Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1812: Tomb goods!

Chapter 1812: Tomb goods!
Office
I decided to wait for the shop’s closing time. But after realizing that no one was actually purchasing anything, I returned to my room.
Swoosh!
Then, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I walked into the hall and brought the zero puppet there.
I activated the core by placing the mana stones inside. The zero puppet became active the next second.
“Master,” the puppet greeted.
Then, I brought the plundered goods outside and poured them onto the ground. There were more than 50 boxes on the floor.
“System, check whether the goods are safe,” I asked the system.
[Ding! The goods are safe.]
The system gave a reply. Then, I told the zero puppet to open the goods one by one. I wanted to know what the Magic Lords were escorting.
The zero puppet acted. It began to open the goods. I saw magic ores used for artifact making. Then, I saw different types of magic herbs in a few boxes.
The grades were not low. The magic herbs were at least Grade-9 and above. The first few materials impressed me, but I knew they were not that important to the Magic Lords.
The zero puppet continued to open the goods. Then, I saw mid-grade magic artifacts. They are used by Level-9 Wizards and below.
Since I had become a Supreme Wizard, these magic artifacts were tasteless to me. I continued to wait.
The zero puppet uncovered other miscellaneous items. There were books and old notes in one of the crates. I ignored them and continued to watch.
Finally, the zero puppet turned toward one box which was larger than the others. Seeing it, I immediately recognized the box.
It was one of the boxes from inside the Magic Lords’ room. The zero puppet opened the box. The next second, I saw a rectangular glass container.
It was sealed, but there seemed to be a corpse stored inside the container. In a flash, I appeared in front of the glass container.
I stopped the zero puppet from opening it.
“System, what is it?” I asked the system.
[It is the human corpse of a Forbidden Wizard. However, the forbidden power no longer remains in the corpse. It poses zero threat to the host.]
The system’s voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, I was stunned. I didn’t expect them to be carrying a corpse with them.
I didn’t understand; the corpse seemed to be very old. It didn’t have any power. Even if the Evil Wizards wanted to do something with it, the corpse should have been useless to them.
“Could there be any other reason?” I asked myself.
I strongly felt that there must be a connection I didn’t see yet. It explained why the Magic Lords were guarding the goods. The corpse’s identity must be important to them.
Then, my gaze fell on the other goods, the books, artifacts, and miscellaneous items. A terrible conclusion came to mind.
The objects down here seemed to be connected to the corpse. They could be the belongings of the deceased owner.
Don’t tell me these people had raided some tomb or ruin? It was possible, and it explained why the goods were like this.
“Tomb robbery?” I asked myself.
I had thought I would find some useful stuff. Instead, I had plundered stolen goods from these people.
What a city? It appears they are doing such illegal activity behind the scenes. I knew most of the auction houses had illegal channels where they got smuggled goods.
But I didn’t expect the Tulip City people to involve themselves in a “direct job.” Those Magic Lords and the Supreme Wizards were either from the store or the wizard families behind them.
I think that the store must be jointly run by the wizard families. Otherwise, they couldn’t dispatch this many Magic Lords.
After figuring it out, I sighed in relief. If I had known these were robbed goods, I wouldn’t have gone. The trip appeared to be a waste.
Still, I decided to go through the old books and notes. I could come across something useful. I gave the orders to the zero puppet to go through the books and notes.
Then, I appeared outside and went back to the gallery room to see. The customers were gone; only a few remained.
30 minutes later,
All the customers had left and the shop was closed down. We once again gathered in the living room and sat down.
The members’ eyes were all on me. They wanted to know about the goods.
“Don’t get your hopes high. I succeeded in plundering the goods, but they were stolen items. There is a corpse of a Forbidden Wizard and his belongings.”
“There is no shred of power left in the corpse. It is useless. There are his magic artifacts, notes, and other stuff,” I said to them.
Everyone gained some understanding.
Patrick said, “Master, I am all too familiar with the auction houses. They mostly sell shady items. They would lose money if they acquired everything through legal means.”
Otto supported his idea and said, “I agree. Tulip City is supported by the Flame Elemental Tower. They would know about it.”
Hank remained silent. He had the least experience in this area.
Only old man Rock was quiet. He connected a few dots and said, “Master Vincent, I think we should prepare as well.”
“A few rats from the Green Elemental Tower have come today. They must be looking for ways to attack us.”
“We should do something about our goods as well. If people sell illegal items to our shop, we will be caught in a big problem,” he said.
Gasp!
Hank was shocked. He didn’t expect such a hidden danger. He did the billing, but the customers often gave vague background information.
He hadn’t bothered about it earlier.
On the other hand, I raised my eyebrows. Old man Rock brought up an important point. There was a risk associated with objects sold here.
“Okay. I’ll do background checks for all the items starting tomorrow morning,” I said to them.
Hearing that, everyone felt at ease. Then we talked for a few more minutes before parting. I returned to my room.
Then, I appeared inside the mansion and entered the hall. I saw the zero puppet looking at a worn-out piece of cloth in its hand.
“Zero, what is it?” I asked.
“Master, I have found a spell model here,” the zero puppet replied.
