Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1790: A new crisis from Tulip City

Chapter 1790: A new crisis from Tulip City
Crystal City Shop
A few days later,
After getting ready, I left the room and went to see the shop. To my surprise, the shop was empty. I raised my eyebrows in surprise.
“What’s going on?” I asked myself.
Then my gaze fell on the members who were sitting in the living area. Hank, Patrick, Otto, and old man Rock were there.
I turned around and walked up to them. I saw their grim expressions. It showed that something had happened. Upon seeing me, they stood up and greeted me.
“Can anyone tell me what happened?” I asked as I sat down on the sofa.
Everyone turned towards Hank. Seeing that, I looked towards him as well. Hank wore a troubled expression.
He said, “Master, something major happened this morning. Do you remember the person from the Tulip Auction House?”
Hearing that, I said, “I know. What happened to him?”
Hank swallowed hard before saying, “He got caught. Apparently, there is news circulating this morning. He was the one who used the dark poison to cause a lot of death in the neighborhood.”
I was stunned. Finally, my expression hardened. I knew something was wrong with the guy, but I didn’t expect him to use the dark poison.
“Don’t tell me… he wanted to experiment since everyone failed to appraise the item,” I thought.
Then I recovered my thoughts and asked, “So what does that have to do with us?”
“It doesn’t concern us,” I added.
Then I noticed everyone’s expressions were still grim.
“Master, everyone is blaming the Tulip Auction House because of the matter. The Tulip Auction House obviously wants nothing to do with this.”
“They are looking for a scapegoat. This morning, they released a statement saying that Cedric was fooled. Someone appraised it wrongly and gave false information to him.”
“So they are looking for an appraiser. Our shop’s name is included in their list,” Hank said in a serious tone.
A quick gleam appeared in my eyes. I never thought a new problem could arise like this. The problem didn’t come from the Magic Towers, but from a random auction house member.
I furrowed my eyebrows. The Tulip Auction House is playing with fire. There are not many independent appraisers with a background.
Cedric might have visited all the famous ones. Are they going to offend everyone?
“Humph,” I gave a cold snort in my heart.
“Master, this news has spread across Crystal City. That’s why no one has come so far,” Hank said.
“Don’t worry, I have the support of the Silver Tower. I would like to see what they are going to do,” I said to them.
Then I stood up and went to my room. I decided to share this matter with Manager Lara.
I doubted the Tulip Auction House would target me; everyone knows that Manager Lara is behind me. But still, I thought it was better to be safe. After entering the room, I phoned her.
Manager Lara answered the call.
“Vincent, what happened?”
“Do you know anything about the Tulip Auction House?” Lara asked.
Hearing that, I was taken aback. I didn’t expect her to know about the news already. It appeared I was the last person to know. I should wake up earlier in the morning.
“Manager Lara, I just learned what happened. The Tulip Auction House has added my shop’s name as well,” I said to her.
“The Tulip Auction House is looking for a way out. The auction was jointly run by the Flame Magic Tower and wizard families,” Lara said.
“They know about your relationship with the Silver Tower. The Flame Magic Tower could trouble you. Let’s see what they are going to do next.”
“If trouble comes to you, then you can contact the Forbidden Wizard Erwin,” Lara said in a serious tone.
Hearing that, my expression darkened. I didn’t expect one of the elemental towers to run the Tulip Auction House. I lacked proper intel. I raised my eyebrows.
Then I thanked Manager Lara before ending the call. She was right, Forbidden Wizard Erwin is here.
But it was only known to me. To outsiders, I’m Shop Owner Frank. There is a possibility the Flame Elemental Tower will target me.
I took a deep breath before leaving the room. I went to the members and told them to rest assured.
A good idea came to my mind all of a sudden.
“Patrick, Hank, and Otto!”
“The three of you go around the city to collect information. I want to know whether anyone is eyeing our shop,” I said to them.
“Master, you are right. I have long wanted to go outside. We can finally use our skills,” Otto said.
“Don’t worry, Master. No one will cause trouble for us,” Patrick said from the side.
“Master, almost everyone knows about us. The outsiders think that we are staff working here, so they won’t cause problems for us,” Hank said.
“What about me?” old man Rock asked.
“Old man, you are here to protect the shop. Who knows? The Tulip Auction House could secretly send someone,” I said to him.
Hearing that, old man Rock’s eyes flickered. He nodded his head.
Then the three of them left the shop. I watched them leave before returning to the room. I decided to spend time practicing.
The trio walked out of the main gate. It surprised the guards, who greeted them with respect.
Soon after they left, both guards took out their devices and phoned someone to share the information.
Otto’s mouth curved into an arc.
Patrick and Hank noticed the guards as well. They were Supreme Wizards; the guards’ actions didn’t go unnoticed by them.
Patrick said, “It appears the guards were already bought with money. I don’t know who they are sharing information with.”
Hank raised his eyebrows. He didn’t expect the guards to act like this.
Otto then overheard the conversations of the guards. He smiled and said, “One of them spoke to the city authorities. The second one spoke to the Wizard Association.”
Patrick and Hank were surprised. They had made the right decision to come out. Now they could learn who was plotting against their shop.
“Everyone must be waiting for our reaction to the news,” Otto said.
“They dare not target us openly,” Patrick added.
Hank was listening to both seniors.
