Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1818: Part 2: Day out at the city

Chapter 1818: Part 2: Day out at the city
Crystal City – Public Square
As I continued to enjoy the food, I could feel the gazes intensifying over time.
The driver was worried. He could see that people were looking at Shop Owner Frank. He thought some of them had already identified him.
Shop Owner Frank had become a popular figure recently. His picture had been seen by many; they must have watched his videos online.
How could they forget the mask? The driver thought that soon, some would come to disturb him.
When I finished the soup, I was about to pay. Then, I saw someone walking up to me. I ignored the person and paid the fee to the shopkeeper for both of us.
The driver was anxious. He couldn’t wait to take Shop Owner Frank back to his place.
“Hey. Stop right there!” a middle-aged man shouted.
Hearing that, I turned around and saw him. A quick gleam appeared in my eyes.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Are you Shop Owner Frank?” the middle-aged man asked.
Hearing that, I shook my head and said, “No.”
“Then why are you wearing the mask?”
“Remove the mask!” The middle-aged man stepped forward to stop me.
At his words, my eyes flashed with coldness. The driver was shocked. He realized the middle-aged man had come with bad intentions.
“What are you doing?” the driver uttered before stepping forward to intervene.
The driver was not a powerful wizard. He was only a level-7 wizard, while the middle-aged man was a level-9 wizard.
The middle-aged man was angry. He looked down at the driver, his eyes filled with contempt and disdain.
The situation alerted the crowd. They watched from the sidelines, but none of them stepped forward to help. They were just watching the show.
The driver was scared. He knew the real identity of Shop Owner Frank. Before he knew it, the middle-aged man was about to make a move.
“Hmph,” I gave a cold snort.
The middle-aged man shuddered. He felt a powerful pressure that seemed ready to crush his heart. He felt a sudden sense of crisis: if he made a move against the driver, he would die the next second.
The middle-aged man came back to his senses. He saw that a large crowd had formed and everyone was looking at him. He quickly left the place. The crowd was left disappointed; they had expected a fight to occur.
I turned toward the driver and told him to start the car.
Swoosh!
The car departed. I told the driver to go back to the Crystal Community. The news would soon spread, and it wasn’t wise to stay there any longer. I had already seen people taking videos and pictures.
20 Minutes Later
We reached the Crystal Community. The driver dropped me at the front gate. I stepped out of the car and paid him with a mid-grade mana stone.
The driver was happy. He knew Shop Owner Frank would reward him, but he didn’t expect a mid-grade mana stone. He accepted it happily and left. I entered the community and started walking toward the shop.
I saw that the queues were still there. It was almost nighttime.
“Shop Owner Frank!”
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“Shop Owner, can you appraise this item for me?”
One after another, the customers greeted me. I nodded to them before going inside the mansion. I went to the gallery room and saw that there were still customers inside. After looking around, I returned to my room.
Once inside, I entered the Gregor Mansion. I placed all the books from the system space onto the floor. Then, I reappeared in my room and waited for the shop to close.
Not long after, we held a meeting. Everyone wanted to know about my trip. I told them it was a casual trip and that I had visited a couple of places.
After the meeting ended, I brought the Zero Puppet back to the mansion. I told the puppet to read the books and add the information to its database. The Zero Puppet immediately began reading.
The Next Morning
The day started as usual. I didn’t go outside; instead, I spent my time in the office.
The Zero Puppet stood behind me, looking toward the gallery room. The puppet had already read all the books and recorded the information. From time to time, I inquired about details from the books.
The books contained information on Crystal City. I learned about the Wizard families and the Wizard Association, when they were formed and who the strongest wizards were at that time.
I was able to learn about the historical development of the magic city.
Even more interesting were the travel notes regarding the satellite cities.
Some of those cities were built on “forbidden areas.” Such dangerous places had been cleared out by powerful wizards from the Mage Union. Later, satellite cities were built on those very spots. This was surprising information to me.
Time Passed
The gallery room received more customers, but so far, no one had caused any trouble. However, I didn’t know when the trouble from the Green Elemental Tower would arrive.
…
Green Elemental Tower
The higher-ups were waiting for an opportunity. They were dealing with many things and had people employed to take care of their enemies.
Shop Owner Frank was one of their targets, though they regarded him as a minor threat. They were putting most of their resources into finding the whereabouts of Vincent Carey.
Until today, they hadn’t been able to find him. However, the people they hired to target the appraisal shop had decided to act.
They planned to frame Frank and degrade the reputation of the appraisal shop. Their men were already on their way to Crystal City.
They intended to use an extremely evil item for appraisal and then plan to sell it.
If Shop Owner Frank were found in possession of such an evil item, the Mage Union would not let him go. He would be severely punished.
They wanted such a serious thing to happen.
