Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1791: Wizard Callum

Chapter 1791: Wizard Callum
Tulip City – Tulip Auction House
“Waste!”
“That trash has caused a huge problem for us. Killing him was not enough; we should have tortured him,” an old man said angrily.
The old man was none other than the owner of the Tulip Auction House. His name was Roderick. He was also a Supreme Wizard and a member of the Flame Elemental Magic Tower.
The auction house was owned by him and several other families, with the Flame Elemental Tower serving as their backup. Their business had been running smoothly for all these years.
But one of the members had ruined everything. Cedric had used an outer-species venom for an experiment, but the venom killed the people nearby and the surrounding neighborhood in a flash.
Later, he was caught by them, but the public anger was hard to ignore. If they didn’t act, it would piss off the higher-ups of the Mage Union. If the Union took action, they wouldn’t spare anyone.
That’s why old man Roderick took action and executed Cedric a few minutes ago. Soon, the news about the execution would reach the public.
But it wouldn’t be enough. The old man had already released a statement claiming they were still finding the true culprit; he had executed Cedric merely to ease public anger.
To have the people forgive the Tulip Auction House and get the business running successfully again, he had to find another scapegoat to shift the blame. Only then would the people forgive them.
His plan was approved by the elders of the Flame Elemental Tower because the incident had affected their business greatly. A steady stream of income had been stopped.
This would reduce the contributions given to the Flame Elemental Tower. For the Tower, the contribution was insignificant, but they had lost face because of the incident.
Everyone knew that the Flame Elemental Tower was the backer of the Tulip Auction House. Especially the Heads of the Major Wizard Forces knew about it.
Old man Roderick couldn’t take back his own statement. He picked up the report on his desk and went through it page by page.
It contained a list of names of people who were visited by Cedric before the incident. All of them were appraisers with their backgrounds listed, including the appraisers of other major auction houses.
Cedric had contacted them privately. Even though they had failed to appraise the item, Cedric didn’t give up. He had continued to meet with other appraisers.
Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore. He wanted to experiment himself, but the results ended in tragedy.
Roderick selected a few of the names as targets. He could use any one of them to shift the blame, but he wanted to maximize the benefits.
Among the names visited by Cedric, he found one particularly interesting name.
“Shop owner Frank,” Roderick uttered.
He learned about the newly opened appraisal shop. It was opened by a wizard named Frank, a relative of Manager Lara from the Silver Tower.
He thought shop owner Frank would become the perfect scapegoat. Frank was new to the field; Roderick could easily blame Frank’s lack of experience to accuse him.
Though he didn’t have concrete evidence, people would believe him. What’s more, the Elemental Towers had always been at odds with the Silver Tower.
If he could carry out this plan, not only could he solve their current predicament, but he would also damage the reputation of the Silver Tower.
If the shop owner Frank was gone, the Silver Tower would lose influence in Crystal City and the surrounding cities.
It was like hitting two targets with one stone. Old man Roderick’s eyes gleamed with a twinkle.
If he had known the true identity of Shop Owner Frank, he wouldn’t have dared to do this even in his dreams.
Unfortunately, he was getting carried away.
Roderick didn’t waste time. He contacted his higher-ups in the Flame Elemental Tower. They were Magic Lords, and he was contacting one of them now.
When the person answered the call, Roderick spoke about his plan. The Magic Lord didn’t immediately agree since it involved targeting an influence of the Silver Tower.
The Magic Lord had to get permission from his own higher-ups; he couldn’t give orders on matters concerning other Magic Towers.
That Magic Lord immediately informed one of the Forbidden Wizards. His name was Callum, the Fire Elemental Forbidden Wizard.
When Callum got the message from the Magic Lord, he raised his eyebrows. He didn’t like being disturbed during his practice.
But he knew this Magic Lord; the man was one of his own in the Magic Tower. If this person was disturbing him, there had to be a reason.
Callum answered the call. When he learned the information from the Magic Lord, his eyes flashed with a red glint.
Anything involving the Silver Tower mattered to him. Especially things involving the White Silver Faction were of high importance.
He knew that the girl in the Silver Tower was close to Forbidden Wizard Erwin, and Erwin was his archenemy.
Now he knew a relative of that girl was involved in the Tulip City incident. How could he let go of this opportunity? He didn’t care about the ins and outs.
He didn’t know the truth of the matter, but since the Tulip Auction House wanted to use her relative as a scapegoat, he gave the green light.
The Magic Lord was stunned. He hadn’t expected the Lord to agree this quickly. He had thought the Lord would consult with the Elders, who were the heads of the Flame Elemental Tower.
But he didn’t dare to disobey. He ended the call and called back Supreme Wizard Roderick, telling him to go forward with the plan. Forbidden Wizard Callum had agreed to support him.
Old man Roderick was on cloud nine. He hadn’t expected his simple plan to draw the support of Forbidden Wizard Callum.
He knew about the Lord. Callum was someone who loved to battle, a battle maniac who usually lived in solitude.
Roderick hadn’t expected that person to step in and help now. He let go of his worries; since Lord Callum had come out to support him, the public noise would soon be gone.
Even the people who wanted to cause trouble would become uneasy. He could now act without worry.
Old man Roderick decided to send people in first. He needed to collect information to come up with a foolproof plan.
