First Immortal of the Sword - Chapter 2731 - Why Are You So Weak?

Chapter 2731 – Why Are You So Weak?
The Great Qin Empire’s imperial city was incomparably grand.
Eldest Prince Qin Shangque stood atop Heaven’s Viewpoint, leaning against the railing, his robes fluttering in the wind.
He gazed at a certain section of the city and said, “He’s just an Unfettered Realm Dao Lord. Don’t you think we’re overdoing it?”
The thin old Daoist beside him, Yu Tong, stroked his beard and laughed. “A lion uses its full strength even when hunting a rabbit. With the Golden Halo Dragon Formation, the city will remain undamaged even if something goes wrong.”
Qin Shangque subtly inclined his head, then suddenly asked, “Do you really think my little sister has been deceived?”
Yu Tong’s gaze was playful. “We’re in the middle of a competition between imperial scions. Does that really matter?”
Qin Shangque sighed and said no more.
…
Meanwhile, deep within the palace, Second Prince Qin Liuhe was still fishing, legs crossed, the very picture of idleness.
A jade mirror hovered before him, reflecting the scene unfolding in the imperial city.
Qin Liuhe laughed derisively. “They actually sent Wen Biechen? Don’t tell me the imperial clan is that low on manpower?”
The white-haired old woman beside him said expressionlessly, “The Great Qin Empire’s affairs are Sky Profound Court’s affairs. Wen Biechen likes Suqing, and everyone knows it. It’s not strange that he’d choose to intervene.”
Qin Liuhe stroked his jaw. “Isn’t that Pu Xuan guy the true danger here?”
The old woman laughed. “Just sit back and watch the show.”
Qin Liuhe laughed. “I love a spectacle, but I’ll be the first to object if it’s lacking in excitement!”
…
Meanwhile, near the imperial city’s four gates, four inscrutable, terrifying presences shot forth, rising into the heavens. All of them gazed down at the same part of the city.
These were the auras of the imperial city’s four gatekeepers.
Meanwhile, several figures appeared outside Su Yi’s temporary residence, a mix of men and women. Their auras were withdrawn, and they stood there in silence, quietly locking down the entire area.
Pu Xuan was still in seclusion inside, seated cross-legged, eyes closed. He was still cultivating; it seemed he had no idea what was going on outside.
“Martial Uncle, why are you doing this!?” Qin Suqing roared in fury atop a pavilion. “Hurry up and let go of me! If anything happens to Fellow Daoist Su, I’ll never, ever forgive you!”
Yin Mu pressed his hand on her shoulder, preventing her from struggling.
“Lass, at this point, I can share this news with you,” said Yin Mu, his voice aged and hoarse. “Those outsiders, Su Xuanjun and Pu Xuan, have highly suspicious origins. They’re most likely spies for other factions!”
“Spies?” Qin Suqing was so angry that she laughed. They saved Uncle Luan and me twice! How could they possibly be spies?
Would spies have killed members of Bluebird Palace, Fire Dragon Temple, and the Yu Family? Would spies have killed an expert of the Heart-Tempering Sword House without the slightest politeness?
But she couldn’t say any of that out loud. If she did, she’d inevitably bring disaster upon the entire Great Qin Empire, as well as all of Sky Profound Court!
Her thoughts raced as she tried to figure out a way out of this situation. Soon, something occurred to her. “Does my imperial father know about this?”
Yin My said expressionlessly, “How could His Majesty not know about such an enormous disturbance?”
Qin Suqing stiffened, her heart sinking into the pit of her stomach. Has Imperial Father… tacitly approved all this!?
Meanwhile, in that isolated stretch of city streets, Su Yi stood alone, holding a gourd of wine and scanning his surroundings.
Four others appeared beside Wen Biechen, all of them flying in from different directions.
A woman in flowing palace garb stood on the eaves of a distant building, a Daoist Seal swathed in lightning hovering above her head.
A craggy-faced, powerfully built middle-aged man in warrior’s robes stood near a staircase, a broad grin on his lips.
The other two were an old man with a worn-out wooden spear and a conical hat, and a tall, thin man in red armor emblazoned with flowering branches and clouds. He gripped a golden halberd.
The halberd-wielder’s murderous intent had solidified into a black Flood Dragon swimming through the air around him.
Su Yi took a sip of wine. Inwardly, he was at a loss for words. A city-protecting formation, a peak Divine Wandering Realm Sword cultivator, and four Divine Wandering Realm old-timers!
And that’s before factoring in all those people watching from the shadows.
I’m just an early-stage Unfettered Realm cultivator. What on earth did I do to warrant such treatment?
Don’t tell me that the experts of the Great Qin Empire and Sky Profound Palace figured out who I really am?
No, that shouldn’t be it. If they’d seen through me, how could the factions of the Blue Peak Continent be foolish enough to become my enemies?
Su Yi rubbed his forehead. He couldn’t help but take another sip of wine.
He’d anticipated that they’d run into trouble on their excursion, but he hadn’t anticipated such a massive force.
To tell the truth, Su Yi wasn’t quite sure what was going on, and he found it confusing.
“Might we chat a bit first?” Su Yi looked at Wen Biechen.
Wen Biechen ignored him. All he did was tighten his grip on his spear and move closer.
With every step he took, his sword intent rose, his dense sword intent manifesting a diagram of the Grand Dao. It depicted suns, moons, and celestial bodies, with everything in its place.
This was a divine ability condensed out of Wen Biechen’s sword intent. He called it the Mountains and Rivers Sword Diagram.
Kaboom!
Heaven and earth shook violently, and the sky churned. Wen Biechen’s sword intent had thrown everything into disarray.
“Attack!” The woman standing on the eaves shouted, then shifted through the air and charged at Su Yi. Her clothing fluttered around her as she raised her Daoist Seal and sent it flying down to earth, like a divine lightning mountain slamming into the world below.
Practically simultaneously, the craggy-faced middle-aged man grinned, took a step forward, and threw a punch as if loosing an arrow from a bow.
His fist force solidified into a glittering golden dragon head, fangs bared as if intent on devouring the sky.
Meanwhile, the old man in the conical hat shook and thrust his spear, and the tall, thin man in red armor bellowed, voice booming like spring thunder, as he swung his halberd with all his might.
The four Divine Wandering Realm experts attacked together with seamless cooperation and tacit understanding!
Wen Biechen stopped in place. He’d long since gathered all of his strength, which he now swung his sword and unleashed.
The Mountains and Rivers Sword Diagram rumbled like thunder.
But before this strike landed, an astonishing scene unfolded. Su Yi moved for the first time before the battle began, swinging his sleeve.
Boom!
Both the woman in palace garb and her lightning-swathed Daoist seal flew backward like kites with their strings cut. The seal let out a mournful wail as countless minute cracks formed on its surface.
The woman’s palace garb tore open in numerous places, her snowy skin covered in countless bleeding cuts.
At the same time, that terrifying fist force shaped as a dragon’s head slammed ruthlessly into Su Yi.
This was a Divine Wandering Realm cultivator’s full-force attack; it could have shattered the vast majority of Unfettered Realm experts, destroying them in both body and soul.
However, against Su Yi, it was as ineffectual as an ant trying to shake a tree. It collapsed with a bang, unable to even damage Su Yi’s clothing.
Su Yi, meanwhile, had taken a step forward.
Several thousand feet away, the craggy-faced middle-aged man flew back, slamming through multiple buildings and landing in a heap in the distance, flesh bloodied and bones shattered and snapped. It was as if he’d been struck by a giant primordial mountain.
He just lay there in a heap, unable to get back on his feet.
The old man in the conical hat slammed into the dirt, forced to kneel with such force that the impact created a massive crater. His wooden spear snapped in two.
The armored man’s golden halberd flew from his grip, and his armor shattered and broke in countless places. He, meanwhile, was flung backward.
All Su Yi did was swing his sleeve and take a step forward. He completed both movements in a single smooth movement, as casual as could be.
Yet he’d instantly injured four Divine Wandering Realm Eternals at once!
As if a swing of his sleeves had wiped away the clouds filling the sky!
A deathly silence descended over the area.
Su Yi shook his head slightly. “You’re just so weak. You might call yourself Divine Wandering experts, but it’s as if you’re made of paper.”
Even back in the God Domain, he’d slain numerous Eternals clones and avatars of will.
On Red Pine Mountain’s Five Elements Peak, he’d killed Unfettered Realm Dao Lords before even breaking into Eternity himself.
He’d learned of Eternals’ terrifying strength firsthand during the Battle for Order.
But these four Divine Wandering Realm cultivators weren’t the least bit comparable to the Divine Wandering Realm cultivators he’d met back then. They were downright pathetic by comparison!
Su Yi quickly understood why.
Those who’d managed to cross endless time and space to reach the God Domain all hailed from Heavenly Sovereign or Heavenly Monarch-level factions.
How could ordinary cultivators of the same level possibly compete?
This was, after all, the Blue Peak Continent, the lowliest continent in the Eternal Heavens Domain.
Its Divine Wandering Realm experts were naturally far inferior to those from Heavenly Monarch and Heavenly Sovereign-level orthodoxies.
Simply put, even at the same level of cultivation, strength varied wildly!
Thus, now that Su Yi had stepped fully into Eternity, these opponents seemed wildly inept.
In truth, Su Yi wouldn’t have needed to draw his sword even against the Divine Wandering Dao Lords of Heavenly Sovereign-level factions. A single punch would have been enough to blast them to bits!
Smoke billowed into the air, and desperate cries rang out, one after another.
The street lay in ruin, but only momentarily. It soon recovered.
This was the power of the Golden Halo Dragon Formation. It might have looked as if they were still in the imperial city, but in truth, they were in an isolated space. The streets were but an illusion.
“There really is something off about you!” Wen Biechen’s gaze was solemn.
The attack he’d been gathering power for had yet to descend, but his companions were already badly injured. This came as quite a shock to this unparalleled genius of Sky Profound Court.
Wen Biechen was finally talking to Su Yi, but Su Yi was no longer in any mood to chat.
He took a step forward and appeared in front of Wen Biechen.
Wen Biechen swung his sword without hesitation. Boundless, terrifying sword qi descended, bringing with it the Mountains and Rivers Sword Diagram.
Su Yi made no attempt to dodge, nor did he try to block.
The slash fell with a blast of sword qi, and the Mountains and Rivers Sword Diagram split.
Su Yi, however, just stood there without so much as a hair out of place.
His brow furrowed in thought, as if he were sampling the power of this strike. In the end, he shook his head again. “You’re still too weak.”
Wen Biechen finally looked stricken. He could no longer keep his cool.
But before he could do anything, Su Yi raised his hand and drew it through the air, as if swatting a fly.
Wen Biechen flew backward, swatted over the horizon. The Golden Halo Dragon Formation scattered sparks, and a rain of golden light came pouring down.
