Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1629: Elder Abel

Chapter 1629: Elder Abel
Falling Star City
A middle-aged man stepped out of the aircraft. The person was none other than Hale Sutton. He was wearing a gray tuxedo. His nicely combed black hair suited his attire.
Old Man Marvin walked out next. He was carrying a solemn expression on his face as he stood behind the young master.
Hale didn’t leave; rather, he stepped forward and asked the elder to come out. An extremely aged old man with wrinkled eyes and face stepped out slowly.
He was not wearing a suit, but old-era mage clothes with a loosely fitted mage robe. The old man appeared as if he could die at any time.
But his eyes were filled with sharpness. The old man had seen many ups and downs.
His body was filled with terrifying power, so much so that if he wanted to, he could destroy the city along with its people at any time.
His name was Abel. Everyone called him Elder Abel.
“Elder Abel, let’s go,” Hale said.
The old man gathered his thoughts. He felt no Magic Lord or Forbidden Wizard here. He sighed in relief, but he still decided to warn the young man.
“Young Master Hale, you have chosen this wicked path. If you succeed, the family will help you. But if you fail, then you will be abandoned,” he said in a low voice.
Both Hale and Marvin could hear it. Hale was not angry.
He said, “Don’t worry, Elder. The plan will go smoothly.”
After saying that, he brought the Elder to the City Lord’s building. There was a backdoor at the rear. They could use the backdoor to reach the main office.
Soon, the trio left the place and headed to the main office.
Inside the office, City Lord Dorian was walking back and forth. He was extremely nervous.
Not only had the Young Master come, but the Elder was coming as well. He decided to behave himself.
Shortly afterwards, Young Master Hale, Elder Abel, and Guardian Marvin walked into the room. They saw the slightly obese City Lord.
City Lord Dorian gave up his seat for Elder Abel.
Elder Abel sat on the chair and turned towards the three of them. He said, “I have checked the city. There is no sign of a Magic Lord or Forbidden Wizard. You can start the operation.”
Hearing that, City Lord Dorian heaved a sigh of relief.
“Wonderful,” Hale started.
Then he turned towards City Lord Dorian and asked for the lists. City Lord Dorian already had the lists ready. He gave copies to the three of them, including Guardian Marvin.
Elder Abel, with his old eyes, started going through the lists. He knew that the Mage Union had eyes on everything. Nothing escaped their gaze.
As long as they played within the rules, the Union would turn a blind eye to their actions. It was because they were one of the families behind the Black Tower. They had a good influence inside the Black Tower.
Hale was going through the list. He was serious. He didn’t want to miss any important details. He went through the names and found some interesting ones.
Some of them were relatives of the Wizard Families in the Magic City. They were just distant relatives.
If they were attacked, the Wizard Families in the Magic City wouldn’t react that much.
He didn’t think they would target the Sutton Family for distant relatives. He then continued to go through the name list.
He found some names belonging to medium-sized organizations. These were trading companies and wizard organizations located outside the Magic City.
Such forces had Magic Lords as the heads of their organizations, but they wouldn’t have Forbidden Wizards. So, he completely ignored their threats.
It didn’t take long for him to finish the list.
Then he turned towards his guardian, Marvin. The old man had finished the name list as well.
Hale asked, “Did you find anything?”
Marvin nodded his head and replied, “Young Master, I have found some famous names. But their backgrounds were not worth mentioning.”
“Then don’t tell me,” Hale said.
He trusted Marvin, so there was no need to go through it again.
“Give me your lists,” Elder Abel said to them.
Unlike them, Elder Abel was an experienced Wizard. He knew many more things than they did. He had seen Forbidden Wizards living as hermits.
Some of them were so powerful that they didn’t take the Mage Union seriously. He recalled many bloodline-type wizards among them. He didn’t know how many old monsters were still hidden from the world today.
Hale and Marvin gave him their name lists. City Lord Dorian stood respectfully next to them. Earlier, he had checked the lists with his limited knowledge.
Elder Abel began going through the list.
Hale then thought of the Star Hotel.
“What is the manager doing?” he asked.
“Young Master, he must be on his way here,” Dorian replied.
Shortly afterwards, the Star Hotel Manager walked in. He immediately greeted everyone. Upon seeing the old man seated in the City Lord’s chair, he became even more respectful.
Hale said, “You are late.”
Hearing that, the Manager’s heart skipped a beat.
He said, “Young Master, I just met with a new problem. It delayed me.”
“Oh. What is it?” Hale asked.
“Young Master, the masked man and the two Supreme Wizards were nowhere to be seen. They didn’t return to the hotel,” the Manager said.
Hale raised his eyebrows. Marvin showed some surprise on his face. Even Old Man Abel was listening intently.
City Lord Dorian said, “You must be mistaken. I heard they were roaming around the outer ring.”
The Manager said, “I have sent people there. But they didn’t see them.”
“What is his identity?” Hale asked.
“Young Master, it appears the masked man is from a fallen wizard family. Their ancestors lived in Mistfall City. Later, they migrated to some other place,” the Manager replied.
“So they are not a threat,” Hale uttered.
“Show me that name,” Elder Abel said, startling the four of them.
Then they recovered their thoughts, and the Manager hurriedly stepped forward to show the name.
Hale and Marvin exchanged looks. Hale didn’t expect the name of a fallen wizard family to alert Elder Abel.
