Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1770 1770: Part 2: Invitation

From MC Perspective
I didn’t stop and continued walking. Let’s see if he dares to do anything.
Meanwhile,
An old man was hiding in the dark. He had entered the community earlier to spy on the new shop owner.
He was following orders from one of the associations and was glad that he had been able to find the target.
Swoosh!
The next second, he disappeared from the spot and reappeared in front of the target.
At the same time, the system warned me again. But the person opposite me didn’t show any killing intent, so I restrained myself from attacking.
Looking at the old man who had appeared so suddenly, I raised my eyebrows.
“Who are you?” I asked.
The old man smiled and spoke in an apologetic tone. “Young Master, I’m sorry for the unannounced appearance. I’m following the orders of the higher-ups.”
Hearing that, my expression eased. “It’s okay. What do you want?”
The old man was visibly relaxed; he was glad the person hadn’t taken offense. He said, “I’m from the Infinite Circle Association. It’s one of the main associations in Crystal City.”
“My master wants to attend the shop’s opening day. He wants to get to know you. Is there any way he might attend the function?”
I was momentarily dumbfounded. I understood the old man was asking for an invitation, but his method of asking was indirect. I shook my head before taking out a purple invitation and handing it to him.
“Okay. I’m new to the city as well. It won’t hurt me to get acquainted with new people. Your master can come,” I said.
The old man was pleased. He nodded and thanked me before leaving. I waited for a couple of seconds to confirm he had truly left, then took a deep breath and headed toward the house.
The following day,
The news about the invitation was somehow leaked. The other forces in Crystal City were alerted.
Those who received an invitation were happy, while those who didn’t were disappointed. They all wanted to get familiar with the new appraiser.
Who doesn’t want to make connections? Especially if someone was connected to the Silver Tower. Since they were all part of the Silver Tower, there was even more reason for them to attend.
Soon, other forces sent representatives to the Crystal Community. The guards at the gate didn’t dare stop them; each possessed a terrifying background.
You wouldn’t normally see the representatives of these forces on ordinary days, but because of the new shop owner, people were seeing many important figures.
On the other hand, I was dealing with a headache. The invitations weren’t enough, and visitors were arriving day after day without notice.
I couldn’t afford to be rude to them since they were all from local forces, so I told them to return in a day or two.
Soon, I even received visitors from the city authorities. Even they couldn’t sit still. A wry smile appeared on my face. I didn’t want to be high-profile, but circumstances had forced my hand.
I gave the authorities the same answer: if an invitation was ready, I would send one of my people to their place so they didn’t have to come here.
The authorities left with smiles, understanding that the new shop owner wasn’t neglecting them.
But in reality, there were no invitations left to give. They knew Crystal City was large and only the upper circle was qualified to attend.
There was also someone like Manager Lara; she would definitely invite her friends, meaning many important people would be there.
For the various forces, widening their connections was more important than the actual function itself.
Days passed,
When the new invitations were finally ready, I sent Patrick and Otto to deal with the people. The visitors never stopped coming.
This time, representatives from other associations started appearing. I didn’t know whether Infinite Circle had leaked the information or not.
I couldn’t send these representatives away empty-handed. Though I was unwilling to be high-profile, I had no other choice, so I gave them invitations as well.
Meanwhile,
Manager Lara in Magic City was busy as well. Her friends had managed to get the news.
How could they ignore a major event in one of the satellite cities, especially when it was related to their friend? Lara gave her friends invitations, and her actions were no secret.
Spies from various forces learned of the matter and were internally shocked.
Manager Lara was one of the most important people in the Silver Tower, a Magic Lord whose strength commanded respect.
Knowing her relative was opening an appraisal shop in Crystal City, how could they stay silent? However, they had no way of contacting Lara directly.
They could only plan to visit the shop later, skipping the opening day.
Lara then called Jason Nicholson, Wilfred Cox, and Susan Park. When they arrived at the Silver Tower, she handed them their invitations.
All three were happy and hadn’t expected to be invited so soon. They all agreed to come.
Once they left, Lara contacted Holden Barrett, who came later to collect his invitation.
Lara was confused; she didn’t know whether Holden had found something out or not. She could only hope that Vincent Carey could handle the situation.
On the other hand, the three friends didn’t leave immediately. As usual, they found a coffee shop to sit and talk.
They decided to travel to Crystal City together. They had many unknown items with them and hoped to have them appraised.
The cost of doing so elsewhere was expensive, and they hoped Manager Lara’s relatives would be considerate.
At the same time, Holden Barrett decided to attend the function for the sake of his family. He knows the value of an appraiser.
He didn’t expect Manager Lara’s relative to be someone formidable. This will increase the status of her in the Silver Tower.
But he didn’t suspect a thing. Manager Lara was worried for nothing. If he had known about it, then he would have used the information to make profit.
