Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1627: Part 2: Learning the grand scheme

Chapter 1627: Part 2: Learning the grand scheme
From MC’s Perspective
We arrived at a nearby coffee shop. Seeing that there were seats available, we entered and walked up to the staff.
I asked him about a guest room. He then led us to the private rooms on the second floor. After reaching the designated room, we went inside.
It was a wide, spacious room with a single table and chairs on both sides. I walked up to a chair and sat down.
Otto and Patrick sat opposite me. Then, I turned towards the window and saw the City Guard entering the shop.
A hint of anger appeared in my eyes.
“The City Guard is here again,” I muttered.
Patrick and Otto noticed this as well. Suddenly, Patrick stood up.
He said, “Master, I will stand outside. The City Guard won’t come near the room.”
Hearing that, I said, “Okay.”
Patrick left the room to stand outside. Otto relaxed slightly.
“So, what happened?” I asked.
Otto took a deep breath. Then he looked into my eyes and started speaking.
“Master, I heard the City Lord’s phone call. He was speaking to that Young Master Hale Sutton again…” After saying that, he continued to explain.
At first, my expression was calm, but it changed all of a sudden. I didn’t expect Otto to bring such explosive news.
Outside
Patrick was standing guard at the door. The City Guard came to the second floor in his uniform.
Upon seeing one of the targets, he was stunned on the spot. He didn’t expect the person to be guarding the door. If he was right, then that person was a Supreme Wizard.
Suddenly, the Supreme Wizard turned towards him. Their eyes met. He immediately felt like a thunderclap had struck his head.
He felt exposed. His back was drenched in sweat, and his forehead was covered in cold sweat.
The City Guard waited there. It felt like ages. But the Supreme Wizard didn’t take his gaze away. Having no other choice, he retreated.
He went back to the first floor. Only then was he able to breathe properly.
“Damn it!”
“I was exposed,” he thought.
“It’s not safe to continue spying on them. But the problem is, I was exposed and didn’t collect a single piece of information so far,” the City Guard thought.
He then exited the shop and went out to the street. The next second, he received a call from his friend.
He learned from his friend that the City Lord wanted all the information to be collected before nightfall.
He didn’t have a clue what to do next. Finally, he decided to make up false information. He decided to lie.
After making the decision, he left the place.
Inside
Otto finished his explanation. I turned towards the window and noticed that the City Guard had left the shop. Then I called Patrick to come in.
Patrick walked inside and sat on the chair. I told Otto to tell him what he had told me. Otto started sharing the information with him.
At the same time, I fell into deep contemplation. Young Master Hale’s scheme was bigger and more dangerous than I thought.
If he really brings a Forbidden Wizard with him, then it would be difficult to defeat whatever scheme he is up to.
Otto didn’t say that the Elder was a Forbidden Wizard, but I will think of him as a Forbidden Wizard just in case. I don’t know what they are planning.
Earlier, I thought things could be handled here. But the Forbidden Wizard’s presence changes everything.
A few minutes later, I made a firm decision. I decided to call for help. Lord Charlotte’s help is needed right now.
“You guys, go back to Mistfall City and wait for me,” I said to them.
“What?” Patrick said.
“Master, no,” Otto replied.
“Listen, things are getting bigger. These people are up to something dangerous. Even a Forbidden Wizard is going to come.”
“So, I’m going to ask for help. Someone from my Magic Tower will come. I don’t want to reveal information about you guys,” I said to them.
Patrick and Otto exchanged looks. They understood that their master was right. And the master was not without help; he was someone from the Magic Tower.
If he calls for help, then Magic Lords or Forbidden Wizards might come.
“Okay, Master!” both of them said at the same time.
“Do you guys have communication devices?” I asked them.
“We each bought one back at Mistfall City,” Otto said.
“Good, let’s share our contacts. I want you guys to call me after leaving the city. Then call me again after getting into Mistfall City,” I said to them.
Both of them nodded their heads. Then we had coffee before the two of them left the coffee shop. After they were gone, I ordered one more coffee.
Time passed.
While having the coffee, I received their call. I attended the call and learned that both of them had left the city.
Then I made a direct call to Lord Charlotte. I didn’t know whether she would pick up the call or not, but to my surprise, she answered.
“Vincent Carey, what is it?”
“I heard you wanted to visit the remote city for the auction,” Charlotte said.
Hearing that, I sighed. Then I wasted no time. I started explaining to her. She was quiet and continued to listen to the whole thing.
A few minutes later:
“The Sutton Family… It’s one of the families behind the Black Tower. These guys had a bad reputation even in the Mage Union.”
“I was wondering who was using outer space objects to lure people. I don’t know how you found out, but it’s very important news. I’ll send someone to help you,” Charlotte said.
“If you want, you can still leave the city. There is still time left before the auction,” she added.
Hearing that, I hesitated. I didn’t know if the news about outer space items was true or not. If I could get my hands on them, it would be good.
“Lord, I want to know whether the outer space items are going to be auctioned or not,” I said.
“It’s up to you. But stay safe. Someone will call you when the time is right,” she said.
Then we spoke for a few minutes before ending the call.
