By following the route on the map, I arrived at the habitable area. To my surprise, the habitable area was quite different.
I saw many wooden houses in one particular place. This land stretched for half an acre, surrounded by a dark forest.
Instead of entering the wooden house area, I decided to look around. So, I activated the system’s probe function.
I had a feeling that this habitable place was not ordinary.
[Ding! The wooden house is empty!]
A mechanical voice sounded in my mind.
Hearing that, I continued to probe one wooden house after another. After checking all 20 wooden houses, it was confirmed: they were empty.
No one was living here. I was surprised because the habitable area was supposed to be the safest place in the forbidden zone. I didn’t know what made it so dangerous.
Yet, more than 20 houses have been built here. I decided to inspect each wooden house. I entered the first one.

The space inside the room was very small. I didn’t need much time to check it. The room was clean, with nothing inside.
I exited the first room and entered the second. The second room was empty as well. I wasn’t surprised. Then, I continued checking the other wooden houses.
About 20 minutes later,
I had inspected all the remaining wooden houses. But every single one was empty. Not even small items were inside. I had expected to find magical materials.
But there were no magical materials either. I didn’t know what was going on here. I hoped to find a clue about the wanted criminal, Theo Bernard.
Yet, I failed to find anything. What’s more, I was confused by something else. The place was neat and clean, as if someone had deliberately tidied it.
I shook my head before taking out the map again. I unfolded the cloth and started looking for the next destination.
But when I saw a black-marked place on the map, my expression grew serious. This habitable area was close to the exit.
I hadn’t faced many problems except the threat of the multi-eyed monster.
Time passed.
Nighttime arrived. I decided to stay inside one of the wooden houses. I went into the first room and locked the door.
Then, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I went to bed to rest.
Outside, the surrounding area was quiet. There was no movement from the dense green forest. But that changed when midnight came.

Dense brown roots started to appear, emerging from the green forest. More than a hundred tree roots surrounded the wooden houses.
In a flash, multiple eyes appeared on each tree root.

The next second, the tree roots began entering the wooden houses one by one.

The wooden houses broke into pieces one after another. The tree roots destroyed all 20 wooden houses within a few minutes.
The tree roots didn’t retreat. They continued to investigate the area.

Suddenly, multiple eyes appeared on each branch. They flashed for a moment before disappearing. The tree roots then slowly began retreating into the woods.
The 10th-Order Multi-Eyes Monster had followed its prey to this place. But it missed the prey at the last moment.
Finally, it gave up after investigating the area.

I woke up, got out of bed, and started my morning routine.

As the gray mana particles appeared, I guided them according to the mental method. The gravity mana began coursing through my body.
After circulating, the gravity mana entered the mana core space. The gravity mana core absorbed the incoming mana.

I started examining the black drawings. The next habitable area lay through the inner part of the forbidden zone.

I realized I had to be careful. I began studying the route leading to the inner area. It took me a few minutes to memorize the route.
I also looked for dangers along the route, but nothing was marked on the map. Suddenly, something struck me.
I took out the map of the dead wizard and started examining it. The dead wizard’s cloth map had more marked places.
I noticed that the next habitable area was surrounded by many marked locations, labeled as important places.
