Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1757 1757: Neutral Faction!

From MC Perspective
After entering the room, I went to the sink and turned on the tap. I washed my face with cold water, then wiped it with a towel before sitting down on the sofa.
“Phew!”
I heaved a sigh of relief. I didn’t expect to come across such an important person in the mana chamber. His strength is formidable. I’m sure he was the same person spotted by Otto back then.
Then I recalled his advice to me. He clearly knows about my troubles, which means the enemies are waiting for me.
Now that he knows of my presence, I don’t know whether he will share the news with others. It’s a good time to find out whether that person is on my side or not.
…
Office
Manager Lara was doing her job when the news of her return spread. The Wizard Seeds and the official members of the Silver Tower contacted her immediately.
They were all keen to know where she had been, showing more curiosity than concern.
Lara was careful. She didn’t reveal anything, saying only that it was a personal matter. Most didn’t bother her further, but a few inquired about Vincent Carey.
They thought she would know his whereabouts, but she didn’t tell them.
Others asked about the identity of the masked man, but she refused to answer any of their questions. She knew once information about Vincent Carey was leaked, he would face endless trouble.
…
Meanwhile
Holden Barrett returned to his family in a good mood because he had discovered that secret information. He knew Vincent Carey had returned.
He was still not clear on how to form a relationship with this person because his faction was neutral.
They neither support nor reject the factions in the Silver Tower, so he didn’t know what to do with the information yet. He decided to watch from the sidelines.
…
Black Tower
Forbidden Wizard Remi returned to the Black Tower in a bad mood. After returning, he met with the Elders. The Elders immediately inquired about the details, and Remi told them everything.
He informed the Elders that someone had rescued Manager Lara. Hearing that, the Elders’ expressions darkened.
They, too, thought someone must have informed the Elders of the Silver Tower. They suspected a formidable person had been sent to rescue a Magic Lord right under the nose of a Forbidden Wizard.
The Elders realized the Silver Tower might have learned of their activities by now. Consequently, the Black Tower would have to be careful of retaliation. Forbidden Wizard Remi would have to stay low-key again.
Just as he thought the Elders might drop the matter, they asked about Vincent Carey again. Remi was annoyed. He told the Elders the kid might be lurking outside the Magic City.
If the Forbidden Wizards Erwin and Charlotte returned, the kid would likely return soon after. The Elders realized they still had time to deal with the boy and could discuss it again once he returned to the city.
They had other targets in the Silver Tower as well, but the backgrounds of those people were strong. One of the Elders told Remi that the heir of the Barrett family had also returned to the Silver Tower.
Hearing that, the faces of Remi and the other Elders changed drastically; they had almost forgotten about Holden Barrett.
Holden Barrett is more dangerous than Vincent Carey. They had been targeting him for a long time, but none of their methods had been successful.
Remi’s face darkened; he was afraid the Elders would ask him to carry out the mission again.
And that is exactly what happened. The Elders ordered him to eliminate Holden Barrett. Remi wanted to reject the order, but the Elders told him he must eliminate either Vincent Carey or Holden Barrett.
Since Vincent Carey was not there, he had to focus on Holden Barrett. Remi didn’t know what to say; he could only agree in the end.
…
In the room, I waited for several hours, but no news about me appeared on the feed. It showed that Holden Barrett hadn’t revealed anything.
I sighed in relief. Then, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I went to the main hall and met with the other members to discuss our next steps.
“Master, what are you going to do next?” Otto asked.
“I have just settled down. I’m going to wait a few more days before going outside,” I said.
Hearing that, Otto and the others looked downcast. Seeing their reactions, I realized I should be thinking about them more.
“Don’t worry, I’m going to find a mansion in the meantime,” I told them. I then shifted the topic to other matters.
Swoosh!
That evening, I went back to my room, put on my mask, and left. I walked downstairs to meet Manager Lara. After going to the sitting area and calling out to her. She had been in her office but came to see me a few minutes later.
“What do you want to talk about?” Manager Lara asked.
“Manager Lara, did you forget? I need a mansion. I don’t think it’s good to stay in the Silver Tower all the time.” After saying that, I told her about my meeting with Holden Barrett.
“Barrett?” Lara was taken aback. “When did this happen?”
“The mana chamber,” I replied.
She nodded. “He is from the Barrett family. They belong to the neutral faction in the Silver Tower. He is not going to reveal information about you,” she added. “I’ll ask my friends about a mansion. If I find any information, we can visit the place tomorrow.”
I thanked her. Then, I thought about Forbidden Wizards Charlotte and Erwin and asked her about them.
Manager Lara shook her head. “I haven’t been able to contact them, but I believe they won’t stay away for long. So don’t worry. Let’s just find that mansion for you. If you stay here, you might come across more people.”
She, too, thought there was truth in my concerns. I thanked her again before heading back to my room.
Manager Lara watched his back until he was out of sight, then she returned to her office.
