Gravity Mage with Level-Up System - Chapter 1839: Crest Family’s Secret

Chapter 1839: Crest Family’s Secret
SunHaven City – Empty Ground
After figuring it out, I decided to leave the place. Just as I turned around, the system gave me a series of notifications.
[Ding! Magic Lords are detected.]
[Ding! The host is advised to leave the place.]
The next second, I paused my footsteps and asked whether anyone was seeing me. I got confirmation from the system that no one was seeing me right now.
Swoosh!
Then I disappeared from the spot and appeared inside the Gregor Mansion next. I immediately went to the control room.
I stood in front of the control mirror. My gaze fell on the empty ground shown in the mirror. I didn’t know why Magic Lords had come.
It didn’t take long for four Magic Lords to appear on the screen. They were not alone; there were a few wizards with them.
I saw a familiar face among them. The person was none other than Gary Crest. My eyes gleamed with a twinkle.
“What is he doing here?” I asked myself.
Then I saw the badges on their uniforms. The badges belonged to the Crest Family. The Magic Lords seemed to be elders as well.
Looking at their active talk among themselves, I felt curious. They were here for some purpose.
My gaze remained fixed on the control mirror. The Magic Lords finished their discussion. Gary Crest was behind them, standing with their men.
One of the Magic Lords turned around and spoke to him. Hearing that, Gary Crest nodded his head and then gave a series of orders to the men.
They immediately acted and took their gadgets out. They started placing the gadgets around the empty ground.
Then they activated the gadgets. In the blink of an eye, these gadgets shot light that covered the whole empty ground.
A dome made of light formations appeared. Gary Crest’s men had surrounded the ground. No one could step inside the formations from the outside.
I watched the whole thing from the control mirror. The light dome was a product of magic-tech.
Fortunately, I was already inside the empty ground [area]. The light dome had covered me as well.
My gaze then fell on Gary Crest and the Magic Lords. I had a good guess about this. If I wasn’t wrong, they knew about the existence of the underground hidden chamber.
But the Crest Family seemed to have maintained it like a closely guarded secret. Because if the news were known, the Flame Elemental Tower would have taken action already.
Time passed.
A Magic Lord took action. He used a magic spell. The ground in front of him shook. A deep pit appeared.
He manipulated the earth to clear the way. The soil was being poured on one side of the surface.
The other three Magic Lords followed him from behind. Gary Crest was the last person to follow. To be honest, he was not supposed to do that.
But curiosity took over him. He knew the empty ground was special. There was something hidden underground.
The Crest Family had been keeping this secret, but the recent events in Crystal City had alarmed them.
Especially the Flame Elemental Tower’s actions shocked them even more. If the Flame Elemental Tower was after banned items, then it was troublesome news for them.
Because the Crest Family had hidden this news from the Flame Elemental Tower. If the Flame Elemental Tower learned about it, then their anger would be different.
They could attack the Crest Family. So, the Family Head had decided to uncover the underground hidden chamber.
The Crest Family higher-ups and others believed that it was difficult to hide the news from the Flame Elemental Tower.
Before they could find out, they had decided to hand over the items found inside the underground hidden chamber.
It didn’t take long for them to empty the soil. An old, rusted iron door appeared before them.
The Magic Lords looked at each other. They needed to be sure before exploring the hidden underground chamber.
Gary Crest was there as well. Right after seeing the door of the hidden underground chamber, he got thrilled and excited.
“Wow!”
“We have found it,” Gary Crest said with an excited voice. He walked past the Magic Lords who were discussing. He ignored them. He walked up to the door and tried to open it.
“Don’t do it. We don’t know whether it is safe or not,” one of the Magic Lords said.
The faces of the other three Magic Lords changed. They had thought Gary Crest was just observing the door. The next scene stunned them.
Creak!
Gary pushed the door open. Surprisingly, the door was not locked at all. Seeing that, Gary got even more excited.
He pushed further. The door was still tight, but a slight gap appeared.
A black-and-red mixed smoke gushed forth from the gap. Gary Crest and the four Magic Lords were caught off guard.
Gary Crest was the first one to take the brunt. The black-red smoke entered his body. He fainted on the ground.
The Magic Lords were doing better. They quickly protected themselves from the black-red smoke.
Just as they thought they were doing okay, they slowly lost consciousness as well.
Inside the Gregor Mansion, my heart was in a storm.
“System, what’s happening to them?” I asked the system.
[Ding! A dangerous Artifact is detected. It has affected the Magic Lords and the Supreme Wizard. Prolonged influence can damage their minds.]
The system voice sounded in my mind. I was right. There was something dangerous hidden inside the underground chamber.
“System, can you protect me?” I asked.
[Ding! The Artifact is a living Magic Artifact. It reacts by sensing the presence of wizards. The host’s presence is shielded by the system.]
The system gave the answer. The next second, I appeared outside. My gaze fell on the hidden underground room.
I walked up to the door and pushed it open completely.
The dark red smoke appeared again. It was coming from the room. I walked inside. The room was dark. I took a gadget out and turned it on.
The bright light illuminated the room.
