Getting a Technology System in Modern Day - Chapter 1029: Falling like Dominos IV

Chapter 1029: Falling like Dominos IV
The number of ships the empire sent to a star system was proportional to the level of threat assigned to that specific star system, based on all the information gathered from surrendered or conquered civilizations. Through this method, some star systems had only mini-fleets sent in their direction, while in star systems like the capital of the Trinarians. masters of spatial warfare, more than a hundred thousand wormholes were opened in different areas, showing the level of threat the empire considered them to be.
FWOOOOM CRACKLE!!! GWAAAAAODHJK!!!!!
As if to respond to the respect the empire showed them, and despite the Zelvora forces stationed beforehand having already made their attacks to deal as much damage as possible, the wormholes and the ships that came through them were not met with the same situation as many of the other imperial mini-fleets. In other systems, nearly none of the stationed forces were able to fight back.
Here, more than half of the wormholes collapsed in different ways. Some collapsed the moment they opened, resulting in the ship passing through being cleaved in two. Others failed to fully open due to the surrounding space being unstable. On the other hand, some had their starting coordinates forcefully changed and scrambled before they exploded as they lost their connection to the main anchor that provided them with mana, causing the star system to be in complete chaos.
However, it didn’t seem like the chaos was out of the norm, as the atmosphere, even before the wormholes opened, was already that of controlled chaos.
As the capital of the Trinarians, it had been specifically chosen for its abundance of spatial mana. This allowed for any spatial ability used within this environment to have atmospheric amplifications, also making it the perfect defensive ground for those who had an affinity for space. Using this abundance of spatial mana to their advantage, they had deliberately started spatial storms that they left to go rogue, acting as a natural defense. In their nature, these spatial storms kept teleporting to different parts of the star system, causing havoc to any unprotected parts while maintaining full unpredictability for the duration of their existence. They would continue to do so until they ran out of mana or teleported into an area devoid of spatial mana to energize them for their next teleportation.
It was a very drastic decision, since once the storms went rogue, they became very difficult to stop. But that same characteristic made them very powerful defensive weapons. Knowing that the empire was the most urgent problem, they knew it was a risk worth taking.
The AI controlling the ships that went through the wormholes safely immediately made adjustments in real-time. They all acted in unison, gathering a large amount of data and sharing it with one another to aid the algorithm in order to come up with a prediction algorithm of where the spatial storms were going to appear next so they could avoid them. Even with the empire’s tech, these spatial storms were very difficult to stop in their current combat configuration. Unless the emperor himself acted, it was impossible to fully stop them. The only thing the AI could currently do was make sure at least a few ships reached the capital planet to allow soldiers to finally make a successful landing operation.
While that was happening, the Zelvora forces stationed on this planet were still doing their best to buy time for the empire.
……………………..
In one of the sectors, a powerful Zelvora could be seen constantly and rapidly moving his body through telekinesis, avoiding the spatial tears that were constantly appearing in areas he had just previously been.
While he was constantly moving to avoid the spatial tears, his mental field was expanded to its limit, gathering every bit of information within it, trying to sense every tiny bit of change to see where the next spatial tear was coming from.
“You can’t run from me forever, and you know that, so why are you making it difficult for both of us? In this star system, I have the environmental advantage,” the Trinarian who was teleporting after him while at the same time causing spatial tears at the Zelvora soldier shouted in anger, not caring about the blood that was trickling from his nose.
The Zelvora soldier was too occupied to even bother responding or trying to buy himself some time, as he knew it was useless to waste his energy talking and explaining his situation.
“Traitors! I’m going to deal with you and go to your capital planet and start a spatial storm at the planet’s core,” the Trinarian said, coming to a stop. He closed his eyes and raised his right hand, pointing in many places. With each direction he pointed, a wormhole opened, and from the other side came another Trinarian. Repeating the same process ten times brought a total of ten Trinarians as backup.
The Zelvora sensed and saw everything amidst his flight, as everything that was happening was within his mental field. He immediately realized they were most likely going to deal with him fast and move on to something else.
He and many other Zelvora who were still alive in this star system knew that they needed to do their very best to buy as much time for the empire. Since the moment their leader surrendered, they had to make sure the empire won this fight no matter what, because the moment they failed, their entire civilization would be jointly attacked and sent into extinction by the remaining civilizations, who would truly unite to make it happen.
“I pray that the empire succeeds,” the Zelvora said before closing his eyes and deciding to blow his mental network. With his level of power, he knew the explosion was going to be large enough to kill everyone present.
“BE CAREFUL!” the Trinarian who had called everyone shouted the moment he sensed something was amiss. Just as he was about to teleport to escape, he finally realized the area they were in had one of the spatial shield generators that protected their capital planet from the untamable spatial storms. If he left and the explosion destroyed it, it would create an opening in the spatial shield and allow both the spatial storms and the imperial fleets to gain an opening to enter the planet. “STOP IT, EVEN IF YOU DIE!” he shouted, immediately changing his mind, as the generator was more important than their lives.
“YES!” the rest of the Trinarians shouted in unison, understanding his intentions. They immediately got to work, and in a matter of less than a second, spatial tears appeared around the Zelvora who had just started exploding, with the majority of them spreading in front of where the generator was moments before the explosion happened.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!
They held for as long as possible by standing behind one of the spatial tears, which absorbed the explosion, but its strength was more than they had estimated. By the time it fully dissipated, five of the Trinarians present had perished, but the remaining ones felt nothing but relief since they had successfully managed to protect the generator.
“FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!” one of them shouted, realizing that the traitorous Zelvora were going to do their very best, with their lives on the line, to make sure an opening was going to be made. He immediately tried to relay the information to others, only to fail, realizing that their communications network was down.
