Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1805: Part 1: Time to collect intel

Chapter 1805: Part 1: Time to collect intel
The Following Day
The news about the Crystal City spread across the Magic City. Now, all the major wizard forces had learned the news.
They were shocked by this development. They didn’t know why the Flame Elemental Tower and the Silver Tower had started fighting.
Not long ago, they had heard the news of the Forbidden Wizard Erwin’s return, and now such an incident had taken place.
The major forces couldn’t help but think it could be a plan by the Elemental Forces. They were worried that another conflict could happen in the future.
…
Flame Elemental Tower
Forbidden Wizard Callum was not in seclusion. He was following the news from Tulip City.
He had thought his men would succeed in the plan, but the outcome did not end in his favor. Instead, it exposed the Flame Elemental Tower’s involvement.
Callum frowned. Everyone had seen Magic Lord Scott, who was someone that worked under him. People with discerning eyes could connect the dots and relate the incident back to him.
He believed that the Silver Tower would know about him. Thinking about his rival, his eyes flashed with a cold glint. He believed Erwin would definitely know of his involvement, but he didn’t care. His eyes flashed with an arrogant glint.
“It’s a pity that the plan failed,” Callum muttered.
Then, he summoned Magic Lord Scott. It didn’t take long for the man to arrive. Scott was scared and worried as he looked at Lord Callum.
“I didn’t expect you to fail. Now everyone knows about the Flame Elemental Tower’s involvement. There is no need to continue with the plan.”
“Tell the Auction House owner to stop this matter. There is no need to capture that appraiser,” Callum said in a serious tone.
Hearing that, Scott didn’t know what to say but kept nodding his head. He was afraid that the Lord would punish him. But he was worried for nothing; Callum told him to leave.
He didn’t plan on punishing him. In fact, he thought Scott had done the right thing. If Scott had used a magic spell to complete the task, the Mage Union would definitely have interfered.
If that had happened, even Callum wouldn’t have the power to save him. So, he did not punish him.
…
Magic Lord Scott’s Room
Magic Lord Scott returned to his room, feeling relieved. He was glad that Lord Callum had spared him.
Then, he thought of the Auction House owner, Roderick. He phoned him and told him not to follow through with the plan.
The Lord had ordered them to drop it. Old man Roderick was scared and dumbfounded. He didn’t expect the Flame Elemental Tower to give up at the last moment.
Old man Roderick slumped back in his seat. His eyes became vacant, and he felt despair.
Scott ended the call, not continuing the conversation. He was happy; he hadn’t offended the Silver Tower to the death.
On the other hand, old man Roderick resigned himself to his fate. It was over not only for him but for the other wizard families as well.
Especially Magic Lord Benny, who was going to face the wrath of the Silver Tower.
But old man Roderick didn’t plan on telling the others. Because they were Magic Lords, they would surely take their anger out on him.
…
Crystal City – Shop
Days passed.
The city was returning to normal. The appraisal shop was getting business as usual.
Customers from the local city continued to visit, but customers from other cities were not coming in large numbers because they were afraid of getting caught in the crossfire.
Ever since that day, there had been no news from the Tulip Auction House, as if they had ceased their activities.
They weren’t complaining anymore. However, things could change any day, so many people still avoided visiting the shop.
Manager Lara waited for a few days. After getting permission from Lord Erwin, she returned to the Silver Tower. The Flame Elemental Tower was no longer targeting the shop.
…
Gallery Room – Office
I sat in my seat, seeing a good number of customers in the gallery room. My eyes flashed with relief. Then, I summoned Otto. When Otto entered the room, I asked him to sit.
Otto sat opposite me. “Have you heard anything?” I asked him.
“Master, it appears the Tulip Auction House has stopped their actions for good. People are discussing that their friends in Tulip City saw that the Auction House was closed.”
“The Wizard Families are not making any moves. Even their descendants have reduced their activities and aren’t going out as much,” he said in a calm tone.
Hearing that, my eyebrows eased. It appeared the Tulip Auction House was facing trouble, but I wasn’t convinced.
“Take Patrick with you and go to Tulip City. I want to know what the Wizard Families are planning. I especially want to know about the Tulip Auction House,” I said to him.
Otto was surprised, but then he understood. They were collecting information here, but if they wanted the real story, they had to visit the source.
“I have started the business for intel gathering. It’s time for us to do the main job,” I told him.
“Don’t worry, Master. I will gather the information.” After saying that, he exited the office.
He went to meet Patrick. After some talk, both of them prepared to leave. On the other hand, I went to the gallery and started taking care of the customers.
Time passed. Both of them left Crystal City. Right now, everyone was watching the shop. Every little movement was noticed by others.
The departure of the staff was noticed as well. People were surprised; after that incident, everyone thought it would take time for the shop owner, Frank, and the others to recover.
But the staff had left the city. People didn’t know if anything was about to happen. The local forces didn’t move.
However, those who had spies received timely updates. Patrick and Otto were being followed, but they didn’t care. They were traveling in a cab.
Their destination was Tulip City. The people following them were surprised. They had thought the two staff were going to the Magic City, but they were moving in a completely different direction.
