- Chapter 806 - 806: Leaving The Elven Continent

“What happened? Did you encounter any setbacks?” Noah finally broke the silence.
Wuhan shook off the tension lingering in his body and replied, “Nothing, just met a crazy woman.”
Captain Black Sword also nodded frantically behind him while the others appeared a bit embarrassed.
“I will prepare for us to depart; you should all prepare yourselves. Heal up, change, and then help the rest.”
Saying this, Noah turned to walk towards the entrance of the cave where they all were standing.
Arriving on the edge, he finally saw it. The towering tree spiraling into the heavens, but now it looks nothing like its old grand visage.
“So you really did it?”
Noah looked over his shoulder and saw the elven queen looking down with sadness and wariness in her eyes. Right before her eyes, the world tree, the one she had worshiped ever since she had gained sentience, was being burned up in flames.
The roots of the tree were a blend of wood and fire; the crimson veins on it writhed, moving around on the bark, but the flames consumed it all equally.
“It will not take long before it is completely gone; there will be no speck of this world tree left anymore.”
The queen shut her eyes; his words struck her so deep that tears of blood came out of her eyes.
When she slowly opened her eyes, they were hardened with resolve and bloodshot from the pain. The pain of everything she had in this place—her husband, her people, the Empire, and…
Her daughter.
“Why do you still have the mark?” She finally turned to look at Noah, confused.
Instead of replying, Noah turned around to walk back inside. “There are a lot of things to do. You should move away from the exit; I am about to close it up.”
The queen followed his words with a dazed look in her eyes; she moved before she even realized what she had done. Once she was already in, Noah waved his hand, and the stones around the entrance of the cave seemingly came to life. They expanded and contracted before closing the hole up entirely.
The wall of stones was so thick that no one could tell from one glance if there was even a way beyond it.
Even as the cave had closed up, the light inside had not dimmed.
‘Without the world tree, there is no world. The same can be said for the other way around.’
Under the charred roots of the world tree, the burning leaves and branches fell from the sky, slamming into the ground.
Deep below the soil that surrounded the ashes of the previous live roots of the tree and even deeper underneath the bedrock of the world itself.
In a separate space where there was no molten lava but a deep mass of energy, an energy so immense that not even all of the cultivators from the world combined could match it.
Within this green mass of energy, a faint silhouette could be seen curled up in a fetal position.
This figure belonged to a woman who looked exactly like Elysia; instead, her body seemed to be merged with the energy itself.
Elysia did not seem to be alone in this space; she had her arms wrapped around something. Compared to the size of her massive figure, the thing no longer looked bigger than a speck of dirt, but if someone looked closely, they would realize that it was a seed.
A frail seed that appeared similar to an apricot’s seed. Thick and shriveled at the same time. Covered in a lot of veins, appearing as if it lacked nutrition.
But if one looked even more closely, they would see that the seed was also absorbing energy from around it, energy that belonged to Elysia. It was not much, but only a wisp of it every now and then.
As soon as it absorbed the energy, it would release a green hum and send another type of energy back to Elysia. The energy slowly made the red veins on her body burn away into dust before the process kept on repeating.
…
In the middle of the closed cave, Noah rechecked the work he had done on the place. The seals came to life, shimmering with several sigils.
“Are you sure they won’t find this place?” Wuhan asked, already dressed in a fresh pair of imperial robes, exuding a powerful presence worthy of an emperor.
“I created this cave myself, so they don’t know it exists. I just opened a back room channel to access their arrays and use them for ourselves.” Noah explained his work in the simplest words possible: “Think of it like stealing someone’s cable.”
But his words only ended up making the emperor more confused: “What is a cable?”
“Sigh, never mind.” Shaking his hand, the black-haired man made it all disappear.
“I still have not asked your name. I am the emperor of the Feng Empire.” Wuhan noticed the queen approaching and greeted her with a smile.
The woman nodded and replied, “I am Eva, the former elven queen.”
There was no hesitation or sorrow in her voice, as if she had come to terms with her situation, but the others from her race did not seem to follow the same intent.
“No, your majesty. You will always be our queen.”
“You all—” Eva was shocked by their statement and also somewhat emotional. She had thought that after what her daughter did, there was no way they would ever forgive her, but now seeing their enthusiasm, she felt heavy in her heart.
“Ok, enough tears for the day. I really wish I could see it, but I don’t want to. I have two very beautiful ladies waiting for me, and I am also eager to get back. So…” Noah waved his hand, and everyone in the cave gathered around him. A huge complex array appeared under their feet before everyone was enveloped by a blinding light.
“Time to go home.”
