The protective formation forms an invisible barrier in front of the door of the basement. This barrier can be broken with force.
Unlike the illusion that preceded it, this barrier is not paper-thin. It will require a lot of force to break it.

This arrangement meant that he didn’t need to activate the traps for them to work. They will work even if he isn’t around to control them.
The disadvantage is that they won’t work if the intruder can deactivate the formations or bypass them without breaking them. In that case, he will have to manually activate them.

If they had found him unfit to gain power, nothing he could do would have changed their minds. He would need to steal the materials he needed from them, and they would readily die to stop him from getting them. That’s how stubborn they are.
It made him glad that he didn’t have the strength to steal money like he planned earlier. He is smart and can remove most of the traces of his crime, but the lamp bearers have supernatural power. They will find the traces that human ability and wisdom can’t remove.
