Chapter 778: Chapter 377: Illusion Beast (Two in One)_2
In addition to informing Chen Mo about the dangers inside the Grave of Gods, Zhui Yi’s memory brought some good news.
That is, in the short time Zhui Yi had spent inside the Grave of Gods, he encountered a full three Divine Domains.
It’s worth noting that in the outside world, Chen Mo had previously searched for a long time before managing to find even a single Divine Domain.
Besides the Divine Domains, there were also special fruits known as “Divine Bodhi” inside the Grave of Gods.
Divine Bodhi typically grew on the tombs where Gods were buried after their death.
On those blood-red divine trees, as translucent as rubies, individual Divine Bodhi fruits, radiating a faint glow, grew.
Zhui Yi once attempted to pick a Divine Bodhi after he discovered it.
Consuming a Divine Bodhi offers immense benefits for the development of the Divine Domain World within one’s body.
Eating one can greatly accelerate the development of the Divine Domain World within the body.
However, since Zhui Yi is an outer incarnation of Chen Mo, a type of clone, his own advancement is pointless. So, after eating one and learning about the fruit’s effects, he planned to gather some to give to Chen Mo.
The result was unexpected. Less than three seconds after the Divine Bodhi was plucked, it decayed and evaporated into ash.
It’s clear that these things cannot be taken out of the Grave of Gods.
If one wishes to eat them, they must enter the Grave of Gods and consume them there.
This meant that even if people knew of the Divine Bodhi’s excellent effects on developing the Divine Domain World within their bodies, they might not possess enough courage to enter the Grave of Gods to consume it.
Not to mention the destined people, even those natives who dared to enter the Grave of Gods wouldn’t venture into the areas where Divine Bodhi Trees grew.
Because the chances of encountering illusion beasts near Divine Bodhi Trees were far greater than in the treasure-hunting areas they preferred.
For them, the treasures they could find in the treasure-hunting grounds were more useful than the Divine Bodhi.
Faced with higher risk for lower reward versus lower risk for higher reward, anyone would know how to choose.
This is also why there was barely any mention of the Divine Bodhi in the Grave of Gods among the natives.
Chen Mo, upon learning that there were such good things as three Divine Domains and Divine Bodhi inside, was eager to go in and take a look, even knowing there were dangerous illusion beasts in the Grave of Gods.
However, with both him and Zhui Yi going in, it would be much safer than him entering alone.
If Zhui Yi went in alone, there would be no one to protect him. But it was different if Chen Mo went in with Zhui Yi.
Zhui Yi could completely disregard his own safety to protect Chen Mo, even taking hits from illusion beasts in his place.
At the same time, Chen Mo always had Evia, who was in a permanently invincible state, with him.
Using Evia’s permanently invincible state and undead attribute, they might be able to lock all the illusion beasts’ hostility onto her.
After all, according to Zhui Yi’s memory, when illusion beasts encountered Ghosts, they reacted as frantically as a starving man finding food or a desperate lecher seeing a beautiful woman delivered to his door.
This showed that Ghosts held a fatal attraction for them.
Thus, Evia was an excellent unit for attracting hostility.
After all, with her permanently invincible state, she wouldn’t need to worry about being attacked, and naturally, wouldn’t need to worry about death.
However, when he had accepted the task earlier, Chen Mo had also learned that there were numerous constraints within the Grave of Gods; once one entered, invincibility, resurrection, and Immortal Abilities would become null and void.
Nevertheless, Evia was in a permanently invincible state. Based on Chen Mo’s skill description, Evia could still be resurrected even if she was under an Unable-To-Resurrect State.
『Resurrection of the God of Undead · Dazzling Active』: Immediately revive all friendly units that died within a [Level × Star Level × Divine Power]-meter radius around you in the past 24 hours. The resurrection is Above SSS-level. If a target is under a resurrection prohibition, remove the prohibition and resurrect them. Cooldown: 1 hour (not affected by any cooldown reduction).
If resurrecting an enemy unit, only one target can be chosen each time. Regardless of the creature’s level, species, or abilities in life, upon resurrection, it will become your Eternal Servant, possessing all its former abilities. It will also be granted the special skill 『Special Undead』 and enter a permanently invincible state. It will live and perish with you; it will die only if you die. It cannot leave a 100-meter radius of you, nor can it take damage for any other unit. If the target is under a resurrection prohibition, remove the prohibition and resurrect them. Cooldown: 1 hour (not affected by any cooldown reduction). Only one such special unit can exist at a time.
According to the final paragraph of the Resurrection of the God of Undead’s description, even if Evia died while under a resurrection prohibition, the prohibition will still be removed, and she will be resurrected.
So, which rule held higher precedence would only become clear after entering the Grave of Gods.
Zhui Yi still reckoned that Evia’s abilities could be effectively utilized even within the Grave of Gods.
He felt that as long as Chen Mo entered the Grave of Gods with him and Evia, while they might not completely avoid all risks, they could at least mitigate ninety percent of them.
Of course, if Evia’s permanently invincible state could take effect within the Grave of Gods, then it might even be possible to avoid one hundred percent of the risk.
Currently, there were three possible outcomes for Evia upon entering the Grave of Gods.
The first was that both invincibility and resurrection abilities would be effective, which was naturally the best result.
The second was that only invincibility would fail, while the resurrection ability would remain effective. In this scenario, Evia could still achieve an effect close to true invincibility.
The third was that both invincibility and resurrection abilities would be completely ineffective. In that case, Evia would be no different from an ordinary Ghost.
Although Zhui Yi’s memories had already been shared with Chen Mo, Zhui Yi still emphasized some precautions before they headed towards the Grave of Gods together.
As the three of them touched the stone wall and entered the Grave of Gods, Chen Mo sensed that some natives had arrived nearby. It appeared that the Grave of Gods was indeed a popular spot for treasure hunting.
Ignoring the natives, Chen Mo directly led Evia and Zhui Yi through the stone wall.
The moment he crossed the stone wall, he found himself in a world completely unlike the mountains he had seen before.
Chen Mo couldn’t clearly discern the appearance of this world; all he could see were dense layers of gray-white divine fog surrounding him, so thick it seemed almost solid.
As soon as they entered the Grave of Gods, Zhui Yi immediately shielded Chen Mo behind him. He turned to Evia and said, “You go ahead. I’ll stay with Master, ten meters away from you, just where you’re visible.”
Evia, though slightly disgruntled at Zhui Yi’s orders, uttered no complaints, knowing it concerned her master’s safety, and immediately took the lead.
As for Chen Mo, he followed Evia at a steady pace under Zhui Yi’s protection.
Initially, upon entering the Grave of Gods, they encountered no abnormal situations, and the three proceeded relatively smoothly.
After walking some distance, Evia suddenly suggested, “There’s so much fog around here, it’s hard for us to even discern directions. Why don’t I send my children out to expand our exploration range?”
Previously, Zhui Yi had dispatched a large number of Ghosts to scout the path, but once the Ghosts entered the fog, their connection with Zhui Yi would be forcibly severed. Chen Mo had subconsciously overlooked this method.
When Zhui Yi had summoned Ghosts to scout earlier, it was primarily to detect the locations of illusion beasts along the way.
But Evia’s insects were distinctly different from Ghosts.
Evia’s insects seemed to share a hive mind with her; no matter where they were dispersed, as long as they weren’t destroyed, they would relay information back to her.
Based on this, Evia’s insects might indeed be worth a try. Perhaps they could still survey the surroundings clearly even within the fog.
Although Evia had mentioned the difficulty in discerning directions, this wasn’t an issue from Chen Mo’s perspective, as he possessed Zhui Yi’s memories. However, if Evia’s insects could truly act as eyes, spreading throughout the Grave of Gods, that would undoubtedly be far superior and much more reliable than relying on memory alone. Chen Mo immediately nodded in agreement with her proposal.
