Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1624: City Lord Dorian Graves

Chapter 1624: City Lord Dorian Graves
Star Hotel:
The Manager once again phoned and informed the Young Master of the Sutton Family. The Young Master was none other than Hale Sutton.
He had previously made a deal with Black Tower Wizard Rowan. He wasn’t surprised by Rowan’s entry to the hotel, because he was the reason behind it.
But Hale wanted to gather details about others. It was necessary for him to avoid the variables before the execution of the big plan.
He ordered the Manager to gather information about the guests as soon as possible. Even if he had to dispatch people to stalk them, then he should do it. Hale needed information in the end.
It was up to the Manager to do it by any means possible. When the call ended, the Manager felt a mountain of pressure weighing on his shoulders. His back was drenched in sweat.
The Young Master gave him a difficult task. It was not easy to gather information. Especially when the guests were powerful people. They had Supreme Wizards at their beck and call.
If they found out that the Star Hotel was behind it, they would raze the Star Hotel to the ground.
The Manager made a decision. He was going to meet the City Lord in person. The City Lord was a person of the Young Master as well.
If the City Lord were to dispatch people to collect information, no one would suspect them. Everyone would think he was doing it for public safety.
Next, the Manager told the admin staff member to take care of the hotel. He was leaving for the City Lord’s building.
When the Manager left, the admin staff sat back in the seat. But his heart was not calm.
“I don’t know what the old man is up to. If any mishap happens, the staff members would become collateral damage,” he thought.
He was not dumb. Everyone knew that the City Auction was going to be filled with danger. The rumor was that outer space items were going to be auctioned.
What are outer space items? It is only the Mage Union people who can come in contact with them. When did it become easy for such objects to be auctioned?
The staff members felt a conspiracy. Unfortunately, they couldn’t do anything.
…
City Lord Building:
The City Lord’s name was Dorian Graves. He was a Supreme Wizard responsible for this independent city called Falling Star City.
But their Graves Family had been holding the power for generations.
There used to be competitors, but ever since the major mana veins were exhausted, the mana in this area had become sparse. Important wizard families and businesses left the city decades ago.
Even the Graves Family shifted, but they refused to let go of the City Lord position.
Dorian Graves was in his office room. It was a wide, spacious hall. It was filled with luxurious furniture, paintings, and decor.
Right now, he heard the Manager of the Star Hotel had come to visit him. He allowed him to enter.
Dorian was a slightly obese middleaged man. He had black hair and eyes. His skin tone was tanned.
Some time ago, he came in contact with the Young Master of the Sutton Family during a private event in the Magic City.
Over the course of time, the trust between them increased. They became partners in crime. Recently, he had agreed to cooperate in Young Master Hale’s plan.
He didn’t know what the Young Master was up to. But Young Master Hale’s demand was to seal the entire auction building before the end of the auction.
He knew Young Master Hale was not going to do anything good. But Young Master Hale had promised to give him an opportunity to break through to reach Magic Lord.
He had been stuck in the Supreme level for over a hundred years. He couldn’t see the next wizard path. He had even convinced himself his wizard potential was over.
But Young Master Hale Sutton gave him new hope. So he was ready to sacrifice the City Lord position. In the worst case, he would be imprisoned.
He knew that the Sutton Family was one of the families behind the Black Tower in the Magic City. They could easily get him released. So he was not worried.
Creak!
Next, he heard someone’s footsteps. Dorian realized that the Manager had come. A whitehaired old man walked in.
“Manager Max, what are you doing here?”
“I heard you are busy taking care of the guest,” Dorian said with a smile.
Hearing that, Old Man Max’s eyes twitched.
“City Lord, you have no idea. I’m under great pressure,” Max said in a serious tone.
Dorian chuckled. He thought that Young Master Hale Sutton must have told him to do something.
“So, why are you here?” he asked.
Max took a breath before he started explaining. He wanted the City Lord’s help right away.
A few minutes later,
Dorian frowned. He knew the outer space items would attract a lot of people. But he didn’t expect it would attract this many powerful people.
Despite knowing that it could be some conspiracy, Dorian gritted his teeth. Since he had agreed, there was no backing away now. There were only two days left before the auction.
After that, he would leave the city; he didn’t care about the aftermath.
Then he called his assistant and ordered him to send a few City Guards to help Manager Max. The City Guards are Level-7 and Level-8 Wizards. The City Guard Captains are Level-9 Wizards.
He thought City Guards were enough to stalk people. If the City Guard Captains were to follow people, then it would alarm the locals instead.
It could be detrimental before the auction.
A few minutes later,
The Manager Max walked out of the building with a smile on his face. He was satisfied with the help. The City Guards would definitely collect the information and no one would suspect them.
Soon, he met with the City Guards and told them what to do. He told them details about the targets and their strength.
It included the masked man and his two Supreme Wizards. The City Guards then left the City Lord building to start their work.
The Manager then started heading back to the hotel.
