Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1816: Unexpected customer

Chapter 1816: Unexpected customer
Crystal City
A few days passed, and business was as usual. No new trouble had arrived, but the members knew it was the calm before the storm.
Inside the office, I followed my daily routine, watching the news on my device. From time to time, I paid attention to the situation outside because I had placed the Zero Puppet there.
I didn’t have to keep an eye on the gallery room all the time. What’s more, the Flame Elemental Tower hadn’t caused any more problems.
The loss might have been huge for them. Thanks to them, I have gained a new magic spell, and I still have some unclaimed rewards.
If I had the opportunity, I would make a request to Lord Erwin. Maybe he could find a gravity spell in the Mage Union for me; I’m sure the Mage Union must have a vast collection.
[Ding! Danger!]
[Ding! The presence of the Magic Lord was detected.]
The system’s voice echoed in my mind. Hearing that, I collected my thoughts.
I shifted my gaze toward the shop entrance and saw someone adorned in luxurious black cloth enter. The person was wearing a mask to cover his face.
When he walked into the shop, Old Man Rock opened his eyes and turned toward him. The black-clothed person was a Magic Lord.
He noticed Old Man Rock as well, and the two of them stared into each other’s eyes.
By this time, Hank noticed something was wrong as well. His gaze fell on the black-clothed man, and he felt a sense of crisis.
He had only ever felt this level of threat from a Magic Lord or above. He moved to Old Man Rock’s side to support him.
Meanwhile, I came to the living area and saw the masked man. I was not afraid.
“How can I help you?” I asked.
Patrick and Otto had arrived as well, standing behind me.
“You are Shop Owner Frank,” the masked man said.
“Yeah, it’s me,” I replied.
“Then I want to have a private chat with you. It’s important,” the masked man said.
I nodded and led him to the office. I told the others, including Old Man Rock, to continue with their work.
In the office, I sat behind the desk and invited the masked man to take a seat. He sat in the chair opposite me.
“Can you tell me your purpose now?” I asked.
The masked man nodded before taking something out and placing it on the table. It was a purple cloth, but there was something wrapped inside.
The masked man noticed my reaction. Seeing my interest, he nodded and uncovered the cloth. Inside was a white, finger-sized bone that looked like pure crystal.
A hint of surprise flashed in my eyes. It was the first time I had seen a bone crystal. The masked man didn’t say anything, observing my reaction.
He then said, “I want to know about this bone. If you can provide me with information, I will give you a worthy reward.”
“I’ll try,” I replied.
Then, I asked the system to probe the white bone.
[Ding! Finger bone of the Evil Forbidden Wizard detected.]
[Ding! No traces of Forbidden Power left.]
The system’s voice sounded in my mind, and my heart stirred the next second. I didn’t expect to come across something like this again.
Not long ago, I had uncovered loot that included the corpse of a Forbidden Wizard.
The masked man frowned. He didn’t know whether I had discovered the truth or not.
The white, finger-sized bone was no ordinary bone; it was the key to an inheritance site, making it very important to his organization.
He didn’t know what I would do, but he had come here to try his luck.
I confirmed it was the bone of a Forbidden Wizard, but I didn’t know the masked man’s motive. Since he was a Magic Lord, I couldn’t afford to be rude to him.
“I did find out something,” I said to him.
“What is it?” he asked.
“It’s the finger bone of a Forbidden Wizard, but it has no forbidden power left in it,” I replied, hiding the fact that it belonged to an Evil Wizard.
The masked man sighed inwardly. Now that he had double verification, he could return to his organization.
“Thanks for telling me. Here, you can pick any one of these items,” the masked man said, placing several objects on the table.
My gaze fell on the items; I knew this was my reward. I began using the system’s functions to identify them.
My gaze passed over objects of different sizes and shapes, including a necklace, a banner, and some ordinary-looking artifacts.
The system results showed they were magic items related to Evil Magic.
I wasn’t going to use them, even though they were powerful and could have helped me in my current situation.
My gaze then fell on a green vial. There was a green liquid inside. I used the system to investigate and found it was poison extracted from the sac of a powerful bloodline monster.
I looked at the masked man and picked the green vial. He was taken aback.
He smiled and said, “You really are an appraiser. You have found a suitable item. That is poison I obtained from an 11th-Order monster.”
“An 11th-Order monster?” I uttered in shock.
Since an 11th-Order monster is equivalent to a Magic Lord, I didn’t expect to receive such an item.
“Thanks for the appraisal. I hope we can do business again next time.” After saying that, the masked man stood up and left the room.
Everyone remained on edge until he was gone. Only when he truly left the community did everyone sigh in relief.
I was sure he wasn’t from the Green Elemental Tower. He was a genuine customer, but one from the Evil Wizard Faction.
“Master, who is he?” Otto asked.
Hearing that I turned around and looked at everyone.
“Don’t worry, he is really a customer not from the Green Elemental Tower and others,” I said to them.
