Chapter 1819: Ominous Black Skull

That night, when we were about to close the shop, Otto came into the room all of a sudden. His face looked solemn.

“What happened?” I asked.

“Master, four wizards entered the community just now. They are planning to harm you,” he replied.

“Harm me?” I uttered.

I realized that Otto might have heard something.

“What did you hear?” I asked.

“I heard them talking about framing you by selling you a banned item,” Otto said.

I understood it could be related to the Green Elemental Tower. I told Otto not to tell the others; I would handle the matter.

A few minutes later, a few customers entered the shop boldly. There were four people.

One of them was a Supreme Wizard, and the other three were Level-9 Wizards. All of them were dressed in wandering clothes.

We were in the living room. The other members were standing beside me. No one found anything wrong, but I felt something amiss.

My gaze fell on the Supreme Wizard. He was an old man. The other three were middle-aged men.

“Are you the shop owner, Frank?”

“Sorry for troubling you. I have come here to appraise an item,” the old man said.

Hearing that, I didn’t show any emotion. I simply nodded to him. Then, I brought the Supreme Wizard to the office, while the other three stayed behind with my members.

Inside the office room, I asked the old man to sit down. Then, I seated myself behind the desk.

“How can I help you?” I asked.

The old man smiled and took something out of his storage bracelet. It was a black box. A hint of surprise appeared in my eyes.

The old man opened the box. There was a black skull inside, covered in black mana. One look was enough to tell that it was an evil thing.

The skull was small in size; I couldn’t tell whether it was the skull of a human or some other monster.

The old man then looked toward Frank. His heart was filled with bad intentions. He had been given the job of selling this item to me, and he couldn’t fail in the task.

“Shop owner, I have come here to appraise this item. If possible, I would be happy to sell it to your shop,” the old man said.

Hearing that, I smiled and said, “I’ll check it.”

But I sneered inwardly. I used the System Probe function on the black skull.

The system voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, my heart stirred. I had just learned about the old history of the satellite cities yesterday.

I knew they were forbidden areas before they were cleared out and massive cities were built over them. I didn’t expect the old man to bring such an evil item.

It must be the plan of the Green Elemental Tower. No wonder they wanted to frame me. If others found out such an item was in my possession, the consequences would be serious.

What a terrifying plan the Green Elemental Tower had. If I hadn’t learned about history yesterday, I would have underestimated the consequences.

The old man wanted to sell me this item, but I had already made a decision.

I said, “The black mana tells me that it’s an evil object, but I cannot recognize it. I apologize for my lack of knowledge and for wasting your time.”

The old man was taken aback. He thought I would be interested in the magic item. If he failed to sell this item, the plan would fail. He quickly collected his thoughts.

He then said, “If you want, you can have this item. I need money urgently; that’s why I have come so late at night.”

His voice sounded serious and urgent. If it were anyone else, they might have believed him. However, because Otto had informed me earlier, I knew these people had come with bad intentions.

“I apologize. I don’t buy or sell anything related to evil magic items,” I replied.

The old man was angry, but he couldn’t show it, otherwise, the plan would be exposed. But if Plan A failed, he had a Plan B as well. He took back the black box.

“I understand your point. In that case, I’m leaving now,” the old man said before standing up to leave.

The old man left the room, and I followed him to the exit. He gave an eye signal to the three middle-aged men.

They left the mansion and headed toward the exit. Once they were gone, Otto broke the silence.

“Master, what happened?” Otto asked.

Hank, Patrick, and old man Rock all paid close attention.

“You were right. They were people sent by the Green Elemental Tower. They wanted to sell me an item banned by the Mage Union. If I had bought it, they would have framed me easily,” I said to them.

Gasp!

Everyone gasped in surprise. They didn’t expect the Green Elemental Tower to move so quickly.

“What is the deal with the banned item?” old man Rock asked.

I revealed some of the history to them. Their faces changed drastically. They didn’t expect the satellite cities to have such dark histories.

Old man Rock was shocked; he knew it was not easy to clear out forbidden areas. The terror within those areas could kill Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards.

Even today, those forbidden places are avoided by the strongest mages.

I saw through their thoughts and said, “I don’t think they will accept defeat easily. We should remain vigilant.”

Everyone agreed. We talked for a few more minutes, then we closed the shop and went back to our rooms.

After entering my room, I closed the door and instantly appeared inside the Gregor Mansion.

I went to the Zero Puppet and asked about the black box and the black skull. The Zero Puppet searched its database.

It quickly found the information.

“The black skull was found in one of the forbidden areas. Now, that place is called SunHaven City,” the Zero Puppet answered the question.
