Chapter 1932: Wasting Time (2) [Bonus]

Sylas had thought of a potential answer for this as well.
Use the system to cheat.
His eyes darted around endlessly, scanning the surrounding creatures one by one even as more and more of them teleported in.
Then he finally landed on one of them.
It was almost amusing, and also something no one would ever think, but he grasped it the moment he saw the small little creature.
“You.”
A beam of red instantly appeared before Sylas. It landed in his palm then blurred, moving around his fingers and wrist so fast it looked like silky ribbons of crimson streaking around his limb.
The Ruby Finger Serpent.
It didn’t make sense to choose this creature. Its most important feature was its Speed, and every other aspect of it was quite weak. It was maybe the strongest assassination-type Serpentes you could contract beneath the truly godly levels. But other than that, it couldn’t have been further from the Hydra.
The Hydra was a large, imposing creature. In fact, even without understanding much of the history between the World Serpent and the Hydra, Sylas could imagine why they fought.
Why would you not want to dominate the title of largest creature there was?
The Hydra had a seemingly infinite number of heads, and the World Serpent was so large it could curl its body around galaxies. Even if they weren’t originally enemies, the system liked to pit like kinds against one another to force evolution.
What would happen if a World Serpent could successfully integrate the abilities of a Hydra? What sort of super creature could be formed?
Compared to those large, imposing creatures, it was almost a joke to choose the Ruby Finger Serpentes.
Yet, that was exactly what Sylas did.
“Devour.” Sylas said calmly.
The Ruby Finger Serpent suddenly stopped moving, standing at attention in Sylas’ palm. Then, it shot out.
The first Serpentes it met didn’t even resist. Under Sylas’ command, how could they dare to resist in the first place?
The F-tier Ruby Finger Serpent ripped through the construct’s head and it shattered apart.
Under Sylas’ suppression, their stats might as well have been 0. The Ruby Finger Serpent met no resistance at all, let alone the fact it was already amongst the most dangerous creatures here in the first place.
Zipping around, one after another, the Ruby Finger Serpent insatiably devoured everything in its path, its soul construct bulging almost to the point of explosion.
It peered quite clear that if this continued, the Ruby Finger Serpent wouldn’t be able to keep up with the digestion and would eventually kill itself, a true shameful display of the Sin of Gluttony.
Yet, it was bound to follow Sylas’ orders. It didn’t resist in the slightest, eating, and eating, and eating. It swallowed one Will after another, devouring the cores of every construct it rammed right through the forehead of.
“What the hell are you doing? That little thing is about to die.”
Compared to the number of Serpentes here, the Ruby Finger Serpent had barely put a dent.
Sylas had easily summoned hundreds of thousands, but it had barely made its way through a hundred or so.
‘It’s about to break through into the E-tier…’ Sylas thought to himself, once again ignoring the Hydra.
That was a problem. The only Hydra body that Sylas could construct right now was an F-tier one. If the Ruby Finger Serpent reached the E-tier, it would destroy the body Sylas created.
However, it seemed clear that even before it reached the E-tier, it would explode. Yet Sylas didn’t seem intent on doing anything about that.
The Ruby Finger Serpent was quickly slowing down. Its little belly bulged, but it was far from as cute as this description made it sound.
If the construct had had any blood, its scales would be bursting and bleeding at the seams, its eyes would be bulging to the point of falling out of their sockets, and there just might be projectiles of shit coming out of both ends of it.
It was far from a pretty sight.
Sylas took a breath and exhaled.
Fusion.
The Ruby Finger Serpent was snapped out of phase. Ripped out from its rampage, it slammed into Sylas’ body. But in the instant before it fused with Sylas, it seemed to return to normal.
Sylas’ body didn’t change at all. The Ruby Finger Serpent had no physical form, so it couldn’t change Sylas at all. But what it could do was fuse with Sylas’ Will.
In that moment, the bulging Wills in the Ruby Finger Serpent’s body were overwhelmed by Sylas’ own, and then the Grimblade Lineage revved up, swallowing and compressing them all.
The moment he was finished, Sylas ended his fusion and ejected the Ruby Finger Serpent.
Without missing a beat, and shining brighter than even before, the Ruby Finger Serpent continued its killing spree.
It was a complete and utter slaughter. Maybe someone other than Sylas would consider the implications of such an outright genocide, but Sylas didn’t even care to think of it.
He was obviously smart enough to realize what he was doing… he simply didn’t care.
Sharp and unbothered, Sylas did it again, and then again, and then again after that. Every time the Ruby Finger Serpent seemed on the verge of explosion, Sylas suppressed it and compressed it, forcefully turning the potential that would have otherwise elevated the Ruby Finger Serpent to the E-tier into a pure potential that improved its Will continuously and relentlessly.
As the number of F-tier Serpentes began to drop and dwindle, Sylas’ eyes also grew sharper.
His time was coming.
When he said he planned to cheat using the system, he actually meant that he planned to cheat and use a pair of systems. Both the Heaven System and the Legendary System.
To do the former, he had a clear path ahead.
The Emperor Armor.
What better way to use the system to cheat than to force the system to give the Hydra body a Serpentes-related Gene.
But Sylas could have done that himself if he really wanted. After all, he could draw Genes. The most valuable part was that, once again… the Emperor Sanctum was no organization of Rune Masters. It was an organization of Will
Masters.
Meaning… if Sylas forced the Ruby Finger Serpent to forge its own Serpentes Armor under his guidance, its very Will itself would undergo a drastic change.
And that left how he planned to make use of the Legendary System…
