Chapter 746: Chapter 360 The Benefits of Being Unbeatable! (Two in One)_2
Using the perception ability of the Eye of Origin, Chen Mo saw that these two legendary monsters both had extremely high Divine Power. This exceeded the level ordinary creatures in the first area should possess. The Fire Phoenix’s Divine Power was as high as 2,000 points, and the Fire Dragon was not to be outdone; its Divine Power also reached 2,000 points. This was why they could be evenly matched.
Although their Divine Power was only 2,000 points, their abilities were terrifying. Anyone with Divine Power less than theirs who wanted to challenge them would have to carefully consider their own defensive power first. The two monsters could easily reduce their enemies to ashes with their abilities. Even resurrection wouldn’t be possible afterward.
After Chen Mo arrived, however, he didn’t wake them.
The Eternal Divine Fire, unlike the Eternal Divine Water, could be taken directly. But while the Eternal Divine Water wouldn’t harm people, the Eternal Divine Fire would! One could grab a flame directly, but one must be able to endure the scorching of the Eternal Divine Fire. Otherwise, grabbing the Eternal Divine Fire could result in being burned to ashes.
The Fire Dragon and Fire Phoenix could freely exist within the Eternal Divine Fire despite having only 2,000 Divine Power. This wasn’t attributable to the magnitude of their Divine Power, but rather to their innate, extraordinary fire-based characteristics. Without this innate ability, even someone with Divine Power as high as 10,000 points would find it extremely dangerous to casually touch the Eternal Divine Fire.
Actually, Chen Mo met this condition because his Divine Physique was an extremely powerful constitution, fully capable of withstanding the scorching of the Eternal Divine Fire. However, his Divine Physique was not yet fully activated, so he didn’t dare to rashly touch the Eternal Divine Fire.
Evia, on the other hand, had no such concerns. Having been specially resurrected and enslaved by Chen Mo, she was in a permanently invincible state and could undertake any dangerous task without worry. Unless Evia’s unique traits were completely sealed, she would be fine.
However, the Eternal Divine Fire could not be taken carelessly. Although anyone unafraid of death could attempt to retrieve some, the Eternal Divine Fire exists in two states: Frenzy and stable. Taking it in its Frenzy state would make it very difficult to use for everyday applications. Therefore, even if one wasn’t afraid of death and could withstand its scorching heat, one would still need to acquire the Eternal Divine Fire in its stable state.
If taken in its Frenzy state, once the Eternal Divine Fire left its place of origin, it would absolutely not stabilize. Furthermore, even Eternal Divine Fire in a stable state might suddenly revert to its Frenzy state upon leaving its birthplace. Thus, while retrieving the Eternal Divine Fire might seem straightforward, it is actually a very particular process. The best method to maintain its stability is to place Fire Dragon scales or Fire Phoenix feathers within it.
And right now, with both a Fire Dragon and a Fire Phoenix present, all that was needed was to remove a dragon scale from one or pluck a feather from the other.
Ordinary people wouldn’t dare attempt such a thing. This was because sleeping Fire Phoenixes and Fire Dragons detested being disturbed; waking them would undoubtedly provoke their most ferocious attacks. However, Chen Mo’s Divine Power far surpassed theirs, so he wasn’t afraid of them. But, considering they were currently surrounded by the Eternal Divine Fire, their agitation could incite a large amount of this fire to join the fray. In this ideal environment, their combat strength could not be estimated merely by their Divine Power. Therefore, it was crucial to act quickly and cautiously.
Chen Mo observed the Fire Dragon and the Fire Phoenix, concluding it would be easier to pluck the Fire Phoenix’s feathers than to pry off the Fire Dragon’s scales.
He first instructed Evia to enter the volcano and retrieve a large mass of Eternal Divine Fire. Then, with a Divine Flicker, he suddenly appeared beside the Fire Phoenix. As his Divine Flicker caused space fluctuations, the Fire Phoenix was instantly startled awake. Before it could even open its eyes to see clearly what was happening, it felt a sharp pain on its body. By the time it realized the human before it had plucked its feathers, the human had already vanished.
“SCREECH!!!”
This infuriated the Fire Phoenix to no end; with nowhere to vent its rage, it began to screech incessantly. Its clamor even disturbed its neighbor, preventing any peace. The Fire Dragon, a light sleeper, was instantly jolted awake by the piercing screeches. It was about to erupt in anger, but hearing the sheer, explosive fury in the Fire Phoenix’s screeches, it quickly calmed itself.
What’s wrong with this bird today? Did it eat something bad? Who provoked it to this extent? Such harsh screeches. The Fire Dragon watched the incessantly screeching Fire Phoenix, its mind filled with questions.
Meanwhile, Chen Mo, the culprit who had enraged the Fire Phoenix, had already returned with Evia to the frigid summit of the high mountain.
Upon returning, Chen Mo saw Evia completely enveloped by the Eternal Divine Fire. This Eternal Divine Fire, already active on the volcano’s surface, was inherently in its Frenzy state. Now, having been suddenly removed from its place of origin, it was naturally even more agitated and unstable. Upon encountering a living being, its immediate instinct was to try and incinerate her. Fortunately, Evia was in a permanently invincible state; otherwise, she would have long since been burned to cinders.
“Master, this Eternal Divine Fire is far too violent and terrifying,” Evia said. Although Evia knew the Eternal Divine Fire was formidable, she hadn’t realized it could be *this* volatile and terrifying. She knew very well that without the empowerment from her Master, she couldn’t have survived even a second amidst these flames.
Seeing the extreme agitation of the Eternal Divine Fire, Chen Mo immediately took out a handful of Fire Phoenix feathers. He had initially planned to pluck only two, but with a smooth motion, he had grabbed an entire handful. This was why the Fire Phoenix was so enraged. Chen Mo had plucked it bald in one spot. For a creature as vain as the Fire Phoenix, this was practically equivalent to killing it, hence its immense hatred. Chen Mo now held at least several dozen feathers.
As he tossed the handful of Fire Phoenix feathers to Evia, the Eternal Divine Fire, which had been raging almost uncontrollably, gradually stabilized. It retreated from enveloping Evia’s entire body to merely surrounding the Fire Phoenix feathers she held.
It really worked. The strategy from Moluo’s Brain is indeed reliable.
Seeing the Eternal Divine Fire finally calm, Chen Mo called out to the Aquatic Clan members. Soon, the three Aquatic Clan members from before reappeared on the ice. When they saw the large mass of Eternal Divine Fire in Evia’s hands, their faces filled with disbelief.
“You actually brought back such a large amount of Eternal Divine Fire with your bare hands!”
Especially when they saw that Evia was merely a Bug Clan’s Queen, the Aquatic Clan members found it even more incredible. Although the Bug Clan’s Queen possessed an extraordinary reproductive capacity, producing various insects with formidable combat power and unique traits, the Queen’s own body was supposed to be relatively frail. How could it possibly withstand the scorching heat of the Eternal Divine Fire? This sight completely overturned their understanding of a Bug Clan’s Queen.
Chen Mo smiled and said to them, “I’ve brought back the Eternal Divine Fire. Now, how do you plan to take it?”
“We have a Fire Storage Box,” the leading Aquatic Clan member replied. With a flip of his right hand, a pale red box materialized. He approached Evia and, after murmuring “Collect,” a single Fire Phoenix feather, along with a small wisp of Eternal Divine Fire, was drawn into the Fire Storage Box.
“Do you have more of these boxes?” Chen Mo asked.
“We do, but in exchange, you’ll need to give us another wisp of Eternal Divine Fire,” the Aquatic Clan leader said with a smile.
“I only need to keep a small wisp. If you like, you can have the rest,” Chen Mo said with an indifferent laugh.
“We don’t need that much. But since you’ve said so, I’ll take three wisps then,” the Aquatic Clan member said, smiling. He then produced two more Fire Storage Boxes and collected two more wisps of Eternal Divine Fire. Afterward, he fulfilled his promise, giving Chen Mo a larger Fire Storage Box and a Water Storage Pearl. The pearl was crystal clear, radiating a soft glow, and filled to the brim with Eternal Divine Water.
