Chapter 745: Chapter 360 The Benefits of Being Unbeatable! (Two in One)_1
“Cost? What do you want?” Chen Mo asked, looking at the Aquatic Clan member before him.
The Aquatic Clan member laughed and said, “It’s simply a trade. We need to refine a secret treasure recently and require the aid of the Eternal Divine Fire. We of the Aquatic Clan don’t particularly care to roam on land. If it’s convenient for you, you can bring it back to trade with us.”
At this point, Evia, who was not far behind Chen Mo, looked at the expansive ice lake around them and said, “This lake is so vast! Does it all belong to you? We could simply break off a piece, and you wouldn’t be able to stop us, right?”
At her words, the Aquatic Clan member immediately laughed and said, “Of course, you can break off any ice and take it away. But taking the Eternal Divine Water isn’t that simple. If you don’t believe me, you can try it yourself.”
Finishing his sentence, the Aquatic Clan member made a ’please proceed’ gesture.
Evia, unwilling to accept defeat, immediately split open a slit in her abdomen, from which a worker ant emerged. She ordered it to begin carving and transporting the ice from the frozen surface of the Eternal Divine Water.
Seeing this, Chen Mo didn’t hurry to stop Evia.
The worker ant, true to its purpose, moved with extreme efficiency. Its sharp forelegs, like twin drills, quickly bored out numerous chunks of the frozen Eternal Divine Water.
But when the worker ant took out a small ladle made of insect shell from its pack to collect the water, it discovered that the collected water instantly transformed into ordinary water.
The Aquatic Clan member, witnessing this, immediately chuckled and said, “How about that?”
Evia was bewildered. “What’s happening?”
“Eternal Divine Water cannot be taken away so easily,” the Aquatic Clan member explained. “It requires a special container for storage, and only we, the Aquatic Clan, can manufacture such containers. Furthermore, we strictly control their production.”
At this, Evia finally resigned herself to the fact.
Chen Mo, however, just smiled nonchalantly. “Since the Eternal Divine Water is inconvenient to take for now, I’ll go find the Eternal Divine Fire first. I happen to need that as well, so it’s on the way.”
Hearing Chen Mo’s words, the Aquatic Clan member smiled and said, “That would be best.”
If he had simply asked someone to bring back a rare material for free, that person might look for other ways to obtain the Eternal Divine Water. But since Chen Mo also needed the Eternal Divine Fire and was going that way anyway, he would very likely bring back the Eternal Divine Fire for them. Naturally, the Aquatic Clan member was pleased.
After Evia recalled her bewildered worker ant, Chen Mo used Divine Flicker to instantly transport himself to the next location.
The place where the Eternal Divine Fire was located was also exceedingly dangerous.
This was a volcanic region of extreme temperatures.
The volcano wasn’t filled with magma, but with the terrifyingly potent Eternal Divine Fire.
The entire volcanic interior was saturated with this substance.
Surrounding the volcano lived numerous fire-type monsters.
Among them, the most formidable were undoubtedly the overlords: a Fire Dragon and a Fire Phoenix.
The moment Chen Mo flickered to the area, he immediately sensed two powerful auras emanating from the volcano’s summit.
They were in a state of evenly matched power.
With his Eye of Origin activated, he quickly discerned the sources of the two auras on the mountaintop.
The volcano’s summit was divided into two distinct territories: the Fire Phoenix’s nest and the Fire Dragon’s lair.
The Fire Phoenix’s nest, constructed from fire-attribute branches, sat at the volcano’s apex. Swirling flames filled it, blazing brightly and emitting a red glow, making it resemble a tower of fire. The temperature within was extreme; flames danced, creating a scorching environment where the Fire Phoenix slept soundly at its center.
It was a magnificent bird enveloped in raging red flames. Its plumage was a burning red, shimmering with bright fire. Each feather, broad and powerful, had dancing flames erupting from between them, creating a stunning, fiery spectacle. Though its eyes were closed, its eyelids were so thin that the flames dancing within its pupils remained visible. Its sharp beak, curved like a sword, emanated a chilling murderous intent. The Fire Phoenix slept peacefully, yet its posture suggested it was ready to confront any potential threat at a moment’s notice.
The Fire Dragon’s lair, built from fire-attribute rubies, was deeply embedded in the rock wall of the volcano’s summit, encircled by Eternal Divine Fire. Its interior was vast, providing ample space for the Fire Dragon to coil up and rest. The rubies within shimmered with a scorching glow, as beautiful as stars in the night sky. Here, in this lair permeated by Eternal Divine Fire, the Fire Dragon lay coiled, silently drifting into a deep slumber.
It was an enormous red dragon, its entire body a deep, blood-red hue, exuding an aura of majesty and oppressive power. Uniform scales, radiating intense heat, spiraled along its body from head to tail. Its claws were strong enough to tear through rock, its tail like an iron whip capable of shattering mountains. Through the Eye of Origin, its pupils could be seen—like fiercely burning flames, betraying its ferocity and cunning. Even in slumber, the Fire Dragon, much like the Fire Phoenix, maintained a vigilant posture, never truly relaxing its guard.
The Fire Phoenix and the Fire Dragon were both formidable fire-attribute creatures. Their respective dwellings radiated an intensely hot aura, creating an evenly matched presence that inspired awe. Ordinary fire-type creatures would likely be incinerated to ash merely by approaching their nests. Only these two could survive in such an environment, even growing stronger within it.
