dao that incinerated everything on all sides.
Heavenly Sovereign Yaoguang’s attack was the strangest. He held a radiant moon aloft in one hand, a blazing sun in the other. The myriad Daos of the heavens manifested in their alternations, erupting with seemingly immeasurable, terrifying power.
The young monk, however, retreated!
He spun around and shot further away. With every step he took, a lotus platform appeared beneath his feet, emanating spacetime energy.
A lotus grew with every step, and every step carried him into a new spacetime!
His speed was simply shocking!
Su Wanjun disregarded all this. She just continued ahead.
Every step was light and airy, yet with each step, the sword force enveloping the endless void rose explosively.
The plum blossoms were like a blood-red flood. They blanketed everything, and there was nowhere they could not reach!
Kaboom!
The endless void shook violently.
How terrifying were the four Heavenly Sovereigns’ attacks? They repeatedly scattered and dissipated the flower petals.
But their expressions were increasingly solemn.
