Chapter 1714: Thornside City

After destroying the clues, my attention shifted to the other battle. I didn’t know whether those guys had succeeded or not.

I shifted my body and rushed in Hank’s direction. In the blink of an eye, I appeared at the spot. I saw Hank’s bloodied body on the ground.

He was still alive and breathing. The two Level-9 Wizards were standing in front of him. They had injuries, but their condition wasn’t that bad.

They were ready to attack Hank again. They didn’t notice my presence.

I raised my hand, about to cast a magic spell.

“Gravity Blast.”

I cast the magic spell attack. Next, a stream of light released from my right hand.

The two gray streams of light went across in a straight line before piercing through the bodies of the two Level-9 Wizards. Their internal organs were instantly crushed.

The two Level-9 Wizards were stunned. They were about to attack their enemy; they didn’t expect two streams of light to strike them out of nowhere.

Their bodies were flung backward before crashing down in different directions. The magic spell attack had destroyed their internal organs.

Hank snapped out of his thoughts. He turned around and saw Master Vincent Carey was here. He heaved a sigh of relief.

“I didn’t expect you to face difficulties,” I said to Hank.

“My magic is not offense-type magic. I had to use my body to stop them,” Hank replied in a low tone.

Hearing that, I realized the difficulty and praised him.

“Okay, destroy the corpses. We have to find them,” I said.

Hank nodded before taking things out of his storage ring to destroy the corpses. He had experience with eliminating corpses before.

I waited there for him to finish his work. Hank destroyed the corpses in a few minutes. Then, we both left the spot and started going towards Otto and Patrick.

We came to the bush area. Otto and Patrick were sitting on the bedrock. They had bruises on their bodies.

There were two corpses lying on the ground. The corpses of the two Supreme Wizards were crushed.

Otto and Patrick raised their heads. They saw Master Vincent and Hank had come.

“Master, we killed them,” Otto said.

“Good,” I uttered.

“It appears that they have some background,” Patrick said in a solemn tone.

“Don’t worry. If the forces behind them find out, they won’t dare to attack,” I said to them. “Let’s go. Our next destination is Thornside City.”

We resumed our journey. As time went by, we were walking alone along the route toward Thornside City.

While walking, I assigned tasks to everyone. I had ordered them to collect as many copies of books as possible.

Otto, Patrick, and Hank understood the task. They had heard about the special place located outside the Territory of the Mage Union.

That night, we came to Thornside City. Like the name suggests, the city appeared to be a thorn. Weird, magic thorn-shaped trees growing over 200 meters tall were all over the city.

The size of the thorn trees was so massive that they had grown over the height of the city wall. The city walls were over 100 meters in height.

We reached the front of the City Gate. All four of us were staring at the weird, tall trees.

“Master, I found something wrong with the weird thorn trees,” Patrick said all of a sudden.

Otto nodded his head and said, “Yes, Master. As if they were no ordinary trees, but magic trees.”

Hank was observing the weird thorn trees as well. But he wasn’t able to find anything. His senses were not sharp enough to find out the truth.

At the same time, I started getting a bad premonition. Why was every city in this region weird? I was having a bad feeling here again.

The weird magic thorn trees seemed especially dangerous. I started using the system function to find out the truth.

Next, the system results came back positive. My heart set off storms. I was right. The weird thorn trees were not ordinary; they were all magic trees.

I took a deep breath before calming my heart.

“Okay. Let’s go inside,” I said to them.

Hearing that, the four of us walked up to the line and stood behind the people. The guards here were doing inspections as well.

It didn’t take long for our time to come. The guards asked about our identity. We told them that we were wandering Wizards.

They took the entry fees from us. Then, we were allowed to walk through the main gate. We came to the other side and saw the city was rather big.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes. The city was like any other city, busy with businesses and a bustling crowd.

I had told them to find a hotel nearest to the city gate. We found one quickly and entered the hotel.

The hotel name was similar to the city. The hotel had 15 floors. Patrick and Otto booked the prime suite again. We came to the tenth floor and entered our place.

Patrick, Otto, and Hank were tired. They decided to take a rest. Seeing that, I told them to watch over the place before appearing inside the Gregor Mansion.

But the way of doing things in each city was different. Here, the names of visitors were collected at the front. The unknown and wandering wizards would be strictly monitored.
