Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1760: Getting everyone settled

Chapter 1760: Getting everyone settled
From MC’s Perspective
Once I explained the dangers surrounding Crystal City, everyone understood the challenges around here. Their facial reactions showed everything; they won’t cause any more problems. Now, it’s time for them to settle down.
Then, I told everyone to find their rooms and rest. They are going to live here from now on. Hearing that, everyone got excited.
They had been waiting for this day. The spatial mansion was good, but it was nothing compared to the real world. They can finally go out now and breathe in fresh air.
They couldn’t wait to check out their rooms. The next second, everyone left to find their own rooms to settle down, including the old man, Magic Lord Rock. He was equally excited. It didn’t take long for everyone to pick suitable rooms and start checking them out.
On the other hand, I had already used the system’s power to find the best room. It was a big, spacious room located near the basement.
Ever since I stepped inside the building with Manager Lara earlier, I had noticed this large room. It’s one of the main rooms in the mansion. I immediately went to check it. When I arrived, I opened the door and walked inside.
If I’m not wrong, there is an access hatch to the basement inside the room.
My gaze scanned the whole room before finding a hidden door, not the access hatch. This came as a surprise. Then, I shifted my attention from the hidden door to the room itself.
The room was wide and spacious, but there was no light. I walked up to the closed window and slid it open.
The next second, bright light illuminated the whole room. I saw that the room was not empty; a bed and furniture were already there. I didn’t need to buy a single thing.
But I had one more thing to check. I immediately used the system function to scan the room. I wanted to know whether the place had any hidden troubles.
The system results came in the next moment. The system didn’t find anything dangerous hidden here. After hearing the system’s voice in my mind, I sighed in relief.
I was worried that the slightly obese Supervisor had ulterior motives, but it appeared he didn’t do anything damaging here.
If there had been something, it wouldn’t have escaped the eyes of Manager Lara.
After observing the room for a few minutes, I turned my attention toward the hidden door. I went towards the door to the underground chamber, opened it, and went inside.
Only dark, empty space greeted me. For a second, I froze on the spot. I didn’t know what to do next. A weird smell attracted my attention. What could it be?
I didn’t know, but I was sure it was not dangerous.
However, the smell was kind of disgusting. I had a vague idea what the scent could be. I raised my eyebrows and asked the system to find it.
[Ding! Faint traces of blood can be found.]
The system voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, my gaze sharpened. I was right; the blood was disgusting for this reason.
If there were blood traces here, it could mean only one thing: death. Someone might have been killed down here.
Swoosh!
The next second, I found many figures rushing into the room, including the members and the two monsters.
“Master, what’s with the room?” Otto asked. “The basement is attached to one of the main rooms? Master, you have picked the right room.”
Hearing that, I said, “This type of building is common here.”
The other members agreed. Then, I told them about my discovery down here.
Gasp!
A small exclamation sounded. Magic Lord Rock was the first to recognize the secret.
“Someone might have been killed down here a long time ago,” Rock said in a solemn tone.
“Is this good news or bad news?” Patrick asked.
Hank didn’t know what to say; he had the least experience among them. Even the old vine monster felt something wrong about the scene.
“Master, you don’t have to worry. It might have happened a long time ago,” Otto said from the side.
I nodded at him. I didn’t take the blood scent too seriously, but I felt it was good to gather information. Then, I shifted the topic by asking where they had picked their rooms.
Magic Lord Rock and Hank picked the top floors, while Patrick and Otto picked rooms on the ground floor, because they had known each other for several years.
On the other hand, the two monsters will be staying in the underground room. The Vine Monster was fine with it, and the Sky Salamander had no choice.
The underground basement is wide and spacious enough for them to live in.
When everyone’s situation was confirmed, I told them to go back to their rooms and not to go outside without my word.
The next second, the Crimson Curse in their mana cores was activated, except for the Sky Salamander. It wouldn’t dare to disobey the orders of Master Vincent. Then, the two monsters stayed put and the others left.
…
Meanwhile,
Manager James reported to the city officials about the new member of the Crystal Gate Community.
However, the identity of the person was confidential because the property was under the name of Manager Lara.
She was not only a member of the Silver Tower but also a Magic Lord herself. So, the higher-ups treated the person recommended by her with utmost respect.
But Manager James was different. He wanted to uncover the identity of the masked man. He thought the identity of the masked man must be extraordinary.
On the surface, he agreed with the higher-ups, but in his heart, he resolved to uncover the truth at any cost.
He returned to his residence to devise a plan. After getting some clues, he would decide what to do next.
He didn’t know why the masked man was going to stay in Crystal City, but he thought the truth would come out sooner or later.
If the wizard families in the city learned about Manager Lara’s activity, they would do everything to learn about the masked man at any cost.
