Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1794: Final phase

Chapter 1794: Final phase
Tulip Auction House
A few days later, the ten Supreme wizards returned to the auction house. They had collected enough information.
What’s more, they dared not stay after knowing that Manager Lara from the Silver Tower was staying in the target’s shop.
She was a Magic Lord. They were afraid of being found by her, so they left after a few days.
Auction House Owner Roderick heard everyone’s statement. Unlike the others, he was not scared. There was not even a hint of worry on his face.
It greatly puzzled the Supreme Wizards. They were not stupid; they could tell that Cedric committed a crime. He was executed because of that.
But it was the auction house’s fault for not monitoring him properly. Yet, Roderick was thinking of making a relative of Manager Lara a scapegoat.
“Wasn’t he afraid of death?” This was on everyone’s mind, but they dared not ask him.
Roderick smiled and said, “You guys have done a good job. Since they have two Magic Lords in the shop, I should invite help as well.”
Hearing that, the wizards were shocked. Magic Lords were not cabbages. The Magic Lords in the families were old and close to their death.
Whereas Magic Lord Lara was still in her prime. What’s more, the rumored body-type wizard beside shop owner Frank was said to be strong as well.
“Shop owner, are you sure?”
“Fights between wizards are banned here. Do you think they would believe a simple accusation?” one of the old men asked.
This was the question bothering him. Hearing that, the others perked up their ears as well. They wanted to know what the shop owner was cooking.
Roderick thought it didn’t hurt to tell them.
“Of course they won’t listen to us. Even the Magic Lords from the wizard families are not enough to threaten them.”
“But what if a Magic Lord from the Flame Elemental Tower comes for support?” he added.
Gasp!
The Supreme Wizards lost their composure and exclaimed in surprise. They looked into each other’s eyes in disbelief.
They were wondering who could be behind the shop owner. Now, they understood it was the Flame Elemental Tower.
No wonder he was not afraid. They connected the dots and understood why they were targeting shop owner Frank.
The Silver Tower had always been opposed to them. It was a good opportunity to damage their influence.
Roderick smiled and said, “Now you guys understand. We don’t have to worry. No one will target us. Everything will be taken care of by the seniors from the Flame Elemental Tower.”
“Shop owner Frank, you are something!”
“If the plan succeeds, then you will gain fame.”
“No other families would dare to look down on us, especially the families behind the other Magic Towers.”
“It’s time for the Flame Elemental Tower to make a name for itself.”
The Supreme Wizards voiced their opinions one after another. They were happy and celebrating.
…
Crystal City Shop
That night, Manager Lara and I were discussing it in the office room again.
“Manager Lara, it’s been a few days. Do you think they would come?” I asked her.
Lara furrowed her eyebrows and said, “I reported to Lord Erwin. He was interested in this incident.”
“He says that the Flame Elemental Tower won’t let go of the opportunity. He will intervene if any big people dare to cause problems to the Silver Tower,” she added.
I touched my forehead with a headache. Using the name of the Silver Tower did invite trouble now.
Lara asked, “Are you regretting the decision?”
Hearing that, I shook my head and said, “I’m a Silver Tower member now. Since they are going to shift the blame, then we should use the opportunity.”
Lara thought of something. Her eyes twinkled and she said, “There are special wizards in the Mage Union. Especially, there is a wizard who can verify whether a person is telling the truth or not by reading their memory.”
“There are some others with weird abilities as well. A female wizard there could use her illusions to learn the truth. So there are many methods. It’s not like it’s impossible to prove your innocence,” she added.
“What?” I uttered in surprise.
It was something I was hearing for the first time. A storm set off in my heart. Then why go through all this trouble? We could invite someone from the Mage Union.
“I can tell what you are thinking. Do you think they are easy to contact and free to help?”
“And why would they help you?” Lara asked.
Hearing that, I was left speechless. She was right, why would they help me?
“Only Lord Erwin can do something about it. You have just become a faction member. You have yet to take missions from the Mage Union.”
“Once you start doing the missions there, your reputation will increase, because each of their missions involves certain risks,” she said.
My eyes glinted with understanding. Then we spoke for a few minutes before parting ways. She was staying in the extra room.
After entering my room, I didn’t go to bed. Instead, I pondered. I could see where the events were going.
I had this feeling that the Flame Elemental Tower behind the auction house would provide support. It could become a fight between the Flame Elemental Tower and the Silver Tower.
If a Magic Lord comes, then Manager Lara will step up. If a Forbidden Wizard appears, then Lord Erwin will take care of it.
In the end, nothing is going to happen to me. I have the Gregor Mansion; I can hide inside. But I don’t want to give up the business. It is going well.
If the following events happen, then it will draw attention including unwanted attention. The Flame Elemental Tower could target the shop business.
I don’t like the future trajectory. A crazy idea came to my mind. Since the Auction House Owner dared to plot against me, then why should I stay silent?
Wouldn’t it be better if I killed him? I could kill him without leaving evidence. The Flame Elemental Tower wouldn’t have anything to prove.
If the auction house owner were dead, then they couldn’t take the Cedric case further either. I felt killing him was the right choice now.
But there is a risk as well. I recalled the words spoken by Manager Lara. If there are wizards who can find out the truth, then it could backfire against me.
