Chapter 448: Class Evolution Ticket, Seed From Hell
“A Class Evolution Ticket is something that can evolve your Class to a higher rank. It’s rarer than a Bloodline Evolution Potion, but not as rare as a Talent Upgrade Ticket,” Avery answered.
Selene’s eyes lit up.
“What rank will my new Class be?” she asked, unable to hide her excitement. A small smile formed on her face as she held the ticket carefully, as if afraid it might vanish.
“This is an S-rank Ticket,” Avery continued. “So your Class will be at least S-rank. Of course, it can be of higher rank too, but we will only know after you use the Ticket. The Class Evolution takes time though. I would recommend using Bloodline Evolution first, since it’s rumored that having a better foundation will give you a better Class.”
“Okay. I’ll undergo the Bloodline Evolution first. But before that I need to go and meet father. He must be worried about me.” Selene answered.
“I’ll come with you. I also have something to talk to uncle about,” Alice said.
Isaac raised a brow slightly. He wondered what Alice wanted to discuss, but he didn’t ask. She rarely hid things that mattered, and if it was important, she would tell him herself. There was no point pushing.
Selene then reached into the box again and took out the final item. It was a silver pendant. The surface looked cracked, like a broken moon frozen in metal.
“This is Shattered Moon Dimension. I… think we can enter this like the Soulbind Pendant,” Selene said, examining it carefully.
“Let’s check,” Isaac replied.
Selene moved the pendant toward him. Isaac grabbed it, and their hands touched for a brief moment. Selene flinched slightly. Her fingers stiffened, but she didn’t pull her hand away.
Isaac remained calm and willed himself inside.
The world shifted.
When he opened his eyes, he stood on a land covered in grey sand. Craters dotted the ground, and above him stretched a dark sky filled with countless stars. The entire place looked like the moon’s surface. The only difference was the life. Patches of grass spread across the terrain, and white glowing flowers swayed gently despite the lack of wind.
It was strangely peaceful.
Isaac inhaled subconsciously and paused. There were no trees nearby, yet he could breathe normally. The air felt thin, but comfortable.
He began walking forward, checking the size of the space. The ground was slightly uneven, with shallow craters and low ridges. The glowing flowers illuminated the land softly, giving the area a faint silver glow.
A moment later, Alice, Selene, and Avery appeared nearby.
’Avery is here too? I guess she is interested in the Elemental Spirit Selene has formed a contract with,’ Isaac thought as he walked toward them.
“It’s a big place with nice view. I can use it as a storehouse… or hmm, a special resort location would be better,” Selene muttered, looking around.
Alice and Isaac both turned toward her with identical expressions. How come the first thing she thought about was earning more money?
“W-what? Why are you two looking at me like that?” Selene asked, suddenly embarrassed.
“…It’s nothing,” Alice said, surprisingly choosing tact instead of blunt response, likely because the receiver was her sister. She then turned to Avery. “Can we combine this with the Soulbind Pendant?”
“I don’t know,” Avery replied.
“Is this the same place as the Soulbind Pendant?” Selene asked, now curious.
“No,” Avery shook her head. “The Soulbind Pendant is special. It’s a shattered God Domain. One of a powerful god at that, though I don’t know which god. It’s because it’s so special that it allows you all to bring more participants into a Trial, something that normally shouldn’t be allowed.”
She looked around the silver land.
“As for combining… you’ll have to look around and search for items. Who knows? Maybe it will upgrade and repair the Soulbind Pendant if it’s combined with the Shattered Moon Dimension.”
“That sounds complicated,” Selene muttered.
“We’ll just keep it in mind. If we find anything, we test it.” Alice added.
After checking the place for a while, everyone exited the pendant.
Selene stretched slightly. “Alright. I’ll go meet father now.”
“I’m coming too,” Alice said.
The two left the room together.
Isaac remained behind. He created several clones. Some were sent to handle summoning at the altar, another to Emily’s city, and one to handle routine matters. Then he had a clone hold the Soulbind Pendant while he himself entered the Cradle to check what he had brought back.
The moment he appeared inside, his eyes moved toward the center.
The Tree of Harmony still stood tall.
“It’s still here. Nice,” Isaac said, as he exhaled softly.
He quickly checked the rest of the area. His other seeds were still there. The soil remained fertile, and the growth rate inside the Cradle had not changed.
“The seeds are all here. The livestocks are here too… but only the young ones,” he muttered.
He looked around more carefully.
“The older ones are gone. That’s fine, I guess. If I manage them carefully, I can breed them and increase their numbers.”
He had brought a large number of herbal flowers and grass. Some helped with skin conditions. Some aided digestion. Others improved sleep. There were plants useful for treating diseases and injuries. He even brought decorative flowers and air-purifying plants.
These were simple plants, but they would enrich the ecosystem of his city tremendously. Since they were not mana-intensive, even normal people could grow them.
Then there were the rare seeds.
Some would grow into mana-boosting flowers. Others would provide rare alchemy materials. Isaac planned to send these materials to the Crawling Serpent Tribe and have them produce potions.
The livestocks were also precious. They could lead to growth of poultry industry by leaps and bound. Isaac was probably the only one with these livestocks, so he could have a market monopoly when dealing with other cities.
“Then I have this,” Isaac said, looking at two black seeds in his hand.
They were Seeds of Abyss.
The Tree of Abyss was a special tree allowed only to be grown in the gardens of Kings of Hell. Isaac had acquired them through negotiations done by the Sword Empress in the Trial. He was originally supposed to safeguard them, but after the expedition failed, they ended up in his possession.
“Huh?”
Isaac froze.
“…What was the name of the Saint we met?” he muttered.
His expression changed.
He couldn’t remember.
He tried again. The faces. The names. The kingdoms.
Everything was blank.
To be precise, he remembered meeting people, but their names and appearances were gone. Geography, political structures, rulers, everything was erased. The only person he still remembered clearly was the Sword Empress, likely because he already knew her in the present.
“So this is the price of bringing seeds and livestock. I knew it. System wouldn’t let us take advantage of it so easily,” Isaac whispered.
The System had removed the information he wasn’t supposed to retain.
He thought about it quietly.
He didn’t feel regret.
Most of those people were already dead. Their kingdoms no longer existed. The information had value, but not enough to outweigh what he gained.
The seeds and livestocks were tangible. They could strengthen his city immediately.
“Besides, I still remember people I already know. That means….”
That meant Avery would remember most of the people in Trial, since she knew them in present or had information about them.
If Isaac needed anything, he could ask her.
Isaac relaxed and planted one of the Seeds of Abyss a fair distance from the Tree of Harmony.
Then he activated his skill.
Seed of Providence.
The soil trembled.
The seed sprouted instantly. Dark roots spread outward. A black trunk surged upward, growing rapidly. Within seconds, a towering tree formed. Its bark was deep black, and faint crimson veins pulsed beneath the surface. The leaves were dark and glossy, emitting a faint aura.
The air around the tree grew heavier.
Seed of Providence has reached Level 6 → Level 7.
Isaac looked up.
The Tree of Abyss generated Hell’s energy. It allowed Devils to grow stronger faster. It nourished their bodies and enhanced their affinity with Dark energy. It functioned similarly to mana, but better suited for Devils. It allowed them to cast skills and Arts more efficiently.
The fruits of the tree could even strengthen Devil bloodlines.
Isaac noticed three dark fruits hanging from a branch.
Wings erupted from his back. He flew upward and plucked them carefully. The fruits felt heavy, filled with dense energy.
“I should take these to Celia,” he muttered.
He exited the Soulbind Pendant and began flying toward the concert hall.
Celia was practicing for a huge concert scheduled in two days. The entire hall had been reserved, and preparations were ongoing. Isaac thought he could rest there briefly and give her the fruits. Now that Isaac had started trade with other cities, a concert this big would probably lead to Celia’s popularity exploding and reaching other Lord Cities.
As he flew, the wind brushed against his face.
Then a strange feeling appeared.
He slowed slightly.
“…Why do I feel like I’m forgetting something?”
