First Immortal of the Sword - Chapter 2725 - Pu Xuan’s Sword

Chapter 2725 – Pu Xuan’s Sword
Luan Yunzhong’s gaze was solemn as he transmitted a warning. “This isn’t good. When they question us, whatever you do, don’t reveal anything that happened in the Golden Spirit Hidden Realm!”
He then told Su Yi and Pu Xuan who the three cultivators on board the tower ship were.
The Daoist with the curly beard was inner sect elder Xu Zhong of Fire Dragon Temple. He was a Silent Realm expert.
Fire, the young Daoist who’d died in the Golden Spirit Hidden Realm, was his martial nephew.
The dark-robed man with the jade flute was called Wang Chongjing. He was one of the five Silent Realm Mountain Lords of Bluebird Palace.
The movingly beautiful woman in blue was called Yu Qingwan. She was an elder of the Divine Willow Mountain Yu Family and a high-ranking authority figure famed throughout Blue Peak Continent.
She’d broken into the Silent Realm long before the other three.
As for the old man in the purple feather coat? Luan Yunzhong didn’t recognize him. However, the way the three Silent Realm experts stood around him, like stars clustering around the moon, proved that the old man was someone important.
According to Luan Yunzhong’s analysis, the four of them were most likely waiting here to receive Liu Shangchuan, Yu Zhensong, and the others!
Given the circumstances, they naturally couldn’t divulge what had happened in the Golden Spirit Hidden Realm.
“Uncle Luan, even if we try to hide it, I’m afraid it’ll do us no good. Don’t forget that those guys had long since planned to silence us in the Golden Spirit Hidden Realm,” Qin Suqing transmitted at top speeds.
Luan Yunzhong’s brow furrowed. He found this incomparably troublesome.
If they wanted to return to the Blue Peak Continent, they needed to pass through that port, yet powerful enemies were watching over it. How could their enemies possibly just let them through?
Su Yi took out a jug of wine and said, “We cannot retreat. If we do, they’ll only be even more certain that their sectmates’ deaths had something to do with us.”
Luan Yunzhong sighed. He realized that. How could he not?
Pu Xuan, however, just laughed. “Don’t worry. Let me handle this.”
Su Yi asked with great interest, “What do you plan to do?”
Pu Xuan shook his snow-white sleeve and said solemnly, “The heavens will surely protect those whose hearts are full of compassion.”
The others were stunned, but before they could ask any further questions, the curly-bearded Daoist said gravely, “Luan Yunzhong, get over here! Senior Liang Shan of the Heart-Tempering Sword House has questions for you!”
Liang Shan of the Heart-Tempering Sword House!
Luan Yunzhong and Qin Suqing instantly looked stricken. There was no doubt about it. The old man in the purple feather coat was from the Heart-Tempering Sword House, just like Liu Shangchuan.
Pu Xuan laughed and stepped forth. “What do you want to know? Allow me to answer your questions.”
Luan Yunzhong and Qin Suqing’s hearts clenched, but just as they were about to stop Pu Xuan, Su Yi smiled and pulled them back.
“Seems to me that we should just stand back and watch. Let’s see how Fellow Daoist Pu demonstrates his compassion,” Su Yi said softly. “Besides, he was involved in what happened in the Golden Spirit Hidden Realm. Doesn’t that make him the best man for the job? Better to let him handle it.”
Luan Yunzhong and Qin Suqing exchanged glances. Both fell silent. They could tell what Su Yi was getting at. They thought, If we offend the Heart-Tempering Sword House, we’ll implicate all of Sky Profound Court.
Even if we avoid mentioning our sect, Fire Dragon Temple, Bluebird Palace, and the Yu Family are sure to seek retribution.
“If Fellow Daoist Pu Xuan is in trouble, we absolutely won’t just sit back and watch!” Qin Suqing gnashed her teeth.
“I agree completely!” Luan Yunzhong said gravely.
Su Yi nodded to himself.
Meanwhile, when the people on board the distant tower ship saw Pu Xuan approach in his billowing white robes, they furrowed their brows. Who is that guy?
Xu Zhong asked grimly, “And who might you be?”
Pu Xuan said with a laugh, “It doesn’t matter who I am. What matters is that I can answer any question you can think of as an expression of my goodwill.”
“Oh?” said Xu Zhong. “Tell me, then. What happened to the sectmates we sent to the Golden Spirit Forbidden Zone?”
He glared at Pu Xuan, his gaze not the least bit friendly.
Liang Shan of the Heart-Tempering Sword House, Wang Chongjing of Bluebird Palace, and Yu Qingwan of the Yu Family were trying to size Pu Xuan up, too.
Even they had to admit that the man in white was extraordinarily elegant. Just looking at him was enough to make one feel as if they’d left the mundane behind completely.
“They’re dead,” Pu Xuan said with a sigh. “They coveted a masterwork of calligraphy, and they went so far as to launch an attack on the Golden Spirit Hidden Realm. In the end, all of them met with disaster.”
They’re dead!? The group’s expressions darkened.
Lian Shan’s eyes flashed with murderous intent. “Are you saying that Ol’ Devil Golden Spirit killed them all?”
Pu Xuan nodded. “I am indeed.”
“So how did you four make it out alive?” Wang Chongjing said coldly.
Pu Xuan laughed. “Perhaps we survived because all of us are compassionate, and none of us acted wickedly?”
The corners of Luan Yunzhong’s lips twitched. Fellow Daoist Pu Xuan is still in a mood to crack jokes at a time like this? He sure is gutsy!
Qin Suqing’s eyes sparkled. Who wouldn’t have been impressed by Pu Xuan’s dashing elegance and calm composure?
Su Yi took a sip of wine and said nothing.
“Cut the crap, dammit!” Xu Zhong of Fire Dragon Temple said with fury. “Any more nonsense, and don’t blame us for our poor manners!”
Pu Xuan sighed. “If I lie, may the heavens strike me dead.”
Liang Shan of the Heart-Tempering Sword House said coldly, “No need to waste any more time talking to him. Let’s capture and interrogate them. We’ll naturally get our answers then.”
“Got it!” Xu Zhong, Wang Zhongjing, and Yu Qingwan instantly jumped overboard, their qi rumbling and booming and their murderous intent on full display.
Pu Xuan sighed in exasperation. “We really can’t talk this over?”
“Die!” Xu Zhong was the first to attack. The purple and gold gourd on his back flew into the air, countless streaks of black lightning bursting forth. All of them descended upon Pu Xuan.
Pu Xuan drew the sword strapped across his back.
All he did was draw the sword, but the black lightning filling the sky split, and terrifying rifts formed in the void. The golden purple gourd flew backward, a startling gash on its surface.
Xu Zhong looked stricken.
Wang Chongjing and Yu Qing were just about to attack when they saw this. Their hearts instantly clenched, and their expressions grew solemn.
Over on the tower ship, Liang Shan’s eyes narrowed. His gaze focused on the sword in Pu Xuan’s hands.
Its blade was flecked with rust, yet it was full of profound, inscrutable sword intent. Its light was immeasurable, as radiant as the sun!
Is he perhaps a Buddhist sword cultivator? Liang Shan’s thoughts raced.
Meanwhile, Pu Xuan gripped the sword, sleeves billowing around him, and said gently, “It’s not too late. Rein in your horse before it carries you over a cliff. Repent, and I’ll help you find the shore of the Sea of Bitterness. Remain stubborn, and you’ll be lost to its turbid waters forever.”
He spoke with the solemn countenance of a Buddhist statue, his whole body glowing with holy light, like a lofty, powerful monk.
“Attack together!” roared Xu Zhong.
His Silence Realm cultivation base rumbled and boomed as he gripped his purple and gold gourd and stirred up endless churning lightning.
Meanwhile, astral power gathered beneath Wang Chongjing’s feet. He tapped the void with his jade flute, and countless arcs of the light of the Grand Dao descended from above.
Yu Qingwan silently transformed into a dreamlike, ethereal rain of light, then vanished in place. Countless golden glyphs surged forth where she’d stood moments prior, each character reminiscent of a flower petal. Together, the markings swept toward Pu Xuan like a windstorm.
Three Silence Realm experts were attacking at once. Their combined force was naturally extraordinary.
When Pu Xuan saw this, he sighed. “When someone is unwilling to save themselves, not even the heavens can help them.”
He attacked, a streak of white flashing through the void.
Xu Zhong’s body split, and his purple and gold gourd exploded into pieces. The lightning filling the sky collapsed soon after.
As Xu Zhong’s blood splattered the air, Wang Chongjing turned and fled.
Only for a streak of sword qi to enter his field of view.
A moment later, his body exploded, offering no more resistance than paper window panelling.
Only then did Pu Xuan appear where Wang Chongjing had stood moments prior.
He scanned the area, then suddenly thrust his sword downward.
One hundred thousand feet of void shattered and split, and all of the countless petal-like golden markings exploded.
Yu Qingwan was forced into view, but her entire body was covered in gashes.
“No, don’t!” Yu Qingwan cried out in terror and turned to flee.
Pu Xuan smiled faintly. “There’s no end to the Sea of Bitterness. Allow me to help you find release.”
Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, a dense downpour of sword rain came crashing down, enveloping Yu Qingwan completely.
The onlookers watched with their naked eyes as a Silence Realm expert exploded into bloody mist and vanished. It was like death by a thousand cuts.
It was over in a flash, so quick that it seemed unbelievable.
Luan Yunzhong gasped, while Qin Suqing’s eyes widened.
Su Yi just had another sip of wine. He just felt that, while Pu Xuan was strong, he wasted too much time on idle chatter. It made his victory unsatisfying.
Over on the tower ship, Liang Shan’s expression was incomparably dark. He bellowed, “I wouldn’t have guessed that I’d run into an Immeasurable Realm Buddhist sword cultivator in a place like this!”
Pu Xuan gently caressed the flat of his blade and laughed. “I contemplate Buddhism, cultivate the sword, and strive for goodness, but I’m not a true disciple of Buddhism.”
As he spoke, he walked through the void, drawing closer to the tower ship.
Liang Shan laughed coldly. “What, you’d dare kill me? Aren’t you worried that the one hundred thousand sword cultivators of Heart-Tempering Sword House will eliminate everyone related to you going back nine generations?”
He stood there, utterly fearless.
Pu Xuan couldn’t help but laugh as he swung his sword.
Boom!
That mountainously tall tower ship split in two.
Dust and smoke billowed into the air as Liang Shan shot overboard, wretched as could be.
His face was ashen as he exhaled, spitting out a flying sword. He roared, “What are you doing? Everyone in the Eternal Heavens Domain knows that if you oppose the Heart-Tempering Sword House, we’ll chase you to the ends of the earth and cut you down!”
Pu Xuan clucked his tongue. “How scary!”
Although he said this, he was already launching his next attack.
Sword light flashed through the air.
Clang!!!
Liang Shan was forced back several thousand feet, his flying sword trembling violently.
When he saw that Pu Xuan was launching his next attack, he gnashed his teeth and shattered the sword-shaped talisman hidden in his sleeves.
