Sylas stood in silence as the Monkey King slowly vanished. The throne had been pissing Sylas off since it appeared. There was little he hated more than being looked down on by someone who thought they could control every aspect of his life.
However, as quickly as the Monkey King of the past was fading, the gazes of both the version in the past and the projection to the future were locked onto Sylas.
They seemed to both have the very same intention and understanding.
This was not over. They wouldn’t allow it to be over so easily.
The image of the throne was shredded to pieces as the Monkey King was forced to stand to meet something.
As for the Monkey King of the future, he just stood there, unable to move a single inch. However, he was beginning to slowly vanish, the connection to the past growing weaker and weaker.
Ignoring the notifications about his Level Ups, Sylas walked forward as Aether poured into him until he stood face to face with the Monkey King.
Even with Sylas’ height, the Monkey King towered over him. It was quite interesting. The legends on Earth claimed this man was quite short.
But regardless of his height, Sylas hardly cared. He could have been as tall as a mountain and the end result would have been the same.
Sylas raised a finger and pressed it forward.
The Monkey King could only watch as the Grimblade shook the world.
Sylas’ finger was wrapped in a shocking, pulsing wave of echoing blades.
He was no Sword Aura master. He didn’t even want to be.
Specializing his Will down a singular path wouldn’t work for him. If anything, it would weaken his Rune Mastery severely, and all the effort he had put into his Archon Casting would end up harming him.
No, this aura of a blade that seemed capable of severing everything it came into contact with didn’t originate from a sword. It originated from the depths of Sylas’ bloodline.
A bloodline he had forged with his very own Will.
“You should be grateful,” Sylas said calmly. “This way, maybe a part of you will actually reach the peak.”
The Monkey King shouldn’t have been able to move at all at this point. Yet, his projection still used a great deal of strength to grin, his canines radiating menace.
“I will remember you, Sylas Grimblade.”
“So will many others.”
PUCHI.
Sylas’ blade-finger pierced through the Monkey King’s forehead, the echoes of the Death Seal pulsing on the other side.
In an instant, the Monkey King was swallowed whole, large amounts of his Will being shredded and devoured by Sylas.

A large amount of power flooded out of Sylas, his body rapidly healing as the cancerous energy that had prevented him from doing so was quickly expunged.
Before the power of the Monkey King, what was the aura of a mere Mortal Progenitor worth? What Maldrith had left in his body was torn away until nothing at all remained. In fact, even it was devoured in part until Sylas was practically radiating light.
As his muscle, sinew, and flesh formed over the bone that was left of his arm, the healing wove itself through in thin, laser-like lines of gold. But before it swallowed up his arm completely, one could see that even his bone itself was evolving.
‘Not quite. But right there,’ Sylas thought to himself.
This body… it was worthy of Demi-God status. All he lacked was the aura, a nudge of acknowledgment from the universe itself.
Sylas could have it whenever he wanted. But now wasn’t the time. Not just yet.
And… he didn’t need it right now. Not yet.
Instead, his mind was on other things as his Monkey King Armor formed and then collapsed, then formed once
more.
His Pride Seed had shattered during the battle, but it wasn’t gone. It had fused into his body, weaving through the layers of his being and sinking down into his very Potential itself.
When clashing with an existence like the Monkey King, it was forced to either be destroyed or evolve.
The end result of that was hinged on the outcome of the battle. Was Sylas correct that he could claw his way through any challenge? Or was the Monkey King correct?
The irony of the battle was that it had ended without any true victor… at least not in terms of an answer to that question.
Sylas had proven himself correct. He had won this battle in essence by dominating the Dungeon.
However, was the Monkey King proven incorrect? Not necessarily. His Pride allowed him to take a step back when the situation called for it, and Sylas had truly caught him off guard.
This didn’t matter to Sylas’ Pride Seed, though. He had affirmed his Pride and proven himself correct, at least to himself.
And as a result… he was rewarded for it.
[Title Upgraded]
[An Infinite Will > An Infinite Will]
[A Will Infinite in Essence]
It was a status screen as confusing as it was difficult to understand. Its description was but a single five-word sentence that had none of the elaborate embellishments of the others, almost as though to prove that the system was helpless in perfectly deciphering Will, as Sylas had deduced long ago.
But Sylas knew the truth.
He had just progressed from Fragmented Infinite Will to False Infinite Will.
A pulse radiated from Sylas as his Monkey King Armor formed again, and then cracked, before forming again.
Sylas’ gaze landed on the staff still in his hand.
