Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1637: Lord Erwin

Chapter 1637: Lord Erwin
From MC’s Perspective
Inside the 3rd room, I watched the bidding with excitement. I suspected the guests in the 1st and 4th rooms were people with significant backgrounds. They were making bids using Top Grade Mana Stones.
The female staff member standing on the stage saw that no one else was making a bid so far.
She said, “The Black Rock Shield at 52,000 Top Grade Mana Stones is going once.”
After pausing for a moment, she uttered, “Going twice.”
She then swept her gaze across the first and second floors. She found that the people on the first floor were not going to make a bid.
She then turned towards the second floor. Just before she could call “going thrice”…
“54,000 Top Grade Mana Stones!”
The male voice from the 1st room sounded again.
Quiet!
Hearing that, everyone quieted down once again. The female staff member sighed in relief. She could make more profit if someone made a higher bid.
Now that the male guest had made a bid again, she looked towards the 4th room.
“Harumph!”
A cold snort came from the 4th room. It was none other than the female guest inside. The other guests didn’t say anything, but the people on the first floor continued to discuss the guests’ identities.
The female staff member smiled and said, “The Black Rock Shield at 54,000 Top Grade Mana Stones, going once.”
“Going twice!” she uttered after a pause.
She once again turned towards the 4th room, but the female guest didn’t make any further bids.
Not only was the staff member looking at the room, but the people on the first floor were looking as well. However, no voice came from the 4th room.
“Going thrice!” the female staff said in a calm tone, seeing that it was a successful bid.
She announced, “The Black Rock Shield belongs to the guest in the 1st room.”
Gasp!
A loud exclamation occurred. The important guest in the 1st room had made a successful bid. Most of the crowd confirmed that a big shot from one of the independent cities must be here.
At this time, inside the 3rd room, I started to think that one of the Magic Lords could be inside the 1st room.
Meanwhile
Young Master Hale and Guardian Marvin were watching the auction as well. Seeing two big shots making moves, Hale was surprised inwardly.
He felt glad that he had a spatial storage item with him. If these big shots had asked him, he would have had to show it to them.
Guardian Marvin, standing behind him, was alert. He was thinking that a Magic Lord could be present in either of the rooms.
Outside the City
Forbidden Wizard Erwin arrived at the city. He didn’t enter directly; he thought that people from the Sutton Family could be there.
If he went in, he would be exposed. So, he wanted to confirm Vincent Carey’s situation first.
He then took out his device and called him.
3rd Room
I received a sudden call. I ignored the auction and took the device out. There was no contact name, but I answered the call.
“Vincent Carey, where are you?”
I heard a familiar voice. It took me a couple of seconds to recognize it.
“Lord Erwin, I’m attending the auction right now,” I replied.
“Good. I’m standing outside the city. Are you alright? What’s the situation out there?” Erwin asked.
Hearing that, I sighed in relief. I didn’t expect Lord Erwin himself to arrive. He was one of the powerful Forbidden Wizards of the Silver Tower.
I collected my thoughts and replied, “Lord, it is dangerous here. Many powerful wizards from the independent cities have come, including the Magic Lords.”
“But I found that a powerful Sealing Artifact was placed here. It could be activated by Hale Sutton at any time,” I added.
“A Sealing Artifact?” Erwin frowned.
If he took action right now, Vincent Carey and the others could well become hostages. He didn’t know whether to wait or not.
He asked, “Are you sure about it?”
“Lord, I’m one hundred percent sure there is a Sealing Artifact in place here,” I replied.
Erwin’s eyebrows furrowed. A Sealing Artifact was placed where Magic Lords and Supreme Wizards had gathered?
Then it must be a powerful artifact. He was thinking about all those people as well; it wasn’t about rescuing Vincent Carey alone.
Erwin decided to report to Charlotte before going inside the city. If any unseen situation arose, the backup could save their lives.
“Okay, I’ll try to find out the artifact’s location first. Until then, you have to take care of yourself,” Erwin said.
“Okay, Lord,” I replied.
Erwin ended the call. He didn’t waste any time and made a call to Charlotte. Charlotte was following the updates as well.
When she received the call, she answered immediately. She heard everything from Erwin, and her beautiful eyebrows furrowed.
She found it unbelievable, but she knew Vincent Carey wouldn’t make such jokes.
Vincent Carey was someone who had done difficult missions, including trips to Forbidden Zones and the Disordered Land. He may have known ways to detect Sealing Artifacts.
Erwin didn’t doubt Vincent Carey either, so he decided to enter the city. But he asked Charlotte to arrange a backup.
If a fight broke out, it would destroy the city and the surrounding terrain. Charlotte was worried. They couldn’t take such a unilateral decision to fight.
If someone knew the Mage Union was involved, they would have to explain it to the higher-ups. Charlotte urged Erwin to avoid fighting as much as possible.
In the meantime, she would talk to Elder Dana and the other elders.
When the call ended, Erwin turned towards the city. He had been hiding his presence; otherwise, his presence would have been known to the people inside.
Now that he had made a report, he could enter the city without worry.
He disappeared from the spot and flew over the city wall. He then vanished again and appeared among the locals walking on the streets.
This action took not even a fraction of a second.
