Chapter 1557: Merchant Association
From MC’s Perspective:
I’m waiting outside the Merchant Association for the airship to arrive. Fortunately, no one suspected my identity.
But I could feel the tense atmosphere. Most of the people are here to join the factions. They could be fighting against each other soon.
Boom!
Suddenly, there is a loud booming sound in the sky. I raised my head and saw many airships descending down. Two of them right above his head.
I think they are going to land inside the Merchant Association. The length and width of the road was large enough for the four airships to be parked.
Swoosh!
Suddenly, something lit in the sky above the buildings. I saw the magic formations being removed. After seeing that I was dumbfounded.
I didn’t pay attention to it earlier. A few figures flew over the main gate in the sky. After seeing that I flew over the buildings without thinking further.
Then I quickly disappeared into the small street between the shops. Actually, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. Everyone saw someone entering the small street.
The locals didn’t chase. They stood on the same spot.
Swoosh!
A few seconds later, many wizards wearing magic armour began chasing the intruders. Whenever they are flying. People could see purple mana breadth coming from their body.
It’s the sign of dark magic. Yet none of the locals reacted to it. I’m watching the scenes with confusion. Maybe the backgrounds of the families in this alliance have different backgrounds.
A few minutes later,
The intruders were caught except one. They were brought back to the main building.
A team of ten wizards wearing black armour stood in front of the main building.
Their magic armours were all unique. They have purple magic gems in it. In front of the ten wizards. An old man with short hair is looking at the team.
“Where is the last one?”
“He seems to have disappeared after entering the small street,” The old man said.
The ten people looked at each other’s faces. The team is a mix of Level-7 and Level-8 Wizards. The old man is a level-9 Wizard.
He is under the direct command of the Supreme Wizard who is in charge of the protection.
The old man immediately sends the team to look for the last intruder.
On the other hand, the two airships have descended to the ground. Another purple armoured team is protecting the airships.
The locals were surprised for the first time. It’s the first time for the guards to miss someone. The intruder managed to escape under their nose.
It’s not the first time someone tries to enter the association. Most of them are spies sent by different factions. Usually they were all caught.
This time someone was not caught.. If the intruder had gotten near the airships or the main building, he would have gotten caught.
Now, he was nowhere to be seen. The old man was terrified. He is answerable to the Supreme Wizard. If the Association people find the news then they will ask the Supreme Wizard.
The Supreme Wizard in turn would question him. The old man was shocked thinking about it. After sending the team, he arrived at the airships.
There is another team surrounding the two airships. The guards greeted him. The old man enters the first airship to check.
Meanwhile,
The locals and shop owners are shocked. They started to fear that the intruder could be high level wizards. Some of the people are optimistic.
The Merchant Association has financial muscle. They can hire more Wizards to look for the last intruder. They have unique magic artifacts as well.
With that they can find the trace of the intruder. So the knowledgeable people were not worried. But a few others were worried.
Inside the Gregor Mansion, I don’t have any clue about what’s happening outside. I’m just waiting for the night time. So that I can collect information.
It didn’t take long for the news to reach the whole Merchant Association. The Wizard Families behind the Merchant Association heard it as well.
They were all shocked to the core. Their immediate reaction was that some spy had entered their territory. And this terrifying spy either was a high level wizard or someone with special magic.
Otherwise, it’s impossible to escape from the guards. Especially, there is a level-9 Wizard at the spot. They didn’t escalate.
They knew that guards were looking for the intruders everywhere. They felt it’s unnecessary to disturb the Supreme Wizard.
Time passed,
The teams failed to find the last intruder. They didn’t leave any nook and corner. They even barged into the private buildings and shops.
But the intruder was nowhere to be seen. The old man had thoroughly checked both the airships. Both the airships are loaded with goods.
There is no space left for someone to stay. But still he had used his magic artifact to find the mana presence. The result was negative.
Finally, they thought that the last intruder had escaped. The old man had no other choice. He then sent an emergency message to the Supreme Wizard.
It didn’t take long for the Supreme Wizard to summon him after getting the message. The old man then left the place.
The night time came , the shops were closed down after mid might. Only a few shops were left open. Normally, many shops were left open at night time.
Because of the intruder the shop owners have closed down their shop. They had received no information from the Guards and their Captain that the last intruder was caught.
So they didn’t want to take risks. Some of these shops sell antique pieces. They don’t want them to be stolen. The Merchant Families were patiently waiting for the news as well.
They yet to report to the Supreme Wizard directly. Fortunately, the old man reported to his boss before the families could ask anything.
The old man went to meet the Supreme Wizard. The Supreme Wizard is the protector. But he is a dying old man. He can’t stay outside for a long time.
He will take action at times of emergency. Right now, he asked the level-9 Wizard to patrol the whole area in night time as well.
