Genetic Ascension - Chapter 1916 Forward

Chapter 1916: Forward
The Hibernation Realm of Sylas’ Vipermancy Profession was orbiting the Beast Heaven randomly-this much was true. However, it was orbiting in very specific areas nonetheless.
It wasn’t a coincidence that it had been in Azurex territory before. As a Profession tailored to Serpentes, it only orbited in Serpentes territory.
So, if Sylas appeared in the belly of a creature… it wasn’t a surprise that this would be the belly of an Ancient Serpentes.
This was likely a good part of the reason Sylas had figured out what was going on. His intuition toward an S-tier was certainly vague-especially so if that S-tier was a God. However, the vague inklings he got allowed him to use his own personal knowledge to piece together the reality he was in right now.
It also helped him deduce certain things about the S-tier’s current state.
After he came up with the list of possibilities, he realized that his mind was subtly nudging him in certain directions. That was why he was so sure that the S-tier was in a deep sleep right now. And when he found the pit he was looking for, he realized exactly why that was.
‘This S-tier fought a huge battle it won. It ended up injured in one part, but this injury wasn’t enough to kill it. It has already healed back to 100%. The real reason it’s still hibernating is because the enemy it defeated is still being digested by it. Is this… a World Serpent?’
Sylas’ heart skipped a beat.
Swallowing things and digesting their hidden meanings, taking their hidden strength… those were the abilities of a World Serpent.
More important than that, only a World Serpent would be so large.
But what creature would possibly be so powerful that a World Serpent would be pushed so far and still take so much time to digest on top of that?
Sylas had fought a child of a World Serpent before. Despite just being a clone and being stripped of so many of its abilities-not to mention weakened to Mortal levels-that had still been one of the most difficult battles he had ever faced.
As vague as the feeling he was getting from the S-tier was, the creature that was long dead would be even harder for him to get any information from… If it was still in one piece, that is.
Except it wasn’t.
Sylas’ eyes narrowed. ‘Hydra…?’
The vague image of a creature with an uncountable number of heads appeared in Sylas’ mind, but he shook his head, his eyes squinting under the strain.
Hydras weren’t Serpentes. They were from another Gene pool that experienced signs of convergent evolution.
However… just because the Hibernation Realm orbited around places where Serpentes were didn’t mean that Serpentes were bound to continually be around other Serpentes.
In fact, the idea that a Serpentes would have a conflict with a Hydra made perfect sense considering how huge the taboo of Convergent Evolution was.
And unlike the fake Hydras that were the Boros Clan of the Mortal Realm, this would have been the perfect fusion of Ouro and Boros-an Ancient Hydra that embodied infinity with its uncountable number of heads.
Unfortunately, no matter how powerful this Hydra was, it was no Serpentes.
A bit of disappointment welled up in Sylas’ heart.
His plan had been quite simple-at least to him.
If he could manage to take advantage of the S-tier Serpentes’ digestion, he could find the Genes and parts that made up the creature it ate.
Then he could use a combination of his Infinite Void Mastery and his Vipermancy Profession to reconstruct a body.
Once he succeeded in doing that, he could return to the Mancy Scape.
Sylas had no ability to create life. That was far beyond him. He could only reconstruct a body that would be little more useful to him than a corpse.
However…
The Mancy Scape just so happened to be a space filled with Serpentes Constructs just waiting to be used.
If he managed to find a construct worthy of the body, or at least compatible, then he would have gotten himself another Contract with True God Beast potential-not just that vapid, worthless title the Emperor Sanctum wanted to give to people who couldn’t even really count as true geniuses.
However, if it was a Hydra, then all of this was for naught.
As similar to a Serpentes as a Hydra was, it wasn’t one.
There was definitely no getting anything from this S-tier. This creature was powerful enough to kill the Hydra and win the battle, so it might very well be even better.
However, the only reason Sylas had a chance to learn from the Hydra in the first place was because its body was decomposing. The complex Runes and Genes that had once formed it had degraded from what was presumably the S-tier all the way down to the E-tier and even lower in some aspects.
That was to say that the S-tier was already almost finished digesting it, and Sylas wouldn’t be surprised if it woke up soon.
Learning directly from the body of the S-tier beast would be a death sentence. Plus, he wouldn’t be able to get a full picture until he traveled through its entire body. Considering it was probably as big as, if not bigger than, a star -and Sylas couldn’t use his spatial abilities directly without fear of it waking up sooner-it was a foolish pipe dream to even think of it.
Sylas’ eyes narrowed, his mind churning.
The best option for now seemed to be to leave, wait for the Hibernation Realm to enter a new location in its orbit, and then try again.
However, that came with its own risks. What were the odds Sylas wouldn’t have to face or fight a True God Serpentes on the next go around?
Despite his current situation, this could actually be considered quite lucky.
Sylas’ mind churned. Then, he built a decision.
“This wouldn’t be the first time I made a Serpentes out of a non-Serpentes.”
He took a step forward.
